A defeat for the Defense of Marriage Act championed by Bill Clinton, and a loss for the enunciated views of President Obama and Vice President Biden, former candidates Hillary Clinton and John Edwards, and most mainstream Democrats.

Will gay marriage advocates ever take their case to the people, and by willing to stand by the result of a fair and democratic election? Must it always be another lawsuit in the latest court of their choice?

What is it that the lunatic fringe does not understand about majority vote ?
Allow gays & Lesbians fair treatment without redefining a foundation of
society that must remain intact through the ages.We are all born with the right
to marry, that right has always refered to the union of a woman to a man.Mariage is a french word defined as the solemn union of a man and a woman.Gay unions should be called gay unions as common sense would have
it,and recognized as legitimate unions under the law.Political correctness has
no foundation in law and we are a country of laws.

Political correctness has become a viral infection threatening our most sacred
institutions.Let us find an equitable law to recognize homosexual unions
without altering what marriage has meant to our parents and our ancestors.
Some traditions must remain unshakeable wich does not exclude acceptance
of other human realitys.

Polygamy for Muslims is a right that they have been denied for racist and bigoted reasons.

When will the courts recognize the wisdom of polygamy.

After co-sponsoring prop. 8...he challenges it's outcome in court. You can fool
some of the people some of the time....but not all of the people all of the time.
Brown unfit to serve as dog catcher.

Without prejudice to the merits of gay unions receiving equitable treatment
under the law,one cannot ignore the underground efforts of the polygamists
and pedophile lobbys to jump on a bandwagon that threatens to take us where
we dont want to go.We must err on the side of prudence.

Polygamy and pedophelia become much more acceptable if as the judge says,
morality has no place in determining civil rights.

Why does the right not understand what 'rights' are? Doesn't matter how many people would like to deny them to you, they are inalienably yours and neither popular votes nor local mores can strip them away.
Fifty years ago, 70% of people thought inter-racial marriage should not be permitted. Thankfully, we didn't listen to the majority then and thankfully we are not doing so here either.

Why is it that the people who wave the flag the hardest understand our most fundamental documents the least? Go back and read the "Federalist Papers," pal -- and hold your eyes open while you do it. The majority does not have the right to vote on the minorities' civil rights. 51% of the population cannot vote to enslave or kill the other 49% and call it democracy. That's the whole point behind the Bill of Rights -- you know, that thing James Madison said would prevent the majority from becoming as tyrannical as any other ruling class?

What? You don't know who James Madison is or what he said about the Bill of Rights or the Constitution? Maybe you should freshen up your knowledge of it before you go on a pouting fit because some judge just told you you don't get to vote on the Bill of Rights. And kindly stop calling yourself a patriot before you understand the principles this country was founded on.
