Dog bites man: Obama's 2012 reelection campaign announcement video

Fact: Sen. John F. Kennedy announced his presidential campaign on Jan. 3,  of the 1960 election year. He won and became only the second sitting senator in U.S. history to move into the White House.

This time everybody is saying things are starting so late in the 2012 presidential campaign. But election day is still 19 months away come Wednesday.

President Obama's campaign says it needs $1 billion to re-convince Americans that the third sitting senator to become president is the real hope and change guy. And there's still so much to do and money to spend.

But first comes the money-raising part. And coincidentally, the second quarter of 2011 starts Monday for political fundraising and reporting. A large reported number at....

...the end of June might impress some people, scare some others and stop all this media mumbling about Obama's vulnerability just because the unemployment is still big and there's a third war going.

So, as expected, the incumbent officially announced his reelection campaign early this morning with a video.

Here it is:

Oh, no wait.

That was the sales campaign video template.

Here's the real Obama announcement video:

Hey, give the guy a break. This is his second rodeo. And there are only so many ways you can do a predictable tah-dah video.

In an accompanying e-mail the Democrat says he's got to start early because real change takes a long time. And, not to worry, he's still really focused on the job he has right now.

Which is the same job he'd like to have after Jan. 20, 2013.

Sorry, Barry, you're one and done. You were careful to leave no paper trail prior to 2008, but now that we've had a good, long look at your ideology, most of us have recoiled in horror. You'll only get 43% of the vote no matter how much you spend.

Go on Obama, you took office but you didn't stop campaigning. You will make promises, tell lies, cheat, bribe, steal votes, get donations from groups like acorn, and get help from America's foreign enemies, because you kiss their a**es. Go on, raise a billion dollars in donations, from people you have fooled with your slick talk and lies, then BUY yourself another 4 year term. You let others try to lead and do YOUR JOB while you read from a teleprompter, jet around the world, play golf, basketball, other sport, and, vacation and party at the White House. America doesn't have a president now, if people vote for Obama again, i guess America won't have a president another 4 years. Shame.

can anyone tell the definition of "natural born Citizen" in the Constitution?

regardless of what country your original parent was a citizen of (Britain)

what does that also mean when you are adopted by an Idonesian later?

Well, he'll need all that money for Hillary's primary challenge, right Andrew?

Hee!

And I see "Shame" and larry have chimed in with the teabagger/dittohead/birther talking points. Nice!

This is gonna be a fun election!

Well, let's see what position he takes this time. Is he going to be honest and campaign as a socialist, left wing liberal, or is he going to try and pull the wool over everyone's eyes again and campaign like a moderate and claim to be a Christian when it's obvious he isn't?

Devry Institute?

I get it. I'd say it's like an ad for Milk of Magnesia. Yeah, sit on that bowl, let out all that Tea Party fury, you'll feel better. Then take a nice nap.

Tea Partiers on warm milk and a chill pill. I guess that's his strategy.

He's doing it to scare off potential Republican candidates who might have a chance to be competitiv¬e. It's sound political strategy even if it's a bit tone def.

I voted for Obama in 2008; it was only a few weeks after his inauguration that I said, "Oops! I soon found that although he gave beautiful speeches, that was his only forte. He is not a leader, he is incompetent, clueless, and seems to enjoy the perks of the Presidency more than leading. In short, he is a disaster. I hope Hillary runs against him this time.

The man just doesn't get it. He stinks and that's that. If the American voter puts him back in office then they deserve what they get. I for one will never
endorse the treasonous son-of-a-gun.

The very idea he's in the white house makes me want to puck.

Elected officials are here to serve, it is not a job. Once you have served you then return to whatever job or business you had prior. Mr. Obama, I don't beleive you have the best interest of the American prople in mind. I can only hope and pray that enough Americans realize that and elect a president in 2012 who is a servant leader. One who is concerned about the important issues like eliminating our national debt by being fiscally responsible and our nations security.

This ad gave no reason for us to re-elect President Obama. Like the 44th President's speeches, this sounds good, but lacks any substance. The people in this spot say that there are still things left to be done, but didn't state what those things are, and why is Obama the best person to make these things happen?

Yeah, he's accomplished a lot. When he took office, gasoline was $1.83 a gallon and now it's over $4 a gallon, yet he still refuses to let us drill more off our shores and in the oil shales in Colorado.

The 1,100 page $800 billion dollar stimulus package was passed (without any of the members reading what was in it) when unemployment was 8 percent, today it is 9 to 10 percent.

The 2,700 page "affordable" patient and "protection" act that again we the people read and they the congress didn't was shoved down our throats despite the fact that in poll after poll, the majority of Americans while wanting reform, didn't want this bill. Now we've found out it funds 15,000 new IRS agents, requires 1099s be filled out by small businesses for every $600 in purchases and forcing people to buy health insurance that meets the governments stringent requirements.

Yes, we have to purchase car insurance if we drive a car, but not everyone drives a car and when we purchase insurance, we have choices about how much coverage or how little we want to buy. Not so with this bill which requires a one size fits all.

What this bill doesn't have is TORT reform. The reason medical care is so much is that it is too easy for trial lawyers to file frivolous lawsuits. It needs to be made more difficult for these lawyers to sue and it should be a loser pays all costs so it will make them think twice before filing. Also, President Obama mentioned in one of his speeches that there are over 1,300 health insurance companies, yet we in CA are only allowed to choose from 6 of them. This bill doesn't cut the red tape that currently forbids us to buy from an out of state insurance company or to carry that insurance with you should you move to another state.

Finally with 2,700 pages who knows what other bureaucratic legalese is in this bill that will ad several trillions more to our debt. One thing for sure is that right now those of us who do have insurance are paying a whole lot more for it, something President Obama "promised" would not happen. He said we would be paying less.

Well, the RNC missed the chance to say "not all change is good" in the last campaign but maybe now they can say "change for the better"!

to the poster,Ronald, I'd like to say that I feel you're very brave to say that you voted for Obama in 2008 and that you made a mistake. I hope MANY Americans who may not admit it but will know it when it comes time for the 2012 election!
