Well, no. John McCain didn’t announce he was teaming up with Snooki to run against President Obama in 2012.

But if the no-longer ‘mavericky’ Republican did decide to name the MTV ‘Jersey Shore’ reality star as his running mate in a rematch against the president, they have the beginnings of a platform: No more tanning bed taxes!

Sure to cause sheer panic in the Mitt Romney camp, Sen. McCain reached out to Nicolle ‘Snooki’ Polizzi Wednesday after hearing about her sad, sad story of how a new federal tax has forever altered her life.

In a preview for the second season of the almost Hallmark-like TV show, Snooki (who is coincidentally the same exact shade of orange as Ohio Rep. John Boehner) explained that she no longer uses tanning beds because ‘Obama put a 10% tax on tanning.’
Having just undergone a spray-on tan session she stirred up memories of 2008 by invoking the name of the president’s past nemesis.

‘McCain would never put a 10% tax on tanning, because he’s pale and he would probably want to be tan,’ she said.

Like a cobra with a Twitter account, McCain attacked.

‘u r right, I would never tax your tanning bed! Pres Obama’s tax/spend policy is quite The Situation. but I do rec wearing sunscreen!’ McCain tweeted.

Then, just like Sarah Palin of days gone by, she quickly stood by her man. ‘Haha Yes!!’ she tweeted.

Actually, Snooki doesn’t seem to be that distraught over the switch from bulbs to spray. She’s now promoting Sunlove, a spray-on tanner.

And who can argue with her message?

‘You know after the taxing, you don’t want to deal with that, and friggin’ cancer – so this is a great product to replace all the bad stuff of tanning,’ she told Allure.
