Palin to Biden: 'Drill, baby, drill' not that complicated

(UPDATE: 1:28 p.m. An additional quote from the program and a link to the full transcript has been added below.)

Rush Limbaugh has said of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's new book, "Going Rogue," that it is "truly one of the most substantive policy books I've read."

So the conservative icon was determined not to follow the media herd. In a half-hour interview with the Republican Party's hottest commodity, Limbaugh did not ask Palin about her quarrels with John McCain's presidential campaign, her interview with CBS' Katie Couric, her clothes, her husband or her ambitions.

Instead, he offered her a platform for policy, a chance to burnish her credentials, to add gravitas to the resume.

On the green revolution: "A lot of snake-oil science. ... Somebody's making an awful lot of money" from the fear of global warming.

On healthcare: "There are lots of common-sense solutions before we get the federal government involved."

And, finally, on the "drill, baby, drill" chant that defined her appearance before the Republican National Convention last summer: "What is complicated about tapping into safe supplies" of oil?

Responding to Vice President Biden's recent comment that addressing environmental issues is more complicated then just drilling, Palin said, "It's not that complicated, it's political."

(UPDATE: The full Limbaugh-Palin transcript is now available here. He also asked Palin about the loss of her endorsed Conservative Party candidate, Doug Hoffman, in New York's 23d District:

Well, I think what you saw there is -- and of course it's not just the Republican machine, it's the Democrat machine, too.  You know, if you're not the anointed one within the machine, sometimes you have a much tougher row to hoe and that's what Hoffman faced. He was the underdog.

I think great timing for him, though, to stand strong on his conservative credentials and essentially come out of nowhere and prove that an American without that resume, without that machine backing can truly make a difference in an election like this.

RUSH:  Well, now, you used the term, "If you're not the anointed one by the party machine, you're the underdog and you have a tough row to hoe."  Based on things that I read, the Republican establishment would not anoint you to be a nominee of their party should you choose to go that way.

Palin, who upset the entrenched GOP establishment in Alaska to win the gubernatorial primary, chuckled.

Sarah Palin is great! Well… great for the democrats and the future of the country that is. How you ask? Well ever since the campaign something has been stirred up. Sarah Palin’s claims of how Obama is “palling around with terrorists” and not stopping or refuting the “kill him” or “he’s a nazi secret Muslim” claims from her supporters has ginned up all the redneck morons. Her fear and scare tactics have not only failed miserably but have backfired on the GOP something fierce.

Now these tea bagger idoiots are starting to turn on the moderate GOP and pushing them out of the party and or handing elections to the Dems. The scare mongering has created a monster full of morons and now that monster is turning on the GOP. As long as Sara Palin is in the news republicans will never get back in power… thank god for Sara Palin and her moronic views.

It is my greatest desire to see the Republican Party nominate Sarah Palin as their presidential candidate. She is after all the best that they have to offer.

"truly one of the most substantive policy books I've read". Either Limbaugh can't read or his comic books don't go deeply into policy. If he weren't serious this comment would be drop dead funny. It appears that both Palin and Limbaugh embrace the Republican party mantra; "war is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength".

Sarah Palin is truely a great woman. She's got her head on straight and is not falling into the global warming and environmental garbage that is being spewed around. Don't get me wrong, it's great to keep carbon monoxide emissions out of the air, but global warming? Life is a child, not a choice. Finally a politician that sees the big picture and doesn't candy coat reality. If this woman runs for president in 2012 she has got my vote for sure and I sincerely hope she does.

As you mention, Sarah Palin took on the entrenched Republican establishment in Alaska and beat them. What you didn't point out is that the Alaska GOP establishment was hopelessly corrupt, as witnessed by the shenanigans of Ted Stevens and Don Young among others.

Wouldn't it have been nice if our current President had decided to take on the hopelessly corrupt Democrat establishment in Chicago and Illinois, rather than just use it to further his own career?

Sarah Palin will not be left to enjoy her life for a while because she has without a doubt rocked this world.

Rachel Maddow, the smirking lesbian? Who watches her but other gays. She's annoying I don't care who she sleeps with.

Those who value freedom believe Sarah Palin is right on the issues.

"Now these tea bagger idoiots...."

Uhhh, yeah. You might want to be more careful about throwing the term "moron" around.

I dunno? I read the palin kool aid drinkin crowd here and I just have to ask? where have you been as of late, the lady resigned in the face of bing over ridden by the legislature on accepting stimulus money, most americans do not view here as being presidential at all? just drill?
uh well? there really are serious enviraonmental considerations to be weighed that are not politcal in nature at all? consder the california coast line where some have long fought for off shore drilling since the santa barbara oil pollution? does mz palin and her rah rah crowd really believe the people who live there consider restricting any new wells a polictical question at all? if so perhaps palins lemmings need to get to the fragile coast line and meet and greet the local people and get an up close and personal view from them instead?
now, if any one is still with me here? when the lady was 'runnin' things in alyeska? I suppose she could have done a little drillin herself aye? but then of course things werent too successful there then huh?
But global warming, now here is where can agree to disagree and part compnay?
Mz Palin, the earth is not flat after all, we can prove that to you, why with enough money we can get you on a space shot and show you? while you are up there we can beam you up the then and now ice maps of the world and even maybe change your mind on evolution live the earth is evolving and in that vein?
The snow caps are melting...but then I am sure it would do no good to present you with the celestial over view in the end because there is clearly something wrong with your reasoning powers or you are just plain dishonest?

Joe and Barrack can complicate everything!!!!
Global warming= no oil or energy!
Global warming= no jobs, the economy suffers!!!
