Jimmy Orr spent many years in politics, from Wyoming to Washington, D.C., to California, working for two U.S. senators, two governors and one president.

At the White House, Orr served as a spokesman for President George W. Bush and directed the e-communications strategy as the White House Internet director.

Orr left the White House to direct California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s online strategies, which received plaudits for their scope, said to surpass that of the White House, and for noteworthy integration of live interactive technology.

Since mid-2007, Orr has served as online editor for the Christian Science Monitor. He helped to direct the transition from daily publication of the Monitor print edition to its current Web-first model. Although Orr’s primary focus has been on newsroom transformation and traffic-building strategies, he also created and wrote for the political blog the Vote.
