Hot Trends watch: JibJab's McCain vs. Obama vid
JibJab, a distributor of electronic greeting cards, is back in the saddle with its first video co-starring Barack Obama and John McCain. The terms "Jib Jab" and "jibjab.com" held spots at No. 2 and 7 on Google Hot Trends this morning -- so people are hearing about it.
The "Time for Some Campaignin'" eCard opens with President Bush, outfitted in flannel and cowboy boots with a banjo in hand, being carried out of the White House. It goes on to poke fun at McCain's age, Obama's lofty promises and both candidates' high-volume campaign spending. There's even a cameo by a Hillary Clinton (who recently asked donors to contribute to her next presidential bid in 2012). Clinton sings, "I'll be back in four years, heck it ain't all that far! Oh it's time for some campaignin'!"
The spoof of Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are A-Changin'" might spark a bit of déjà vu. JibJab was in the spotlight during the last election for its "This Land" video, a 2 1/2-minute clip that spread like wildfire four years ago, back when "viral" was just a wee little concept. That cartoon, set to the Woodie Guthrie classic "This Land is Your Land," depicts Bush drawing on a map with crayons, while "liberal wiener" John Kerry dances around in a hot dog costume.
My, we've come a long way since then.

Jib Jab starring John McCain and Obama is funny, funny, funny. The New Yorker cover was NOT funny, missed the satire point and was offensive to many.

Here we are back into a recession that was a train wreck going to happen. We deregulated the husing market just like we did the farm market over inflated prices and sold the public a bill of goods. Now we got banks failing just like we had SMP failing greed is good. Oil prices have gone through the roof didn't this happen 25 years ago and didn't this trigger inflation? Oh weren't we paying off debt incured by a war? Don't we learn fast.

Regarding Chuck Windsor's comments:
Figures that a Right Wing numbskull would be so confused : It's all that rotten nonsense they saturate themselves with from Rush Limbaugh and FAUX News.
First: The candidates are enriching themselves with Taxpayer dollars: Yet: Obama refused taxpayer financed campaign funds, and will take his campaign completely private.
Second: After whining about the candidates at the tax trough: Ole Chuck prefers that the even MORE tax payer provided funds be paid to the President, because athletes get TOP DOLLAR in the open market ...
GEEZ ... what a crazy mixed up bunch of notions .....
Wake Up Chuck ....

One of the best satires so far. My favorite part is that it mocks both sides.

YOu gotta find the laughter in this dog and pony show. Neither light my fire. Neither will do what they promise. All is smoke and mirrors. Look at the backgrounds. Look at the experience or lack of. Look at the 'character'. Don't fall for a glib tongue and a smooth talker. All 'change' is not good. It can be a change for the worse-- even if you think that is impossible.

Listen - it's us. We are the stupid ones. We are the idiots that put the last bunch of criminals in office and we will be the morons that put the next group of liars there. We don't demand truth. We are satisfied with making our decisions listening to their lies. We are so dumb we even believe what we read on the internet. Wise up. Read a book.
All American and trying to be proud of it.
