Several of the nation's largest cities choose new mayors today

November 3, 2009 |  2:48 pm

Bloom Ok, so it's not quite as exciting as last year.

But there are several big elections unfolding across the country today, including the New Jersey and Virginia governors' races, which Johanna Neuman wrote about here this morning.

And voters in some of the nation's largest cities will be choosing new mayors.

The most closely-watched mayoral races are in New York, where voters will decide whether to deliver incumbent Mayor Michael Bloomberg an unprecedented third term, and in Pittsburgh, Pa., where 29-year-old mayor Luke Ravenstahl is up for reelection.

For more on those races, and on the mayoral contests in Atlanta and Houston, take a look at our political coverage here. And check back for updates as soon as the election results come in.
