Steve Wynn politely calls Obama a liar; Neil Cavuto laughs and says the billionaire makes a lot of sense
Steve Wynn, the billionaire casino mogul, says that even though his business is doing better this year compared with last year, the White House is not telling the whole truth when it says the economy is improving.
"Baloney is being slung at the American people," Wynn complained.
"It's a very misleading thing that is happening," Wynn told Fox Business' Neil Cavuto Wednesday morning, explaining that the people who frequent his fancy resorts are able to adjust to the current economic climates easier than the middle class employees who work for him. "Everything is more expensive. So the living standard of the working people -- of the middle class of America -- is being materially deteriorating because of the fiscal policies of our government," Wynn said.
When asked by Cavuto if Wynn is reacting to the cool-down of the "the devil-may-care" ways of corporate culture or factors that pre-date the current administration, Wynn turned his attention to President Obama, specifically, and how he is presented by the media.
"You guys on television use the term 'disingenuous' when the president talks about -- says something that isn't true," Wynn said on the cable show.
"That's a fancy word for lying," Wynn said, which got a chuckle out of Cavuto.
"Nobody from the government ever talks about what they're taking away from the working people of this country," Wynn continued. "I think the most important thing that has to be done is the truth has to come out. The populist rhetoric is very carefully designed to hide the truth. And I find it annoying and disappointing that it's happened that way."
Cavuto replied with a compliment. "Wow, Steve, you made more sense in a few minutes than folks I've had on my show over a course of a few days," the Fox host said.
Wynn concluded his appearance by challenging anyone "that has the gumption to stand up and tell the truth" to a debate.
"We're seeing in the public forum, especially when the president speaks, more baloney being slung at the American people than I can remember in my 69 years of living," Wynn said. "There's no polite way of putting it when a man who went to Harvard stands up and dishes out malarkey. I mean, it's just not true."
Wynn is no stranger to speaking negatively about Obama in public. In February 2010, Wynn appeared on the Rush Limbaugh program where the radio host asked him if he felt optimistic about the next few years.
"There are more questions afoot in this market in America that will impact '11 than I have hair on my head, I'm happy to say, and I still have a full head of hair," Wynn joked. "I have more pessimism than I've had before, and it's based upon the political environment in which we are living today. And it definitely is impacting Las Vegas. The president of the United States hasn't missed one single opportunity to squelch Las Vegas," Wynn stated.

Bravo to Steve Wynn! Finally, someone puts things in perspective. How refreshing. I agree with him. Why don't Americans take the wax out of their ears and the blinders off their eyes.
The news spinners just don't give us the facts, they 'spin' things and finally Neil Cavuto had the courage and brains to let someone speak out and make some sense!

Who are the rich Obama? 250,000 yearly, when living in California doesn't make a family rich.

Mr Wynn as we call him at Wynn Las Vegas is brilliant..!!!! Listen to him; he understands and can offer solutions.!!

I am confused is Mr. Wynn saying that Obama is out to help the rich on the backs of the working class? Because if he is, keeping tax cuts for the middle class and letting tax cuts for the rich expire is an odd way way to oppress the working man.
It sounds more like he doesn't like the president but can't make a coherent argument so falls back on name calling.
PS. If some one can't get by on $250,000 ( five times what the average American earns) then maybe they need to rethink their own spending policies before trying to solve the nations problems.

Obama the Liar.

The other day a lady at one of President Obama's townhall meetings asked him about fixing Social Security... he said that a bit of tweaking has to be done, but Social Security is going to be fine with that little bit of tweaking... I would like to ask a followup... what do you mean Mr. President by tweaking?... can you explain in detail?

Craig apparently shares Obama's vision of the American dream. Come to America where everybody should be satisfied with "getting by". That's what made this country great. You can't get by just anywhere ya know?
Gee, thanks for allowing us to get by Craig and Obama. You are indeed benevolent dictators.

Mr. Wynn is incredibly insightful! It's very refreshing to hear someone speak the truth instead of repeating the same set of bullet-points over and over again. If going to harvard does nothing more for you than teach you how to memorize a few sentences and see the world from a single point of view, I'd rather be an uneducated simpleton

Hey craig - if the US govt cant get by on what it takes in, maybe it should reconsider its spending policies...
Also, its not about "getting by." you are missing the point entirely. its about i invested a lot of money that i had to borrow to pay for school and grad school. Why should i not be allowed to achieve a profit on my investment? and try living in new york on that much with a family... not as easy as you think bub.
the function of government is NOT the re-distribution of wealth... we have seen that movie before. The Russians moved off that model and now the chinese are slowly moving off that model b/c they realize that economic system does not work over the long term. if you want to go live in finland or sweden, be my guest.

Obama lied, people died.

@Craig - please get a clue. The question isn't whether people who make $250k can "get by" but rather what they do with their money and whether the government has any business telling them that it knows better how to spend it. Many are small businesses and entrepreneurs who put that capital immediately to work in growing their businesses. Take more away in taxes and they're not "getting by" but they're unable to grow businesses that provide jobs. Lesson #2, Wynn is talking about "fiscal policy" and not tax policy. Obviously you didn't get an economics education, so here it is in a nutshell: the middle class is being squeezed by inflation, including high gas prices. This is what happens when you borrow too much, as Obama and the Dems did these past two years. The only way to catch up with your debt and inflamed interest rates when you're a nation is to print more money, which is an inflationary practice since the money doesn't actually reflect real wealth in the country -- the GDP hasn't grown but the monetary supply has. That inflates the currency at home and devalues it abroad. That has the added risk of causing the currency to lose its value as the world's "reserve" currency since a devalued dollar is meaningless for people to keep in reserve as a safe currency. And if the dollar is no longer a safe reserve currency, people will start dumping it which, in turn, will screw our nation's bond rating... and it becomes an inescapable downward spiral that could literally destroy the economy. But that's too complicated for liberals who just want to focus on the handy soundbite of "DON'T BALANCE THE BUDGET ON THE BACKS OF THE POOR! NO TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH!" Facile garbage. Get a clue. Go back to school.

Wow, talk about hitting the nail on the head. With the devaluation of the dollar and rising inflation we're all being hit with a 10-20% silent tax hike as a direct result of the fiscal policies of the federal government. Craig, Mr. Wynn's point is that the rich are easily able to absorb the rising prices, the middle class and poor are not.

I'm not college educated but I have known this for years, but still our government does the same thing every year

Wynn can't be too smart, he voted for Obama.
Posted by: redmanrt | April 21, 2011 at 09:47 AM
Many in the U.S. need to wake up. The state of things right now is to DISCREDIT businessmen who have built something from nothing and GIVE CREDIT to a President or leaders who have built nothing. Meaning nothing in their life, writing a couple of books and being a graduate from Harvard does not make you great. Taking that education and building something worthwhile does.
Our President couldn't hold the briefcases of Steve Wynn or Donald Trump among many others.

Those that would defend Obama are defending a warmonger who has broken a dozen or more of his core promises to the voting public who supported him. His invasion disguised as a NATO/Africom endeavor is typical Obama. A wolf in sheep's clothing. This man is not innately brilliant, he is the Chauncey Gardener of the American regime. A creature of the media that owns him, the military industrial complex that owns him, a handy ideologue that has hired those of his ilk to spread the big government ruse. He is no more than a useful idiot for the many wealthy, truly powerful, and elitist people in the world who "support" him. Gaddafi is oppressing his people? Look at the Saudi royal family that suffocates their society. I see no invasions of Saudi Arabia, why is that so? Obama has selective blindness and is a total tool of those who know how to pull his chain. He has unknown origins, has hidden his pertinent information, and truly believes the American public is soooooooo stupid that they can be easily flummoxed by him. And, you know what?, the American public would rather be satiated by the likes of the Charlie Sheen/Lindsay Lohan/Snoop Doggie Dog fiascos than the real truth. Americans, awake! Learn about this traitor in our midst.

We need more people like Wynn and Trump laying out the facts for the public and cutting through the clatter of the lame stream media.
Posted by: barry | April 21, 2011 at 11:08 AM
Amen Mr. Wynn, Amen.
As a conservative, I don't need political talking points to remind me I have a pulse, or keep my ire up from time to time.
What we NEED is someone to take on the man-child-in-chief directly and SPEAK STRAIGHT TO THE ISSUES currently destroying our country.
Those segments on Cavuto were priceless.
Bravo.

The presidency has no real push or pull. It's simply a "wizard position". We the people have no real say in what is accomplished so why not let the politicians go about their business and keep on carrying water and chopping wood?

@Wade Major
Brilliant Wade, you summed it up perfectly and people do not get it!
We are being driven into 3rd World status by corrupt monetary policy coupled with insane and reckless spending.
There is NO recovery and there will not be unless those two change.
The jobs are not coming back.
Gas is going to go up and won't be coming back down.
Food prices will continue to skyrocket. Been to a fast food joint lately and try to get a meal for under $5? Try $6-8 for what used to be under $5.
This is only mild inflation compared to what may come down the road.
Obama is not your savior. He's a stooge for the bankers like every other president we've had for the past 30 years or more.
But that's okay, go back to American Idol while everything collapses around you and the police state grid is put in place. When you finally realize what happened, it will be too late to rebel, everything will be ready to throw you in the paddy wagon and cart you off to the home for malcontents.
"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward."

He was right on- it is the middle class that are suffering and this administration is going to destroy it at this rate.

i doubt "a casino mogul" can judge the state of national economy basing on the state of his business (i.e. on the amount of money people left in jeje arcade machines)

Wynn is right. Barry Soetero (aka B.Hussein Obama) is a liar and 98% of his nativity story written about in his two books (neither of which he wrote either) is a lie. Now we have a usurper in office that is taking our nation over a financial cliff from which it will be difficult, if not impossible, to ever recover. I listened to Steve Wynn's interview intently and I can tell he cares a great deal about the people in his organization as well as those folks living in and around Las Vegas. Wouldn't it be nice to have a President who feels the same way about the folks that make up the USA. Unfortunately, we have someone in office that cares only about promoting their socialist agenda and who looks with contempt on American as being "clingers to bibles and guns". Sad but true...wake up America, before it is too late.

WHILE THE MIDDLE CLASS HAS BEEN BEGGARED IN THE PAST FIVE YEARS, THE POOR HAVE BEEN DEVASTATED. THE BREAD AND BUTTER ISSUES: JOBS, HOUSING AND INFLATION WILL BRING DOWN THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION. WHEN YOU TELL A MAN WITH TEN KIDS TO BUY A PRIUS TO CUT GAS EXPENSES, YOU ARE NOT LIVING IN THE REAL WORLD.
Posted by: DANSHANTEAL | April 21, 2011 at 03:02 PM
Steve Wynn was right on the mark in this interview. Then at the end he said "unfortunately I voted for Obama".
Wow, scary......what did he think Obama was going to do?? Didn't he tell us he was going to spread the wealth around. Couldn't he tell by his friends and minister what kind of leftist he was voting for.

The compulsive liar who cavorts about as the fictional leader of our Nation has initiated his campaign comedy routine to falsely demonize his opponents; while, methodically attempting to obscure the abject failures of his divisive and destructive policies. Policies that have forced our Nation into an inexorable decline. In brief, to avoid another 2010 wipeout, the Democrats must construct a scenario wherein the Republicans take the fall for: Obama's doubling of the National debt in just a single term in office; continued debt growth at universally recognized unsustainable levels; exposure of the fact that his 'Stimulus" was nothing more then a tax-payer subsidized slush fund to reward his political supporters; real unemployment at record levels; proportion of our population actually employed at a record low; food-stamp recipients at record levels; child poverty at record levels; home mortgage defaults at record levels; obfuscation of real-inflation numbers by elimination of food and energy costs from the index compilation which has been used to justify the elimination of Social Security COLAs; Government bureaucrat employment at record levels; consumer confidence at a record low; the willful destruction of America's energy sector; federal consumption at a record level of 25% of our GDP; Obama's fumble on the goal line in Libya; a president who was willing to sacrifice the financial security of American military personnel to pressure his political opponents to accept his spendthrift agenda, and even labeled combat veterans as "selfishness" for their reluctance to carry private health insurance to pay for treatment of their combat injuries; the contemptible refusal to defend America's Southern border; universal contempt and ridicule of our sitting president by world leaders; the obliteration of the American $ as a world currency, while concurrently the outlook for the fiscal security of America's debt obligations are at a record LOW; and, the greatest tragedy of all, the virtual imprisonment of future American generations with the debt obligations incurred by Obama's proliferating spending levels. Not really a factual record that the Dems want illuminated before the American electorate. Greg Neubeck

It never fails to amaze me how liberals think Obama can do anything when he has literally done NOTHING and in the same breath bash a guy like Wynn who has built billion dollar businesses.

Mr. Wynn simply points out that Barack "All Talk" Obama is conservative with the truth.
If everyone were to refer to President Obama as Barack All Talk Obama, his presidential "brand" will be tainted and he will never win the next presidential election.
If you ask Obama's supporters, those who agreed they made the mistake of voting for him, and those who did not, they would agree that Obama is nothing but "All Talk".
Our country's president is now known as Barack All Talk Obama. Get the word out. He will then never win the election.
