The fickle fans of the weekly Sunday talk shows are mostly back to their old favorite, ‘Meet the Press.’

After a surprising win for ABC’s ‘This Week’ a few weeks ago, the NBC program is flying high yet again in the ratings race.

On Sunday, ‘Meet the Press’ with David Gregory had 3.51 million viewers.

The No. 2 and 3 spots were insanely close. ‘This Week’ took the silver by a nose with 2.77 million viewers, and CBS’ ‘Face the Nation’ got bronze with 2.76 million. A photo finish!

Compare that with the week before when the standings were the same, but ‘This Week’ was staying more competitive with Gregory’s show.

On Dec. 6, just 100,000 separated the two. Meanwhile, Bob Schieffer of ‘Face the Nation’ seems to be getting cozy in his third-place spot.

‘Fox News Sunday’ is still on its steady incline, picking up 10,000 over those last two weeks. Of course, as we noted last month, the Fox show does well on repeat airings. Because who really wants to wake up early on a Sunday if you don’t have to?
