Charles Manson thinks Barack Obama is 'a slave of Wall Street'
Billionaire Donald Trump recently proclaimed he is the Democrats' worst nightmare, but it's hard to imagining someone more frightening than Charles Manson ending a 20-year silence to call you out.
The 76-year-old spoke recently to Spain's Vanity Fair magazine on the 40th anniversary of his conviction in the Sharon Tate and LaBianca murders.
President Barack Obama is "a slave of Wall Street," the diminutive cult leader said by telephone from Corcoran State Prison to journalist David Lopez.
"He doesn't realize what they are doing. They are playing with him," Manson said of Obama. The president recently was being petitioned by Manson's lawyer, Giovanni Di Stefano, to free the iconic killer, who has been incarcerated since 1969. That request was refused.
When he wasn't proclaiming how "bad" he is, Manson rambled about how people need to pay attention to the enviornment and global warming.
"Everyone's God, and if we don’t wake up to that, there’s going to be no weather because our polar caps are melting because we’re doing bad things to the atmosphere," Manson warned.
"If we don't change that as rapidly as I’m speaking to you now, if we don’t put the green back on the planet and put the trees back that we’ve butchered, if we don’t go to war against the problem...' he said before trailing off.

Stop covering this psychotic deranged mass murderer's lunatic ravings !

hey, media? NO ONE WANTS TO HEAR WHAT CHARLES MANSON THINKS. STOP GIVING THIS MONSTER A VOICE. Thanks.
Posted by: jack johnson | April 21, 2011 at 07:42 AM
Who Cares What Charles Manson has to say. Why give a moronic lunatic a forum to speak and be heard?
If the News Media has nothing else to do, then you need to reevaluate your priorities.

who cares what this sick dirt wad thinks? His mind is full of deranged evil. He should have been executed long ago.

It takes one to know one.
Posted by: rowley | April 21, 2011 at 07:54 AM
It is sad when even Charles Manson can see the truth about Obama and is the voice of reason. LOL.

LA Times, way to keep up your standards!/sarc off
Posted by: JayCeezy | April 21, 2011 at 08:08 AM
Precisely why is this lunatic even being listened to? Doesn't the media have nothing better to do than perpetuate the insane ramblings of a convicted multiple murderer? Manson's opinions are moot. Stop even referring to him, he's made his bed, why should anyone have to lie down with him in it? Seriously...why is this news?
Posted by: Michael C. | April 21, 2011 at 08:17 AM
Why do we care what a deranged, convicted murderer says about anything? Has the news industry really fallen that far that they have to give credibility and attention to someone like Charles Manson?
Posted by: D Spell | April 21, 2011 at 08:18 AM
What's next, Manson writes an Op-ed for the New York Times? If we're going to listen people in jail, frankly I'd rather hear what Phil Spector has to say, he's more interesting.
Posted by: Old Father Time | April 21, 2011 at 08:20 AM
He never killed anyone and can have an opinion like everyone else. He's crazy as a coon, but some of what he says has merit.
Posted by: G-Man | April 21, 2011 at 08:21 AM
Political commentary from Andrew Malcolm - Really? I'm to take your writing seriously when you use sensationalism and a psycho to support your assertions? Then again, I see you write for the LA Times, a Liberal paper not interested in providing actual news. Why did I land here you ask? Because the story appeared in a political search and I realized that someone needs to say out loud what I, and others, are thinking.

He's psychotic, but does have a point about Obama.
Posted by: Anon | April 21, 2011 at 08:35 AM
Happy 40th anniversary to America's most deranged vicious psychopath. The drugs have really taken the toll on Manson - he's worried about the environment but was involved with absolutely brutal and heinous crimes. It is unfortunate he wasn't executed.
Posted by: Tsiu Marpo | April 21, 2011 at 08:41 AM
Why would anyone care what this murderous criminal has to say about anything. You might as well ask the cat.
Posted by: Mike in AZ | April 21, 2011 at 08:43 AM
Who the hell cares what CHARLES MANSON thinks. Do you?
Posted by: Cloudman | April 21, 2011 at 08:49 AM
Shame on the LA Times editor for giving Charles Manson a forum!
Posted by: Ob Server | April 21, 2011 at 08:54 AM
Solid proof that the media in this country has died. It has been replaced by the state run media propaganda machine.
How in the world does ANYTHING Charles Manson thinks or says or does merit the slightest bit of mention or coverage by the media?
Posted by: ricardo maxwell | April 21, 2011 at 09:00 AM
This guy Manson rotting in the prison is more worried about global warming and wall street instead of his freedom and the lives he has taken and destroyed.
Donald Trump is just another snake oil sales man trying to sell himself to the stupid among us as a President material. Manson and Donald both are basically the fringe element of our society. Manson is a murderer and and Donald is con man. It's amazing to see how many fools fall for these stupid tactics.

I thought it was aganst the law to use the word (slave) in any comments made about a black man?
I know there is not much that doesn't offend them, especially taking care of their kids and holding a job but this headline surprised me?

I'm so glad the Times here thinks so much of a brutal killer on death row they give him a platform to speak on yet they routinely censor the commentary of non pc non violent non criminals all day long on their website here.
Sick leftists.

Why should we give space and time to what Charles Manson says .. jeezum
Posted by: Ian | April 21, 2011 at 09:27 AM
This is why arguments that "the liberal media is just a liberal crazy liberal broken record" slightly miss the bullseye (they're often still hitting the board, though). The media prints what SELLS PAPERS. No Democrat would want this psycho for a spokesman.
Posted by: Jimmy | April 21, 2011 at 09:31 AM
Just when I thought East Coast "journalism" was inane, along comes this....Who bleeping cares what this guy thinks? Even Drudge ought to get whacked for this. Talk about the dumbing down of America, how about the dumbing down or total irrelevance of the LA Times? Why are you even giving this guy a platform? And please, I'm begging you, please, don't call it "journalism" it's like calling insanity "an alternative reality"...Whatever editor thought this "newsworthy" is a moron. But I suppose, in LA-LA land it's all about "celebrity". Someone ought to cut SoCal off the continent and let it float out to sea.

Well, if Charlie says so. It's pretty bad when someone like Manson knows the prez is an idiot.

He had me about Obama & Wall Street, but then I see he's the typical liberal tree hugging moron, but has no problem killing babies!

Pretty funny a guy who's been locked up for decades can recognize this usurper for what he is while the sheeple continue to eat up his campaign slogans.
Posted by: SubjectoftheUSSA | April 21, 2011 at 10:18 AM
Manson? Well now...there's a real sage of our time. Pay attention people!
Posted by: RWAgenda | April 21, 2011 at 10:24 AM
Why, exactly, should anyone care what Charles Manson thinks? He's an uneducated, psychopathic, murderer who has spent 90% of his life in prison. While I am no fan of Pres. Obama, I don't think that he has anything to worry about as a result of Manson's rantings. Why would the Times even see fit to print what Charles Manson thinks about ANYTHING???
Posted by: Jack Meyhoffer | April 21, 2011 at 10:26 AM
Why suddenly all this coverage about a man who masterminded the murder of so many innocent people? What value does this cockroach have? Why should anyone listen to the trash he spews. Why is this piece of dirt even allowed to live?
Posted by: Alice Polarbear | April 21, 2011 at 10:26 AM
What does Charlie think about the Dodgers chances of winning the NL West this season?
Posted by: Jack Meyhoffer | April 21, 2011 at 10:28 AM
I guess Charlie doesn't have Fox Business on his cable hookup, or he would have seen it years ago...
Posted by: HeckSpawn | April 21, 2011 at 10:31 AM
Why do you guys write about this nut case killer? Why don't you spend more time doing investigative journalism about how our government is screwing up...The big G under O is not doing well at all.
I demand my 15 min back.

Who Cares about what this lunitic thinks! Pelsoi, Reed and Obama are almost as crazy as this guy.
Posted by: Machismo | April 21, 2011 at 10:42 AM
looks like people at the press are all useless tools to give this MONSTER time .Its about time the press examine their attitudes.Totally pathetic.
Posted by: RICHARD POULIN | April 21, 2011 at 10:55 AM
HOW CAN THE LA TIMES CLAIM TO BE A RESPONSIBLE MEMBER OF THE PRESS IF THEY DEVOTE INK TO GRATIFYING THE EGO OF A LUNATIC LIKE MANSON? (Yes, I know that using all caps is the equivalent of shouting.)
This evil being should be left to rot in ignominy, alone and ignored. A guy like that hates being ignored. After what he did, how can anyone justify feeding his outsize ego in any manor. Cage him like the animal he is, ignore him for his remaining life and say as little as possible about him when the sorry little bastard dies. He deserves no joy of believing anyone might take him seriously.
For those who argue that he never killed anyone with his own hands, lets remember that Hitler didn't kill millions with his own hands either. Same for Stalin and Mao. Manson didn't kill a lot of people but used his charismatic influence over his minions to commit awful murders. If some how he could be executed, millions could be raised by auctioning or raffling off the opportunity to flip the switch.

Ole Charley may be crazy as a sh*t house rat but his philosophy and politics fit right in with the BO administration. Obama should free Crazy Charley and make him a Czar in charge of prison reform. I'm not kidding. He really should do it.
Posted by: Boogie | April 21, 2011 at 11:29 AM
I think, LA times is wrong both of these men. Trump sayswhat he thinks, does things what he wants to do, makes as most profit as he can as a businessman. Manson has the title and imprisoned for what he has done. Unlike Obama - disgrace, dishornest, mischaraterized, misled, lied, deceive, and a whole lot of bad things which either dump, stupid or ignorant and arrogant said, turned, twisted, convoluted things to glorify the cruel, cold and calculated obama ! It time for you guys to tell people a little truth to the Americans. It is your business to do so and that is my oppions and I don't have any things to trust you
Posted by: tom | April 21, 2011 at 11:29 AM
A lot of informed people believe that Obama is in Wall Street's pocket -- for good reason: Wall Street was Obama's biggest financial contributor.
One day our popular media, those tireless, valiant seekers of truth (*cough*), will quote such an informed person (and run an insightful corresponding analysis) instead of quoting a demented historical artifact to generate page views.
Posted by: andre | April 21, 2011 at 11:31 AM
Charles Manson coments on Obama slave to Wall Street
Charlie Sheen comments on Obama as a birther
Justin Bieber comments on Obamacare
Hard to say which of the aforementioned opinion is the most meaningless, But not hard to say any of the media outlets promoting such drivel are total hacks. *
*Or, futher proof that a cold-war era virus that caused people to be stupid was released in the US. It would explain a lot.
Posted by: Tom Genin | April 21, 2011 at 11:35 AM
What does Manson think about the crashing dollar, the threat of HYPERINFLATION? What about the price of OIL that will hit $200? What about SILVER that will hit $100 and beyond? Obama is irrelevant he has been told by the elite to crash the world economy...as we soak in Radiation. Is that gloomy enough for you? That's the truth kids.
Posted by: thecomingdepression | April 21, 2011 at 11:38 AM
Well, once again Mr. Manson comes close to the truth but inserts his racist view that African-American people are puppets into it. He's right that Mr. Obama is a slave of Wall Street, but I take issue with the follow-up statement. "He doesn't know what they're doing." I suppose Mr. Manson is still thinking through his Helter Skelter prism of African-Americans beings the white man's lackeys and not knowing how to run things, but Mr. Obama is not the simpleton he thinks. Mr. Obama is perfectly aware of what he is doing. He appointed his advisers, after all.
Posted by: Rob | April 21, 2011 at 11:38 AM
Finally! Something I can agree on with Manson.
The man-child-in-chief must go.
The U.S. economy has suffered enough. No more.
Posted by: GoodOleBoy | April 21, 2011 at 11:41 AM
So what you're saying - Charlie (Charles) still has moments of lucidity.
Posted by: Crazy as a cow | April 21, 2011 at 11:44 AM
This is not fare. In America racism is not acceptable. The republican should take good circumstances for their peoples. Obama can do any thing at any time he wants. Everyone should believe his capability.
