Sarah Palin's roguish book tour: The details seep out
It starts in Michigan.
Our good buddy Josh Painter over at the Texas for Salin Palin blog, a must-bookmark for SP fans, has assembled the schedule for the ex-gov's upcoming book sales/autographing tour and we have some of it below.
You'll note that the tour starts in Michigan. Get it? Oh, c'mon, sure you do!
Longtime Ticket readers will recall it was the stumbling McCain campaign's decision to, in effect, forfeit Michigan to the Obama Democrats a year ago and stop campaigning there.
Which caused McCain's Republican pitbull partner to grumble about giving up anywhere so easily.
Which caused those brave McCain staffers to anonymously leak their own grumblings that Palin was "going rogue."
Which provided the rebounding political celebrity with her best-selling book title -- "Going Rogue: An American Life" -- which so far has 1.5 million copies in print.
And that's before the Oprah show on Nov. 16. There'll be a five-part interview with....
...Barbara Walters on ABC. No doubt a bunch of Fox folks. Probably won't have any time to squeeze in a chat with that late-night CBS guy who made the sex joke about Palin's underage daughter.
Palin's got 13 stops booked before Thanksgiving, a break, and then back on the road to drive those crucial holiday sales.
Palin will focus on numerous smaller cities (yes, Iowa's Sioux City is in there), many of them past successful campaign stops. She'll see the troops at one Ft. Bragg event in North Carolina. And she'll even pack them into a Pennsylvania Sam's Club.
Of course, Minneapolis' massive Mall of America is on the schedule. That's near the Republican National Convention site where, despite a faltering teleprompter, Palin gave a flawless debut....
...national political speech that electrified that audience and attracted some 37 million viewers at home. For old time's sake, we dug that video out of The Ticket's archives and re-publish it just above here.
But the Republican politician and possible 2012 presidential candidate mapped her travels to skip many traditional book tour stops -- Seattle, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Los Angeles -- because they have a lot of you-know-who's there.

Oh please. She should just stick to skinning moose and caring for her oddly dysfunctional and conspicuous "special needs' family. I cringe at the thought of her on TV again.

Bill O'Rielly said last week that he has a 3 part interview with Palin coming up...

Palin, Cheney, & all the rest of the republicans.. It's all about the money and nothing else.

Going rogue?
More like going full retard, amirite?

Good god, why can't she just go away.........
Posted by: Steveo | November 10, 2009 at 06:44 AM
Your IQ drops 10 points every time you see her picture. I wish the tea-bag queen would just go away, all she does is lower the collective intellegence of this country and continue the poisoning of our political process.

The great thing about this is that it will truly be the last we hear of her except for the occasional snicker while reading a footnote about her in a poli sci textbook.
It's what makes this palatable - her 15 minutes are nearly over.

I think a lot of people who have gotten their view of Governor Palin from the Dead Tree Rags, Fringe Media, DL and SNL, are going to be in for a shock.
They are going to be exposed to a very smart and articulate lady with whom they have much more in common with than they knew.

You all wishing she would just go away? Funny, because that's the same way many feel about the homosexual community and the 'marriage' vote. But I guess that comminity wouldn't be considering taking their own advice, wouldn't they? Here's a thought. You go away first and I will bet she will go away thereafter.

Isn't it great that we live in a country where a heretofore no-name, underperforming governor can rise to the level of best selling (allegedly) author and political "star" (questionable) simply based on looks, a bad choice made by her running mate based on those looks and a segment of the electorate who believes in the "cult of personality" in lieu of actual intelligence and policy expertise? Having already proven her roguish nature by prematurely quitting the office that gave her the ability to cluelessly ascend to become the GOP's equivalent of a poison pill for any candidate endorsements, how long will it take before the right wakes up and causes Sarah to exclaim "I can see the end of my 15 seconds from my house"?

I don't get it, why would she name her book "Going Rouge"? Didn't someone along the way realize that being a Rouge is NOT a good thing??

I always thoroughly enjoy when I see leftist sheep deride Palin on her “qualifications” …
Yet they somehow believed Teleprompter Jesus was the one….
what a bunch of B.S. I challenge you leftist trolls to list his quals… go ahead.
We all need a good laugh.

I love it. I want a 24 hour Sarah Palin television network so we can all turn into a big old American Mush-brain!

Finally, Mr. Malcolm returns to the "Boost Sarah" beat. It's been a while, and I've been wondering what the delay was.

Flawless debut! Electrifying! She overcame a faltering telepromter! Going Rogue, national bestseller! At long last, the exciting details of Sarah Palin's whirlwind tour of the Real America have been released!
Is this the L.A. Times or the National Review?

Wake up people! Read some history books and find out what why the Constitution is there to protect the people from a government that is too powerful. We need Sarah more than ever. This country is on a path to hell led by a dangerous muslim that hates this country. If you people don't wake up and get it soon, our freedoms will be long gone.
Listen to Sarah and appreciate our great country.

Rougue, not a flattering word kinda like reckless. Look it up, seems appropriate though.

Sarah appeals to a special population of Americans that don't really know how to handle a gun but belong to the NRA anyway, and think they know how to improve government but can't tell you what the VP's job is.
Sarah and the Team Sarah ding-dongs can help this country by staying out of politics. Nordstrom is open, they should whip out their plastic and go be all they can be.

I picked up my coupon for the book and my ticket to get it signed by the Cuda in Cincinnati on the 20th.
She'll be a dynamite leader of this country.
Radiant and courageous, how could it be any other way?
Palin/Rubio 2012!

You can cut the fear and flop sweat here with a knife! LOL
If she was truly "washed-up", a "quitter", "15 minutes almost over" and etc. you would just ignore her. Since the attacks on Governor Palin have been non-stop since last year, that tells me all I need to know...
Posted by: Alan Srout | November 10, 2009 at 05:54 PM
Enough of Palin. She is a zero. Stupid !
Posted by: peter | November 10, 2009 at 05:57 PM
Go Sarah!
2012
Posted by: Eric | November 10, 2009 at 06:21 PM
The Quitter is Dubya in drag, no more, no less, and she would have to answer to the same puppetmasters -- Rove, Cheney, et al. This country could not survive going down that road again. America is barely breathing as it is, thanks to eight years of fraud, cronyism, decay and abuse by the PNAC Boys, enablers like Bush and Palin, and the proto-fascist muscle provided by ignorant "good Christian values" folks who can't find the handle on reality.

How did this get in the LA Times?
No sneering gutter smears?
No paranoid leftist lies?
You will probably be fired. You are supposed to be a slobbering socialist shill for Obama.
