High-quality video: 'Bigfoot in the Redwoods'
(from Humboldt Visitors bureau)
With all this Bigfoot ridiculousness happening right now -- and let me just say this week's story is the worst and most embarrassing hoax I've seen since I've been hunting hoaxes -- it's amazing that no one has found this other brand spanking new bigfoot video that just hit Youtube Thursday.
Obviously I have no proof about whether this video (of Bigfoot interacting with humans in the Redwoods of Northern California) is authentic, but what I can tell you is that it's a lot more believable than what these other guys are saying.
(IMPORTANT ASIDE: Have we entered a moment where everyone who produces a half-baked oddity photo gets a press conference and coverage from the New York Times, CNN and (obviously) the extended blogosphere? Can't we demand a slightly higher standard of proof? Like a video at least? With examples of manipulated photos everywhere you look, and video recording devices now approaching total ubiquity, we are way past the era of the successful photo hoax. It's just not good enough anymore. So I propose a permanent ban on coverage of any monster, alien or supernatural phenomena stories whose original source does not supply a video! Journalists and bloggers: Shame on you for writing based on photos only -- that is so 20th century.)
With all that said, I present a two-minute video that should allow you to judge for yourself rather than depending on second- or third-hand accounts whether you believe the story. In addition to the amazing footage this video contains, it's actually quite heartwarming as well -- it reminds me of the Pet Lion story we wrote about a few weeks ago -- which was not a hoax (and which included a video). Enjoy:

No doubt! I'm ashamed of the "real press" for not grilling these folks alive! You got proof? Show it! or shut the *&^% up!

people, you truly are ignorant. idk if this carcass is real, but their is such an animal out therew. please, stop with the "everyone looks for it" bs. bc in reality, most people are armchair skeptics who spend more time inside than in the wild. no one spends a considerable amount of time looking for these things.
their are over 72 million acres of forest in the nw alone. if a couple of 100 creatures like this exist there, isolated, chances are ur not gonna find one, unless u spend months with over 100 people really looking for it.
hair morphology examination concludes some hair belongs to a yet to be discovered animal. the monsterquest dna concludes that the hair comes from an unknown species.
native americans regard sasquatch as a real animal. their are over 60 different names for the animal from different tribes, isolated by 100's of miles, yet describe the same animal

alex,
I suggest you learn the difference between there/they're/their before you call anyone ignorant!

I spotted something big and furry hanging out near my house last weekend, over in Atwater Village, on top of a building...all lit up in neon.
We've got a roundup of reported recent California sightings over at the LAT Travel blog.

Who cares if there really is a bigfoot anyway. If you believe these guys in Georgia then you have serious mental issues! It's a scam for money and people will pay. Even if they did prove it was bigfoot, BIGDEAL! You know what that would me right? Yep you guessed it, someone did it with an ape or a gorilla or whatever it's supposed to be. That's NASTY! Get a life and quit being so nieve! People believe anything these days. Well I'm off to go feed my cowpig and sheephorse and
for $500 I will take you on a tour to try and get a sight of them, although we may not see them this time, for another $500 we can try again! LOL!

Part of the problem with skeptics is that they can not fully comprehend and appreciate the scale of the wilderness that could serve as a habitat for these animals. It is only through understanding the scale of the areas in question that one can understand the difficulty in locating something, especially a somewhat intelligent animal on it's own turf.
When thinking about, or criticizing, how difficult it is to find relatively small objects (animals, people or even airplanes) within vast spaces, consider the following real world examples:
1) The finding of 125,000 previously undiscovered Wester Lowland Gorillas found in the Congo that was just announced earlier this year. The number effectively doubles the known population of the species. These are creatures that live in larger family groups than people theorize Big Foot lives in. Yet, they went undiscovered until now. The area where they were found is just a fraction of the size of the wilderness areas of the northwestern US and western Canadian.
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=93254830
2) The FBI sent in hundreds, if not thousands, of agents, detectives, and dogs to hunt for Eric Rudolph, who was hiding in the woods of western North Carolina. After years of searching, in an area that amounts to the size of a postage stamp compared to the woods of the great northwest, they still could not find him. As it turns out, he was living in the woods just 200 yards from a strip mall and high school.

3) For almost a year now, people have been searching for Steve Fossett, but have not found a single sign of him or his plane. They know the exact airstrip that he took off from, and the maximum distance that his plane could have traveled, yet they have been unable to locate the crash site. Thousands of people from around the world volunteered to help with the search using Amazon's Mechanical Turk system, pouring over photo after photo of an area that amounts to little more than a pin head compared to the great wilderness areas, but to no avail.

If we can not find known objects within relatively small spaces, why are we so ignorant (or egotistical) that we think we can find unknown or undocumented creatures living in really, really vast areas? I am not necessarily a Big Foot aficionado, but I think I will take a Carl Sagan approach and recognize that there are "billions and billions" of acres out there, and that many of them have never seen a human foot print on them.
After doing my own photo analysis of the current Big Foot in a freezer image, I am skeptical of the finding. However, I but do hope that the creature is one day caught, if for no other reason than to show the great diversity of life on this planet, to remind us that we do know everything and that we need to live with a bit more of an open mind.

Once again the "so called" Americans in this country have taken something they know nothing about and shown their stupidity. Whether real or not, vidoes like this show that these people hold nothing sacred and have little respect for those that do. Your ignorance and disrespect are just another example of why we view you as the idiots that you truy are.

OK, first, props to formZ for taking all that time to argue that there is, in allowance for what we don't know, the possibility for bigfoot to exist, just to say he disbelieves this particular claim. This truly is the way that we should examine everything but, we live in a time, and especially a place, where everybody takes the "AUTHORITIES" word for something. It's both sad and wonderful that the internet has given everybody a voice. Too bad we don't have ignorance filters. Interestingly enough, an argument placed against the "we only use 10 to 20% of our brains" myth on snopes.com (follow this link http://www.snopes.com/science/stats/10percent.asp ), helps me to make a logical statement on peoples viewpoints and beliefs in general. Now I'm going to change some of the words from the website and insert some of my own. If you don't like
my statement go to the snopes site, and then try to argue with me that I took it way out of context. It would sound something like this..... The argument that "bigfoot" exists, is based on the logical fallacy of the argument from ignorance. In this fallacy, lack of proof for a position( or simply lack of information) is used to try support a particular claim. (And now directly quoting), This fallacy pops up all the time in paranormal claims, and is especially prevalent among UFO proponents. For example: Two people see a strange light in the sky. The first, a UFO believer, says, "See there! Can you explain that?" The skeptic replies that no, he can't. The UFO believer is gleeful. "Ha! You don't know what it is, so it must be aliens!" he says, arguing from ignorance...... So, with that said, always question where or who your information is coming from. Just because network television, or the internet, or a magazine tells you someone is an expert or specialist, doesn't mean that they are. Always, always respectfully question authority. Even if the authority is an authority, it doesn't mean they're right or that they deserve that position. Do background research, a lot of it, before reaching a position. Remember, the men that claimed the earth was round, or that we didn't live in a geocentric universe, weren't exactly the most popular people when they stated their claims. So even the most popular beliefs aren't always correct. As a matter of fact, what we may believe, because of mainstream media, may still be an issue of great scientific debate in most
of the world. My example for this is a convention that National Geographic held in New York, that a friend told me about, talking about global warming. The entire first half of the day, NGeo explained why global warming was a real threat, and what we had to do about it. The rest of the day was spent arguing why global warming isn't a threat, and why we don't have to worry about it. Now this issue IS most definitely under great scrutiny, and debated by "scientists" who believe, and those that don't. SO, WHY IS IT, THAT THE ENTIRE COUNTRY IS PREACHING GLOBAL WARMING, GLOBAL WARMING, GLOBAL WARMING? It's because , in this country, we'll take any "authorities", "word". So some respect for the truly scientific minds. And for god's sake please show some shred of intellectualism when making a stand on anything. Ignorance doesn't breed future science, it breeds future ignorance. And do research, tons and tons of it, before opening your big ignorant mouth. With that said, the human race has only acquired a miniscule fraction of the knowledge obtainable in this universe. That statement you can here come from some of the greatest minds in physics. I'm
not gonna cite them however. If you don't believe me then you'll have to open some books yourself.

Here's where Big Foot really is:

FormZ said all that needs to be said on the subject. There is plenty of uncharted territory on this earth; places that man has never been, and there is a possibility that Bigfoot does exist. I personally believe he does, or a species of them do exist, but until proven, the animal remains material only in folklore.

Some of the anti-Bigfoot people who write messages are as dull-witted as the dumbest and most naive pro-Bigfoot idiots!
News can be anything, and rumors of the existence of Bigfoot that are widely believed deserved to be treated openly in the mainstream media as much as anything else imaginable.
I personally doubt the existence of Sasquatch, for it's blatantly obvious that most of the rumors are hoaxes, and most of the rest are products of wild imagination. However, the fact that there are so many people who believe it is news in and of itself.
The belief in Bigfoot, however false the evidence probably (and likely is), is proof that people are dreamers. The fact that people want to believe in something so unrealistic, whether true or false, proves that many of us are open minded and willing to look past the accepted, official logic we were taught as children. The world isn't so orderly as we wish.
It's true that the latest Bigfoot claims will likely be proven to be a hoax, but sometimes truth is stranger than fiction, and there's nothing wrong in at least being hopeful and waiting for the evidence to come in.
No real harm comes from these hicks and their (alleged) hoax, so there's no real need for anger or hatred, regardless of their intentions.

Wow some of you are truly morons! You sound like the most dull-witted dumbest of all duesh! Everybody has there own opinion, but does that make them right? Don't think so! So don't write like you know everything because you don't.
