Sarah Palin claims Paul Revere warned the British

Sarah Palin, if you haven't heard, is taking some of her family around the country, visiting historical U.S. landmarks, and talking to the media along the way.

Thursday her "One Nation" traveling road show stopped in Boston, where the former Alaska governor, her parents, her husband, and little Piper visited Paul Revere's house, the Old North Church, and Bunker Hill. Palin posted photos of that leg of her trip on the SarahPAC blog.

One moment that you won't find posted on the blog is Palin's response to reporters when they asked her who Paul Revere was. Instead of saying, "Come on, everyone knows who Paul Revere, the silversmith and patriot is," she stammered while saying this:

"He who warned, uh, the British that they weren’t gonna be takin’ away our arms, uh, by ringing those bells, and um, makin' sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be sure and we were going to be free, and we were going to be armed."

Needless to say, the lamestream media are having a field day with that gaffe.

Politico: Palin makes Bachmann look like Longfellow

Forbes: This certainly gives us an entirely new point of view to consider when examining our nation’s founding.

Mediaite: Palin’s version wasn’t exactly the official History Channel rendition of the tale...

ABC: Perhaps this week's lesson in the annals of American history was necessary for Sarah Palin.

Fox News has the video up leading their site, but no text or commentary. Perhaps they're speechless.

All of this reminds me of a fortune cookie I once received that said, "We teach what we most need to learn." In which case, ride on, "One Nation," ride on.

It took another newspaper, The Boston Herald, to set the record straight, of course. Sorry, LA Times lemmings.

Herald headline:
"Experts back Sarah Palin’s historical account You betcha she was right!"

In fear of comments with URLs getting rejected, you can Google it yourselves. Now, let's hear the rush of comments including 'she didn't mean what she said' or 'she was unknowingly lucky'.

I'm no Palin fan, but can see great bias in the media when gaffs like Obama's recent signing of the Westminster Abbey Guest Book with the date "24 May 2008" or during a campaign stop, he claimed America has 51 states gets no coverage. But that's because his mind is so more advanced than the average mortal's, his signing hand and mouth can't keep up, right? Pheww!

If all of you really, really, really smart liberals will bother to go to you will find that indeed Paul Revere did do just exactly as Sarah Palin said. Now, if you would have bothered to do a little independent research you before popping off, you, ABC, Politic, Forbes and others would not have to look like you're just plain ol' stupid right now.

how dumd can you get if she somehow became the head of this country we would all have to move to another country, she would trade us for a bowl of bread pudding she is stupid, simple, she needs to go back to alaska and chase bears ans deer

I want to nominate Sarah Palin to be the honorary Miss Teenage South Carolina of 2011. She seems completely oblivious to her own confusion. I have owned several pets who were smarter than Gov. Palin and not all of them were mammals.

Actually, she was right and the lame stream is the fool here. Go check your history books you elitist snobs!

When you consider that the typical American voter does all they can to avoid learning much of anything during twelve years plus of FREE education - none of them need to make fun of Palin. Remember when nearly every high school graduate knew when to use "their" and "there". It is not the US Public Education System that has failed - it is (instead) a failure of American parenting and American Culture.

The men need to learn to use their head not what they would like to use.

Experts back Sarah Palin’s historical account

Palin insisted yesterday on Fox News Sunday she was right: “Part of his ride was to warn the British that were already there. That, hey, you’re not going to succeed. You’re not going to take American arms.”

In fact, Revere’s own account of the ride in a 1798 letter seems to back up Palin’s claim. Revere describes how after his capture by British officers, he warned them “there would be five hundred Americans there in a short time for I had alarmed the Country all the way up.”

Boston University history professor Brendan McConville said, “Basically when Paul Revere was stopped by the British, he did say to them, ‘Look, there is a mobilization going on that you’ll be confronting,’ and the British are aware as they’re marching down the countryside, they hear church bells ringing — she was right about that — and warning shots being fired. That’s accurate.”

Article Boston Herald

So Donald Trump didn't know what the 13 stripes on the American flag were and Sarah Palin doesn't know about Paul Revere's ride.... this is why people don't believe anything a Republican says about being for the constitution, patriotic, or anything else.

LA Times shows it's typical liberal bias by smearing Governer Palin as usual. That is why far more people watch the news on Fox. For your infromation, no one can say for sure that Paul Revere didnt ring a bell, and he DID warn the British because theyu would of heard him just like the Americans did. Liberals is so scaired of Palin because they know she would easily defeat the porch monkey in the White House.

She was right. Blahahahahahahah. So what does this mean? You all must be idiots for not knowing this information. How does it feel? Keith Olberman need to change it to, "This woman is an idiot . . . but she's smarter than all of you."

The question was: "What did you learn about Paul Revere today?" Tricky ...

Her response was: "He who warned the British that they weren’t going to be taking away our arms by ringing those bells and making sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free and we were going to be armed."

Did Revere ring any bells or make sure to send any warning shorts or bells as he was riding through his horse through town? The answer is no. Her statement is nonsense.

Revere did give some useful intelligence to the British about the number of armed colonists they could expect to encounter, but he didn't warn them that they weren't going to be taking away their arms. You could selectively quote from her answer, ignoring everything she said in between, as "He warned the British [...] that we were going to be armed", but that would be a bit disingenous, wouldn't it?

Palin is 100% correct. Revere was captured by the British during his "to arms" ride. He warned his captors that they British Army would not get the colonist Militia guns they had stored. But the as usual the lamestream is MIA on a retraction.

Poor Sarah was simply remaining on message and defending her right to bear arms and using the iconic silversmith to promote the NRA agenda to expose our biceps constitutionally. Longfellow knew and revered Paul for warning the regulars not to tread on usuns. Like Syria's Assad, Paul was just giving the Brits a heads up that the armed terrorist out in the boonies were a bunch of hooligans, rats, and armed gangs bent on destroying culture, civilization, god and country as they knew it. And he rode his trusty Harley-Davidson out past Harvard and MIT viralize his brand.

Thank God for Ms. Palin. This is just one more vivid illustration of the incompetence that is readily accepted and embraced within the GOP environment. Romney has made similar gaffs in his feable and transparent attempts at self promotion.

I can rest easy knowing that the man that is in the oval office, shall remain there after the next election. Keep up the good work GOP. You are the single best weapon for the Democrats!
