Behind the Paris-McCain ad with creator Adam McKay

McKay was the brains of this operation.

Director Adam McKay, FunnyOrDie pioneer and the mind behind "The Landlord," explained his "aha" moment behind the Paris for Prez video, which went from zero to 120,000 views in one hour today and will not doubt keep speeding into the millions. (Whether it catches "Landlord" is another matter entirely, but that was over a year ago, when online video was just a toddler.)

I was literally in my car and thought Paris must respond. It's her duty as
a citizen. Within three hours I was on the phone with her and she was into
it. Our next goal is a town-hall-style debate between Paris, McCain and that
sea creature that washed up in Montauk.

It was a dog, but that's cool. McKay continued about his justification for setting McCain in his and Paris' sights, suggesting some really excellent campaign video ideas that enterprising filmmakers should pick up and run with:

McCain made one huge mistake: He drifted into the world of pop culture. And
that's Paris' world. She owns that world. So now he gets the blow back. Now
we're praying that Obama does an ad with Screetch from "Saved by the Bell." Or
maybe McCain's next ad about the trillions we've spent on the Iraq war while
our economy falls apart will have Janet Jackson or Paula Abdul in it.

The video was co-created by Chris Henchy, directed by Jake Szymanski.

I am so proud of our LIKE celebrity Paris Hilton. She is like 27 and LIKE still says DUDE. McCain has to LIKE send a message to our media. Because, LIKE they don't get it. LIKE its about issues but unless he cooks up entertainment, they LIKE won't give him any air time. And LIKE Obama is so far Left. That the media calls McCain... McBush. Now LIKE any republic knows. McCain has never been thought of as a republican but more as a liberal. So LIKE if you weren't sooooooooooooo far left you might see McCain is in the middle and LIKE the reason you don't know that is because you have to travel so far from the Left before you LIKE even get to the middle.
