Oprah's Sarah Palin interview incites 'perky' reactions
Sarah Palin's rogue book tour made a pre-taped stop in Chicago today for the former Alaska governor's much-hyped appearance on "Oprah."
Palin dropped some doggone fascinating tidbits during the interview. She said she has no plans to run for president in 2012. Well, actually she said it's "not on my radar," which is Politician for "It might be over the horizon."
That might ease the worries of conspiracy theorists convinced that the adorable political celebrity could ring in the 2012 apocalypse. On second thought, no, it won't convince the "anti-" crowd of anything.
Oprah Winfrey, who supported her hometown senator, Barack Obama, in the election, questioned Palin about her unintentionally hilarious interviews with Katie Couric. Palin refused to refer to Couric by name, instead calling her "the perky one." Gosh!
Don't worry, plenty more to come after the book's official release tomorrow. There's a five-part Barbara Walters chat on ABC and a long radio conversation with Rush Limbaugh on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m. Eastern.
As entertaining as the Oprah chat was, we also like to watch the comments from fans and haters. Did Oprah go too easy on Palin? Some said, You betcha. But others admitted that Palin is starting to grow on them.
We grabbed some of the best we found on Twitter. Here they are (unedited):

Oprah was too gentle on Sarah Palin on their interview today. It seems like a glorified Palin book infomercial.

I think Oprah was too easy on Palin but Oprah's guy won. She can afford to be gracious, and let that manipulative little Alaska woman tap dance around the issues.

I think the great dislike and hatred of Sarah Palin was bred by fear. I never saw anything that made her the demon some folk made her out to be. Just people who exaggerate too much.

..a woman with children can not be elected to be president...you cannot have it all. Was Oprah out of her mind? or was she just a blind fanatic of Obama? of course if is not about male=female, What it is it about PRECIOUS?

Given the chance, and hope she runs in 2012 election,Sarah Palin would make a great president. Then we will see the changes we need.

Did Oprah actually say a woman couldnt do an important job (like being Oprah) because she doesnt have a "wife"!?!? R U KIDDING ME!!!! I think she has lost her mind. I think she forgot where she came from, what shes been through as a woman and maybe a woman who couldnt have kids because (Im paraphrasing)- women cant have it have all at the same time. But men can???? WOW! Maybe what she needs is a wife and then she could finally have kids. And the way she treated her fellow sister....I'm ashamed and will no longer defend her. She is a totally different person now. Sarah outshined Oprah 100 fold. I have a new respect for her. I know, I cant believe it either! Clinton/Palin 2012!

Didn't anyone else notice that Oprah looked completely PAINED to be having that interview?? I've never seen her so uncomfortable that she couldn't fake her dislike.

Hi y'all. Ain't old Sarah a hoot? Went on Oprah's show to sell her book and damned if she didn't do it. So many Americans respect her ability to turn sh** into gold. The American way! We are the world's greatest hucksters. No other country in the world would be able to sell the picture of a mouse and make billions doing it. Just love that Mickey Mouse. Buy her book. It's in the discount bin at Walmart already. Wait a week and you'll get a free pair John Wayne DVDs to go with it.

Oprah was disappointing in her wishy washy interview approach. The RNC campaign committee has stated SP was never billed for any fees whatsoever. And her dresser for the campaign has also stated SP made false statements regarding her as well. Others have said SP played fast & loose with so-called facts which can easily be proved. Why didn't Oprah even address any of it?
