P.M. Scouting Report: Digg down, Facebook even, Bush a pirate?
-- Digg is down. What's up with that? Some of us need to know what's happening in the world. UPDATE: Digg is back up. Phew.
-- According to the NYT's Bits blog, Facebook is settling with ConnectU, the guys that sued founder Mark Zuckerberg for allegedly borrowing their brilliant idea. Cool, now maybe they can focus their energies on getting out some cool new features, besides, like, a second version of Scrabble.
-- I did snag one blog post off Digg before it tanked: this silly indictment of George Bush. The post is titled, "President of the United States of America is a dirty stinking music pirate!" The poster throws the book at Bush because he has some Beatles on his iPod. Given that you can't yet download the Beatles from iTunes or other legit online stores, reasons the poster, he must have done so illegally. (Never mind ripping your own Beatles CDs or, in Bush's case, LPs). Yes, picture Bush hunting around on The Pirate Bay or LimeWire for his favorite "White Album" songs. ... actually, I'm picturing that right now and it's less difficult than I thought ...
-- Check out Deborah Netburn's article from last week on MissBimbo.com. After reading it, I immediately went on the site and created my own bimbo to see what all the fuss was about. After bimboing my way through several games of Sudoku, some IQ puzzles and a few word games (and racking up some bimbo dollars while was at it), I went clothes shopping. Seriously, I found the whole experience totally salubrious.
-- Wikinews reports that the Church of Scientology has issued a legal threat to wikileaks.org, the site that stockpiles leaked government and corporate information and often refuses to take it down. The material in question this time is Scientology's secret, high-level scripture (The Operating Thetan documents) that are thought to cost church parishioners many thousands of dollars.
