Opinion: Sotomayor hearings: Thumbs up for the blogosphere

Ted Kaufman, Democrat of Delaware, was the first senator to refer to the extensive nonofficial vetting process of a Supreme Court nominee and included the “blogosphere” in his list of arenas where that discussion takes place.

“This public vetting process, while not always accurate or temperate,” said Kaufman, “is extremely valuable.”
