Joe Biden update: Iraq one of Obama's 'great achievements'
Who knew?
Thank goodness, Vice President Joe Biden went on CNN to chat with Larry King Wednesday night. So many think things are not going so well for the Democrat administration, as The Ticket chronicled here.
Many Americans recall the ex-Sen. Biden's Democratic primary plans to give in to Iraq's fractious factions and carve the country into three territories. And even more probably recall Biden's boss' plan to halt the Iraq war years ago. As long as it got started anyway without the permission of the then state senator.
Plus, of course, the vehement opposition of the Nobel Prize winner to the 2007 American troop surge of you-know-who from Texas that Obama knew for certain was only going to worsen sectarian strife there. (See 2007 video here.)....
Well, of course, it didn't turn out that way, thanks in large measure to the brave service of hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops who served in that war-torn land and helped peace to break out despite the loud political acrimony back home over their role.
Now, the Obama-Biden pair that opposed the Iraq war and its tactics and predicted their failure is prepared to accept credit for its success.
It seems that Biden, who's from Delaware when he's in Delaware and Pennsylvania when in Pennsylvania, is certain now that Iraq will turn out to be one of the Obama-Biden administration's greatest achievements.
No, really.
Here's how Biden put it to Lar:
I am very optimistic about -- about Iraq. I mean, this could be one of the great achievements of this administration. You're going to see 90,000 American troops come marching home by the end of the summer. You're going to see a stable government in Iraq that is actually moving toward a representative government.
I spent -- I've been there 17 times now. I go about every two months -- three months. I know every one of the major players in all the segments of that society. It's impressed me. I've been impressed how they have been deciding to use the political process rather than guns to settle their differences.
Biden did not elaborate on what all the administration's other "great achievements" were so far.
No doubt, Iraqis too are very thankful for that 2008 U.S. election. (Full King transcript here.)

The BHO admin's greatest achievement? Wow....this man in delusional! First BHO voted for the war as a senator, then he campaigned against it with Biden as the wrong war with no progress being made. Then he said the surge was a bad idea and wouldn't work. Then he said he'd bring the troops home and end the Iraq war since we shouldn't be there in the 1st place. Now that things are looking up, they are REALLY gonna try to take credit for it? The balls of this admin....
Thank God for The Bush admin for staying true to their beliefs.

Why doesn't Biden give the Messiah credit for winning WWII while he is at it. These two clowns were against every move and plan that got us to the point of success. Biden wanted to split the country up and both were against the surge and said it would not work. Now they want credit. OMG!!! This man is completely delusional.

Are you freakin' kidding me? Iraq is Obowma's success? This is INSANITY!
I'm living in a parallel universe...this just proves it.

Biden continues to prove himself a jackass, the perfect VP for BHO.

...Joe Biden has as much credibility on the subject of Iraq as Obama on the USA when Obama traveled - in his own words - to say, 57 states, not including Alaska and Hawaii. In other words, zero, zilch, nada et cetera...
Posted by: joseatpolodotorg | February 11, 2010 at 06:50 AM
Gosh! Isn't there some way we can insinuate the customary "It's Bush's fault" in there somewhere?

::In my Larry King Voice:: " So Joe. Now that you are Governor.........wait what? Oh..sorry....they are telling me...Vice President. So... Mr Vice President.. How much for the hair plugs? GO "
Posted by: KB | February 11, 2010 at 06:51 AM
It's almost as great an Obama achievement as his choice of VP
Posted by: Sue | February 11, 2010 at 06:53 AM
Is Biden serious? This is so lame an attempt to steal success from the previous administration and the Iraqi people, since this administration has so few successes. Hopefully Larry King isn't so stupid, but...
OK, glad Biden has travelled to Iraq regularly to maintain a presence, but the success started well before Obama & he took office. They, along with Sen. Reid, kept saying this war was lost. This war was won jointly by the US and Iraq - without the Awakening the framework for turning the tide couldn't have happened, and without the US military presence of the surge to back up the Iraqi people, the framework would likely have crumbled.
Obama & Biden have no shame. Don't believe anything they say, closely watch what they do.
Thanks to our US servicemen & women for keeping us safe every day, regardless of the performance of the CIC!

Un-freakin'-believable - watching these guys in DC is like watching some perverted amateur hour on TV or something. . .how ANYONE can still believe a word that comes out of any of their mouths is beyond me. . .

are you kidding me. this bozo could not achieve a good bowel movement with exlax.

I hope someone calls him on his "revisionist history". If he enjoys going there so much, perhaps he should move. I know a lot of people who would help him pack!
Posted by: fg | February 11, 2010 at 06:55 AM
Ahahaha, Joe Biden is really stupid.
Posted by: Stankleberry | February 11, 2010 at 06:55 AM
How Dare this fool take credit for the success in Iraq. The GWB Administration, laid the blue print for the surge, and the withdrawl that is now possible. The audacity of the BO adminstration to try and take credit for something that was already in play. The reigns were handed over to them, all they had to do was sit back and take credit. I hope the American people are smart, and wise enough to read through this lie!

They really have to get Biden in front of the cameras more. With the country in double-digit unemployment, record foreclosures, and record bankruptcies, we need all the comic relief we can get.
Posted by: Duude | February 11, 2010 at 06:56 AM
The only reason I can think of for anyone to interview Joe Biden is to get their laugh for the day.
Posted by: MSSaphr | February 11, 2010 at 06:57 AM
What a bunch of Crap. I have been in Iraq for 6 years and have been in every Governmerent of Iraq. Seen everything there was to witness and fought in many of the battles. Bidden and Obama did nothing to win this war. If anything they have done everything they could to loss it. They were against the war, against the surge, against any effort to win the war and have even said we had lost it. The war was won two years before Obama took office. He has changed nothing in the war policy or strategy that had not already been determined during the Bush Administration. Obama and Biden will say anything to make them look good and hope the American people have short memories.
If anything Obama and Biden have proven the Bush Doctrine correct and all of its War on Terror policies correct since Obama and Biden continue with the same policies and strategies set out during the Bush Years.

Hey wasn't it Barry Obama himself who said at the Dumbocratic Convention, "You can't put one over on old Joe!"? My hat is off to the brilliant military teamwork of Barry Hussein Obama and Joe Biden. Our country is so much safer now with them at the helm. Oh, guys, did you hear, Iran just declared itself a "nuclear power". Go get 'em, tiger!

Squealer
A small white fat porker who serves as Napoleon's right hand pig and minister of propaganda. Squealer manipulates the language to excuse, justify, and extol all of Napoleon's actions. Squealer limits debate by complicating it and he confuses and disorients, making claims that the pigs need the extra luxury they are taking in order to function properly, for example. However, when questions persist, he usually uses the threat of the return of Mr Jones, the former owner of the farm, to justify the pigs' privileges. Squealer uses statistics to convince the animals that life is getting better and better. Most of the animals have only dim memories of life before the revolution; therefore, they are convinced. In the end, he is the first pig to walk on his hind legs.

Standard playbook for this Administration. If it's good, they did it. If it's bad, Bush did it. And if they're not sure whether it is good or bad, then keep spinning it and talk out both sides of their arse until public opinion comes down on one side or the other, then select from the above choices.
Posted by: Shing | February 11, 2010 at 06:59 AM
Is this a real story or a skit from Saturday Night Live?
I guess Joe Biden and Obama (who opposed the surge and everything else about Iraq) also invented the Internet. Oh no, that was Al Gore. Maybe it was Global Warming? Nope, that was Al Gore in a massive snowstorm who did that too. So I guess then logic tells us that Al Gore saved Iraq?
As long as it's someone else other than the guys who actually did it. George Bush, Dick Cheney and General Petraeus. And hey Joe, that's not General Betray-Us.
Can't wait for this administration to announce that they saved the world from destruction when the planet doesn't implode and disappear from the cosmos later today.
Will the miracles of the left's Messiah ever cease to amaze us?

Wow... just wow! The sheer douchebaggery of this administration seems to know no limits. Unbelievable!

Thank you, Lord...Thank you for creating this really stupid *ss politician...because without him, there would not be any standard that we could measure intelligence against...I still can't believe that my fellow citizens actually voted these two dolts into positions of power...Friggin' DUMB and DUMBER...are you having buyer's remorse yet?? Come on, be really honest with yourselves.
Posted by: Pound Sand | February 11, 2010 at 07:05 AM
Let's see........ Blame Bush for every bad thing and take credit for every thing good thing he did (like the troop surge in Iraq). Biden and Obama are disgusting.....
Posted by: Dennis | February 11, 2010 at 07:06 AM
A success is a success. The Adinistration seeks to extract the US from Iraq, while leaving that country no worse off.
There is no use pretending that Iraq is a flourishing new democracy. It is (and always will be) basically another Lebanon, a patchwork of diverse ethnicities muddling along in unstable equilibrium.
If Obama and Biden gets the US out of there without the country descending into chaos, then they will merit the gratitiude of both Americans and Iraqis.

Gotta LOVE Sloppy Joe. He's the gift that keeps on giving. We need to keep a mic in front of his face at all times. Now that would be a reality show worth watching!

Though I don't at all like politics and am already sick and tired of all these political issues (constantly stubmble over only political reviews even at rapidshare se ), but your explanations are easy to understand and I even read through your articles from time to time to get the slightest inkling of what is going on. Besides, with each article I learn something new about our president.

THIS IS SUCH A JOKE! Ob said he would withdraw troops in Iraq the day after his Inauguration! HE IS NOW wanting to take CREDIT???? FOR Pres Bush policies in Iraq!!!! haa
HEY BIDEN Iraq has been stable since before Bush left office. OB did nada to accomplish that IN FACT ...he voted against the surge he voted against funding the war ....WE"RE not all that stupid out here...>>>BIDEN
Posted by: Ms Fran | February 11, 2010 at 07:09 AM
Is this guy serious?? I wonder if "the war is lost" Harry Reid feels the same.. Obama-Biden are so nieve and arrogant they can't even give credit to W, when he deserves it.. It was W who announced the surge, even though everybody in America was against it, including Pres. Obama, I really hope the American people are smart enough to know W deserves ALL the credit for Iraq, except for the troops of course..
Posted by: SCOTT-ATL | February 11, 2010 at 07:09 AM
This pair of clowns (Biden-Obama) take the cake. What a pair of liars - true politicians to the core. And yet there are still a large number of people in this country who just don't see these two for what they really are. Obama and Biden need to be thrown out of office. They are a disgrace to our country at every level.
Posted by: CBO | February 11, 2010 at 07:10 AM
so wouldn't it be BUSH'S achievement? He has done nothing GOOD for this country.
Q: How many more radical ISLAM countries are you going to let get a NUKE?
Q: How many got on under bush?
FUBO
Posted by: chris | February 11, 2010 at 07:10 AM
Incredibly ironic, they have been blaming Bush for everything else they have done, and when it really is a result of Pres. Bush, they take the credit.
Posted by: Diana | February 11, 2010 at 07:11 AM
What a joke!!! Even the LAT has figured out this admin is a joke. MSM is finally figuring out why it is dead - Larry King didn't even question this idoit about this statement?
Posted by: JFS | February 11, 2010 at 07:12 AM
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Don't you just love ole Joe? He's SO-oooo funny. I think the his attendants in white coats should let him out of his straight jacket every single day so he can raise our spirits with his humorous ramblings.
Know what would be even more amusing? Put a camera and mic on Obama during Biden's appearances. I don't care who you are, that's funny.

Did anyone hear L.King express the slightest skepticism about Biden's claims on Irak ?
But what a different attitude from king when he asked the verbose Biden to
comment on Sarah Palin. King is so kind and objective whenever he refers to
Alaska's former governor.Biden's interview went far to demonstrate that CNN
and King never practice double standards and what great looking suspenders

Biden and Obummer suck and they are all liars. Vote them out now!!!!
Posted by: Mr bill | February 11, 2010 at 07:15 AM
So what else is new? The Obama administration blames Bush for its own continued failures and tries to take credit for Bush's triumphs. What else can you expect with a community organizing, "empty suited" President and a stupid babbling Vice President in Office? This administration will continue to be a tragic disaster for America, thanks to the wonderful Kool-Aid drinking “American Idol” mentality that voted them into Office!
Posted by: Gil Rodriguez | February 11, 2010 at 07:15 AM
Being from Delaware, I'm never supprised at stupid comments from Joe. He wanted to divide Iraq into three sections because Delaware only has three counties,or He can only count that high we're not quite sure back here.
Posted by: john k. | February 11, 2010 at 07:15 AM
So if something bad happens, blame it on Bush. If something good happens it was all Obama. Awesome strategy!

WOW !!! Biden states the conditions in Iraq are his and Obama's (administration) GR8ist achievement???
If he's taking credit for that ... then shouldn't the success in the Pacific Theatre against the Japanese also be included as one of this administration's "monumental" achievements too ?
Simply UNREAL !

There they go again, re-writing history. Does he really think the American people will forget so soon about The Surge and Obama's comment? I predict come November, all of them will have an "Oh, no!" moment.
