Bill O'Reilly walked out on during ABC show; Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar help Fox News host with ratings
Bill O'Reilly has done it again.
Why doesn't the world understand him? He's just a simple, understated fellow who wants to be heard by more people watching evening TV talkers. Oh, and btw, he has a new book called "Pinheads and Patriots."
So there he was on Wednesday's "The View" chatting with Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg and the misnamed Joy Behar. And this being New York City and daytime television and not a Charlie Rose interview, producers wanted some heat.
So, naturally, the conversation got around to 9/11 and the plans to build yet another Manhattan mosque in the neighborhood of the demolished World Trade Center towers. O'Reilly suggested that was "inappropriate," not because a neighborhood of bars and strip joints is a strange place to want to build a new place of worship in the name of cultural understanding. Although someone might ask that question someday.
He thinks it's inappropriate because the 9/11 site is where nearly 3,000 people were killed in homicidal plane crashes. Whoops noted 70 Muslims were also killed in the attacks, demanded to know the religion of domestic terrorist Timothy McVeigh and disputed the word "inappropriate."
"Seventy percent of Americans," O'Reilly asserted, "don't want that mosque down there. So don't give me the 'we' business." (Audience applause)
Pressed on why building a mosque near the 9/11 attack site was inappropriate, O'Reilly leaned toward Goldberg and said, "Muslims killed us on 9/11."
"This is such barnyard excrement!" Goldberg said. Except she actually used an eight-letter word for male bovine droppings.
And she and Behar walked off.
Later, after Walters criticized their action during a live show and O'Reilly stated he wasn't denouncing all Muslims, they both returned. Thank goodness.
It's a similar strategy to that used by the Obama White House in 2009 to help Fox News become the most-viewed cable outlet, openly criticizing it by name and driving more curious viewers to check it out.

Another example of erroneous headlines to support a bigoted left wing agenda.
Behar, and Goldberg walked out, not O'Reilly. So much for the myth of intellectual engagement on the extreme left.
Are fact checkers not needed if the story advances an editorial perspective?
Will the LA Times be posting a retraction?

Bill O'Reilly was a surprise guest?
Don't the hosts prepare for their guest with research. Can't they ask questions or make comments that push O'Reilly.
Walking off is what a 16 year old girl would do.
Posted by: arrowrod | October 14, 2010 at 07:13 PM
Mr. O'Reilly might be correct. I travel a lot and I haven't met one good Muslim. Yes, I agree, Muslims are terrorists and a world-wide problem.

Typical Woopie and Jooy-- 2 idiots on the same show. If they had a brain between them they would be down on their knees shooting craps for it. Woopie, keep on acting and Joy, stay on comedy. If both wouldn't use filthy langage all the time their ratings would go up. Also they are so far left liberels, if they leaned any further left, they fall off the earth. O'Reilly is a past master as to getting someone's goat. They fell for it like a ton of bricks. Increased his viewer by 30,000 at least. Fox just loves it, because they can pick and choise the sponcers and how much they pay. The other networks --Eat your heart out!

Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg definitely know about bovine excrement. They are both cows, and every time they open their mouths, flatulence emerges.

Mr. Malcolm are you really suggesting that it was "It's a similar strategy to that used by the Obama White House in 2009 to help Fox News become the most-viewed cable outlet" . I do believe that Fox News was the most watched cable outlet long before 2009. This is just another thing that the "Obama Whitehouse" can not claim as an accomplishment of theirs.

I have always watched "the view" and have recently started watching the" joy behar" show, however, I will no longer watch due the the childness behavior of joy and whoopi! i have never seen elisabeth walked off because all the liberal's took their "pot shots" at her!! shame on you!!
Posted by: joan | October 14, 2010 at 07:53 PM
Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg should pulled off the air. Who do you think was responsible for 9 11? There should not be a mosque built in the entire state of New York or anywhere else. These people are seeking our demise!!!
Posted by: frank | October 14, 2010 at 07:59 PM
Yup--typical liberal reaction. If you have no evidence to support what you are saying, just walk away. Just wish they would have kept on walking. . . .right into Canada. . .

good exercise in free speech girls...and i do mean girls...they have not grown up and will forever remain high school mentality.

"Muslims killed us on 9/11" so no mosque allowed two blocks away (it's a cultural center with athletics and much else, besides a mosque, but let's let that one go, call it a 'mosque')
Let's see, what if a crazed fanatic band of extremists who were Jewish did this, then "Jews killed us on 9/11" would he say?? I don't think so!
Would he also say, "no one should build a synagogue there, and not even two miles away"?? I don't think so! Or else he'd be rightly condemned for it if he did.
It's even more crazy..since extremist Muslims regularly murder the moderate Muslims regularly. All the time. So it's more like, a small but powerful extremist faction of Jews kills Jews regularly, all the time, they kill their fellow Jews in Israel, these extremists, then they kill people, including plenty of Jews, in the US and now no Jew, ever, should build a Synagogue anywhere there, when these Jews, the ones who want to build a synagogue, being the moderate Jews who get killed by the crazy extremist small faction, and they are the ones who want to build a synagogue and then *they* are told they shouldn't do it because, quote, "Jews killed us on 9/11"? Disgusting bigoted people saying that would be rightly condemned.

So all the Muslims who would be offended by Bill's comment, where were they to speak up and rally against Muslim extremism after 9/11? No where. so if you asked the question, who were the men who carried out 9/11? Answer, they were Muslims who wanted Americans dead becasue they are not Muslim. I think it's extemism to not stand up against extremism. I applaud Bill O'reily, and though many love to hate him, what he says makes sense, and I am a housewife who will no longer watch the view because of the impossibly left wing minded Joy and Whoppie. I was glad they walked off set, they do NOT represent the majority of American women, and if they can't have a healthy dicussion...get the hell off the couch and go sit with the extemists and non extremists who refuse to open their mouths against Bin laden. UGH! What the hell are those two thinking! I'm sure in 1939 they would walk off at the discussion of Hitler.

Behar and Goldberg----boorish, knee-jerk liberal has-been entertainers whose "liberalism" doesn't extend to allowing a political opponent to voice a point of view without being openly vilified and then walking out like pouting children. And then the blow-hard pontifications of Barbara Wa-Wa on top of it. Honestly, why does anyone watch this stupid show? And why does Elizabeth Hasselbeck, the only one of the View panel with a brain (and looks) submit herself to the daily idiocy surrounding her? This is just another example of a Sean Penn-like tantrum from the Left. Behar, who is a frequent and open critic of Christianity has no room to criticize O'Reilly for his comments on Muslim terrorism. O'Reilly was right on this issue, Americans are too, and these cretins can't stand it. Elizabeth, you should have left with Bill O!

Posted by: SnapTie | October 14, 2010 at 08:34 PM
O'Reilly will not listen to anyone who doesn't agree with him, like most of the righteous right. When Whoopi and Joy questioned his numbers, he refused to back down. And the anti-Muslim sentiment on this board makes me think that they were right to walk off. Anyone who judges the people flying those planes (and then equates their hatred with ALL Muslims) had better also judge the "Christians" in our military who tortured prisoners, killed innocents, and generally acted just about the same as the 'terrorists.' Is it any wonder a segment of the world hates us...we can be arrogant, entitled, and generally obnoxious as a country. Not Christian at all. And don't give me any bull puckee about 'security' and 'revenge.' Neither word is mentioned by Jesus. And Saddam did a very good job of keeping Iran in check. If you want to blame someone for Iran, try Reagan, who armed them in the first place.
As for the mosque...it's a COMMUNITY CENTER, open to all. There will be a small area for prayer. People need to stop the fear-mongering and just grow up and let the Constitution work. For all our citizens.

While Mr. Andrew Malcom, did not watch the Veiw, carefully enough to see that : It was Ms Goldberg and Ms Behar that walked out. After trying to bait that nice Bill O'Reilly. No wonder that the LA Times is going down hill, after ten years of following and supporting a bigoted left wing agenda. Is there any editors left in the field with the balls to check mistakes and prove facts and comments by there internet staff or are they to lazy to check. Myself, I'm kind of slow, stupid, and unemployed. The hard working blue - collar stiff, who dreams of home, chance for college. I guess the old LA Times is now like George Orwell's Animal farm, replace one agenda with another agenda. Sorry,
about the uneducated comment. I'm just a hard working, unemployed blue -collar stiff that still reads.

I think everyone knows that O'Reilly is controversial guy who never really thinks before he speaks. He just says things to get reactions from people. That's why people love and adore him. I'm pretty sure Behar and Goldberg, so I think they over reacted a bit. But at the same time to say muslims cause 9/11 is just wrong. They are terrorist who highjacked a religion who claim and use it as a reason to attack. Now to think; what if Bin Laden said he was a Christian and god told him to do all those things? what would you people be saying now?

CAN MUSLIMS BE GOOD AMERICANS?
This is very interesting and we all need to read it from start to finish
Maybe this is why our American Muslims are
So quiet and not speaking out about any atrocities. Can a good Muslim be
A good American?
This question was forwarded to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years.
The following is his reply:
Theologically - no. . . .. Because his allegiance is to Allah, The moon God of Arabia .
Religiously - no.. . . Because no other religion is accepted by His Allah - Except Islam (Quran, 2:256)(Koran)
Scripturally - no. . . Because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the Quran.
Geographically - no . Because his allegiance is to Mecca , to which he turns in prayer five times a day.
Socially - no. . . Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.
Politically - no... . . Because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual Leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, The great Satan.
Domestically - no. .. . Because he is instructed to marry four Women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34 )
Intellectually - no. . Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.
Philosophically - no. . . . Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran does not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot Co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.
Spiritually - no.. . . Because when we declare 'one nation under God,' The Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to As Heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in the Quran's 99 Excellent names.
Therefore, after much study and deliberation.... Perhaps we should be Very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. - - - They obviously cannot be both 'good' Muslims and good Americans. Call it what you wish it's still the truth. You had better believe it. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future.
The religious war is bigger than we know or understand. ....
Footnote: The Muslims have said they will destroy us from within.
SO FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.
THE MARINES WANT THIS TO ROLL ALL OVER THE U.S.
Wake up America, there is no Good Cancer and Bad Cancer, Only Cancer.
The Koran calls for Jihad. The Koran Calls for destruction of all Non Muslims.
There is no good Muslim and Bad Muslim. Just Muslims. According to the Koran, Jihad HAS to occur, you cannot practice the Muslim faith without believing in and supporting Jihad, this is why so called "extremists" are not denounced by Muslim leaders. The Extremists are the ones working hard to bring about the prophecy, as the Koran tells them they must do. Wake up America, whether you are Christian, Buddhist or atheist, you are on the hit list.
The Mosque is a building dedicated to fulfilling Muslim Prophecy, Muslim prophecy says that all Non-Muslims be eradicated. Read the Koran. Bill O, and other leaders need to stop white washing Muslims into Good and Bad. Muslims do not tolerate any other faith. Thats the Evil. It's a fact, and ignorant people such as Whoopi and millions of others with their liberal heads in the sand, will aide in bringing about the destruction of America.

Whoopi and Joy acted like children spoiled children. I totally agree with Bill O'Reilly and think that he deserves an apology from them. If they can't take the heat they should get off the air.
Posted by: Beverly Nelson | October 14, 2010 at 08:48 PM
This is so disgusting to see the grown women act like spoiled brats. If you can't stand the heat then stay out of the kitchen. They brought up the subject and he responded to it. Isn't that what hosts and guests do? It's rude to bring up a subject and then walk off when the guest replies.
We all know he was right and as the polls go, the majority of americans do not want a mosque to be built there. So what's all the flap about Joy and Whoopie? You think you know more than the majority of americans?
Posted by: Allie | October 14, 2010 at 08:48 PM
The View is a talk show to hear different opinions and Joy and Whoppi walk off. I wasn't surprised with Joy but Whoppi has too much experience and professionalism than that. I watched it live and I couldn't believe it. Ridiculous! I was pleased to hear Barbara acknowledge that her staff were inappropriate even though it was completely inappropriate to call Bill a Pinhead (jokingly and seriously at the same time). Namecalling is in appropriate as well. Girls get your act together!

What a foolish thing that O'Reilly said -- he isn't ignorant, but the lengths he'll go to, to get viewers, assert himself, whatever...
The 9/11 terrorists were Muslim, but they killed NOT under Islam but under Osama bin Laden, a RADICAL EXTREMIST (PSYCHOPATH?) who claims religious self-righteousness under the pretext of Islam.
Posted by: Wrong View | October 14, 2010 at 09:09 PM
Bill O'Reilly is right there is a lot of people who don't want the mosque built there. Which is exactly why it should be built there. Christianity has killed way more people than muslims and do we vilify them? NO. White Americans need to stop being so afraid of other cultures. Stop living in fear(of what you know nothing about) and you will find happiness.

Bill O'Reilly may have been the best thing to happen to THE VIEW'S ratings in some time...the girls on the view....take a reality check.

Its something a 5 year old would do... they may as well plug their ears and walk around singing "Lalalalalalalala I can't hear you Lalalalalalalalala"
Typical douche move. If you can't make a good counter argument... storm out like babies. It shows their lack of intelligence on the subject at hand.
The show is called "the view" not "our view... only". If they didn't want to hear what he had to say, they shouldn't have invited him on as a guest. For all the vile, hateful spew Joy's unleashed on Conservatives, Tea Partiers and Christians, (and most especially on Palin's daughter Bristol) she has no right to say poo about anything.
Joy is the most vile, hateful, intollerant person there is. At least O'Reilly may not agree with you, but he'll respect your right to have your opinion.

Moreover, Osama Bin Laden and his 9/11 followers are NOT religious under Islam or any other decent standard of religion -- unless you consider Terrorism a religion.

i agree with what Bill Oreilly said,
it is true. all that came from the muslims
koran, they believe in weird stuff.
they dont believe in God, they believe in
satan, thats why they do bad stuff.
first they destroy so many people on 9/11,
then they want to take away the memorial from
all the wictums that lost their loved ones their.
they want to replace it with their mosque, and their
koran that serves the devil. this is just plain truth,
just read your Bibles and believe in God,
there is only one God and one ruler, everyone has
a choice to make of whom they will serve, God and his Bible, or satan, and all other false religions, they will find themselves at a dead end.
whom will you choose today to serve, God or satan?
Jesus Christ knocks at your door, and Loves you very much.
