Vice President Joe ‘LeBron James Will Stay in Cleveland’ Biden is not predicting the Netherlands will win the global soccer championship Sunday because he wants that cute little country to be victorious.

The Democrat is picking the Netherlands because he really wants Spain to win, seeing as how the man who was a senator when Barack Obama was a sixth-grader knows the Spanish prime minister and all. And Joe’s been so dead wrong in his predictions and verbal gaffes since he took office, he tells Jay Leno on tonight’s ‘Tonight Show’ on NBC.

As prearranged by politicians’ aides, who do not like surprises on live-to-tape programs for their bosses, Jay and Joe had the usual late-night chatter that won’t keep anyone awake too long after the show: How the solemn-looking Secret Service guys standing around are heavily-armed and work for Biden, who says he doesn’t mind Jay’s jokes but doesn’t appreciate those of some other characters.

About Joe’s lovely wife Jill and how she really tells him what to do. And the big military success in Iraq that the Obama-Biden administration is overseeing with all U.S. troops due out next year. What a minor deal these 10 Russian sleeper spies were and how it wasn’t Joe’s idea to send back the pretty red-haired one.

And then Jay and Joe, who was in California raising more political money, brought out the soccer chatter:

BIDEN: I’m a great friend of the president of Spain. I think the Netherlands are going to win, but what the hell do I know?

LENO: The Netherlands? You got the Netherlands?

BIDEN: The Netherlands.

LENO: OK. So, Joe Biden says the Netherlands. OK, I’m going to put that down. You’ve got the Netherlands.
BIDEN: I’ve got the Netherlands. But then again, I thought LeBron was going to stay.

Don’t forget to tip your waitress, folks. And Joe will be here all through 2012, ladies and gentlemen.
