Bristol Palin: Being a working mom is exhausting; So, uh, welcome to adulthood

Bristol Palin and partner Mark Ballas rehearse for ABC's Dancing with the stars

Bristol Palin says working (all right, dancing) and being a mom at the same time is "exhausting."

"Mentally, it's exhausting," the 19-year-old tells "Extra." "Physically, it's exhausting. But I'm making it work."

So far, so good. Palin competes again tonight on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars."

Who knows, with Halloween coming this could be a real scary week because, as not quite everyone knows, Bristol and her partner Mark Ballas were among the bottom two last week. And some people know what that means.

The drama builds. But, first, these messages.

B. Palin also reveals that her mother, S. Palin, the professional politician who you may recall is in the rhetorical dancing business, plans to return to watch the show, assuming Bristol survives Tuesday's vote.

In fact, Sarah Palin will be in the Los Angeles area on Saturday to headline an afternoon Republican National Committee Victory Rally in Anaheim, even though the midterm election is not until Nov. 2. Advance tickets cost $20.10; get it? Palin will headline another RNC Victory Rally in Orlando on the following Saturday, Oct. 23.

Meanwhile -- my, isn't this a busy show-biz day? -- comes word that B. Palin is appearing in a new music video for the Alaskan rock band "Static Cycle." She wears a mink coat and hat actually shot by her mother on a long hunting trip. (We made up that hunting part.)

See a brief unedited promo video excerpt below.

I need 2 look it up, but, are Minks endangered? If they are, then Bristol IS better than that. She'll recognize that in the near future. I really blieve that. COME ON, BRISTOL, LETS DANCE BETTER NEXT WEEK. And also Jen Grey. I love u both.

Bashing a 19 year single mom, who ever she may be. Really, you need to go back to playing with your Barbies and Action Toy Figures !!!!!!

If Bristol were not Sarah Palin's daughter she would not be on DWTS. Mama put her out in the public and got her the big bucks on this show and on the speaking tours. Having a baby while a teenager does not qualify you as a celebrity contestant, otherwise they would have had to choose from several million unwed teen mothers. So what if she is an advocate? She still can't dance. She has no rythm, don't teenagers in Alaska dance? I guess it's just hocky, huntin' and having babies.

The Palins set themselves up as targets when they entered public life. I once liked them both, but no more. Sarah takes every opportunity to get into the public eye even at the expense of her children. Bristol is out there dancing as she put it, "in her underwear," and coming across as dumpy, lead footed and sulky. But who could dance with their mother and father in the audience? Why is mom Sarah determined to interject herself into every aspect of the girl's life? Believe me, this is not what most Christians that I know do. What do they want to be: celebs, political leaders or family values role models? Looks like celebs to me and in this country, you can't have it both ways.

Bristol Palin is not doing anything different than most other young people when she takes advantage of the opportunities that come her way through her mother's influence. That is just what most young people do and nepotism is alive and well in America today. Her mother will not be around to do this for her forever, and hopefuly, she will be able to make it on her own by the time that day comes. I am definately NOT a fan of Sarah Palin who I think is a fairly ignorant kook of the highest order. But she has guts, and she has taken HER opportunities and run with them and is now a famous personality who will go down in history, though I doubt the by line will be very flattering. Politically speaking if we can't do better than this, we are really in trouble. Bristol is right, it is hard to do physical workouts every day and then go home to care for a demanding small child. I think she is learning something about stretching her limits and I hope she amazes herself at what she accomplishes. I wish her well.

You people make me laugh--all these comments about how Bristol only got on the show because of her mommy. Um, this IS "Dancing With the Stars," people--NO ONE got here because of their raw talent! ALL these people are here because of their connections and privilege!

Thanks Bristol!

I am sick and tired of hearing about Bristol Palin! I don't think she's a very good example to young women. You get yourself knocked up at a young age and all of a sudden the media is focusing on you because your mommy is running for VP?

And what about these reality shows that star teen moms. I just feel like the media is rewarding this young women for their poor choices. Instead of the parents telling these girls that sex before marriage was bad, they should have been putting them on birth control.

I've voted for Bristol. Takes a lot of courage to get in front of millions and do what she's doing. The media needs to leave Sarah out of this, DWTS is about Bristol!!

Bristol does work......She is office manager for one of the doctors in Anchorage, and she works full time and took time off for this stint. At least she's not on the liberal welfare government money and food stamps.

Is this about the child or the mother? Cause the blog has references to both of them in a very hateful manner yet the Pictures only show the daughter. and the comments are all over the place. i commend this young lady for doing what she has to to raise her child. its not like shes pawning the child off on grandma and grandpa so she can go out and party like so many none famous young parents do. Would it make a difference to you if she was not who she is? I KNOW IT WOULDN'T!!! To each their own. At least this young lady is trying

It's so sad to see the hostility even in the headline of this piece.

For God Sake people, can't we have somedays where we merely concur with one another instead of ripping the heads off of people we disagree with ideologically?

Grow up.
