'Dr. Horrible' crashed after 'insanely huge' traffic
"Dr. Horrible," which is now the No. 1 TV show (and TV season) on iTunes, is off to a roaring start.
Roaring so hard, in fact, that the DrHorrible.com site was down most of the day Tuesday because it couldn't handle all the incoming requests.
The show creators said at peak, the site was getting 200,000 hits per hour. In fact, a representative from their web hosting company, Vireo Verio.com, called to tell them the site had crashed when, at one point, 1,000 people tried to access it in one second.
According to "Dr. Horrible" writer Maurissa Tancharoen, the representative told the creators that the traffic to DrHorrible.com had been "insanely huge."
Though the creators had anticipated being able to handle the traffic loads with a large bandwidth plan, Tancharoen said they upgraded to the largest "monster" plan their provider offered, which comes with a backup server in case the primary fails.
In addition, the Hulu player that originally wasn't allowing international viewers to watch has been tweaked so the episode is now available everywhere.

Listed below are links to weblogs that reference 'Dr. Horrible' crashed after 'insanely huge' traffic:
Maurissa Tancharoen a co-writer is the same young beauty who danced in "Baby Bad" as the boy wearing the Rising Sun headband, the lead singer dancer of Pretty in Pink, a playwright and classical actor from Occidental, a co-producer and creator of two MTV shows, both with her wonderkind brother Kevin Tancharoen and with J.Lo. She also has sold screenplays and has been around production in television as an assistant to giants in the genre.
No one should think that she is an appendage of anyone connected with this show. She is loaded with talent of all kinds.
Kevin, her 23 year old brother designed and correographed for Madonna and Britney and is a phenom dancer. His co-productions with Maurissa mentioned above are just the beginning. Variety announced that he has been chosen to direct the new motion picture "Fame"
Act I and II of Horrible was so good I see a broadway show after a full length film.

Isn't it all just the perfect metaphor for this President? Think about it: a likeable, not very bright guy with big plans and some ambition who gets what he wants in the end, but it all goes wrong in the end. It's "W" all over. I just wish our situation weren't reality.

Cr Horrible has spawned a number of fan made videos, both review and "in world" pieces.
I've been collecting them at http://www.wonderflonium.com for anyone that is interested.

This was a phenominal show. It was original, well acted, had great songs and music, and will be very successful.
What this has to do with our President is beyond me, but, hey, Kevin, if you experience BDS from everything you watch, perhaps you should ask Moist to give you a damp hug.
