Opinion: Happy Birthday Mr. President from the nation’s astrologers

Unlike those annoying ‘birthers,’ people like talk radio’s Glenn Beck and CNN’s Lou Dobbs who keep insinuating that Barack Obama is not an American, the nation’s astrologers have no doubt that the president was born in Honolulu on Aug. 4, 1961. Actually they even know the time -- 7:24 p.m.
And they think they have his character nailed too.
Obama is a Leo, and doesn’t that just say it all? As tarot.com notes, ‘The Lion is considered the king of the jungle, and likewise you Leos have an air of royalty about you. Some Leos even have hair resembling the thick mane of the Lion. But Lions are more than roar, for they are truly magnificent beasts. The Lioness proudly cares for the young, hunts and takes care of survival with relentless intent and ferocity when needed. And proud are you Leo! Perhaps that’s why Leo often chooses work that puts you in the center of stage or in the spotlight of appreciation.’
But not just that. As circlesoflight.com points out, Obama not only has his Sun in Leo but, more telling, his Sun is ‘strongly dignified (with) no dispositor detracting from it.’ No wonder he keeps telling Congress to get back to work.
As for the president’s horoscope, apparently today is not a great day for Oval Office briefings. ‘Avoid heavy discussions and try not to focus on dry, practical matters,’ writes astrology.com. ‘Simply sharing a pleasant time with someone you love is more in tune with your feelings today.’
No word yet on how First Lady Michelle Obama plans to mark the president’s 48th birthday this evening.
But this afternoon, Obama has invited the entire caucus of Senate Democrats, all 60 of them, to the White House for lunch.
Asked why, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs quipped, ‘It’s the president’s birthday, and Chuck E. Cheese was booked.’
