Jessica Rose, aka lonelygirl15, wants to wrestle boys
Jessica Rose is back again, not as lonelygirl15 or Julia in "Blood Cell," but as 15(!!)-year-old Tina, the sister of Lee, the varsity wrestling captain at Victory High School around whom "Perfect Sport" revolves.
The movie, from Building Block pictures, is debuting April 13 at the 41st Annual WorldFest in Houston.
Its creators describe it as being "packed with emotion, grit, and above all, honesty. It's the classic coming-of-age story presented in a way that you've never seen."
In the following scene, Tina tries to persuade Lee to let her join the team. She being a girl, and this being a sports movie, he is understandably skeptical.

Oh brother, this girl has gone far beyond her 15 minutes. I guess new-gen media means you dont actually have to have any skills to be successful.

Actually, her acting wasn't terrible. I thought the guy opposite her was worse. (Let's start, though, with the premise, then the script, then the production values, then the direction...)
The worst thing about her performance, and this is bad enough, is her mumblemouth. She swallowed half of her lines, or swallowed half of half of them -- quick calculation -- a quarter of her lines. If the director and/or sound person (Like my cool Industry jargon?) had been paying attention, she might have delivered a not-too-bad performance.
Anyone else bothered by the LOOOONG ponytail in the wrestling milieu?

this clip doesnt give much.. but im curious to see what it's like as a whole. jessica rose in a feature film.. thats a lot of time, and people have too much of a habit online of snap judging ten second clips

Ms. Rose's acting is not terrible, but mediocre. I think she was playing herself, not Tina or Bree.
Does she still want to be a huge star????

Jess has proved MANY times on LG15 that she can act. It's not fair to judge so quickly on this movie or her performance when the clip is so short. How is one to say she is acting as 'herself'? Do you know her personally? If she didn't have talent as an actor, then directors wouldn't be casting her. I say well done Jess!

Saw the full feature in Houston, I can say without a doubt this girl has more than 15 minutes worth of talent. This movie had my gut churning and blood boiling by the end; and Ms. Rose carried her role like a pro. Go see it.

I too saw the film in Houston and it is incredible! Rose does a fantastic job in it, but she truly perils in comparison to the lead, Anthony O'Brien. He directed, co-wrote and starred in the thing and delivered. The film won a Gold Remi at the Houston Film Festival. This clip doesn't do either of their acting justice. It's a smart well done feature and these kids are awesome!
