One of the funnest things about writing The Ticket is developing a rapport with many readers, whether they’ve bookmarked latimes.com/ticket or come to us from our mounting Twitter crowd or RSS feeds or via Facebook or any of the other fine sites that we link to and from.

And part of that satisfaction comes from the growing number of reader suggestions we’re getting. Maybe you saw Lydia’s superb observation here last Sunday.

Loyal Ticket reader Lee sent us these contrasting videos last night, showing two different American commanders-in-chief addressing U.S. troops -- first, President Barack Obama last Friday down at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina and President George W. Bush 18 months ago in Iraq’s Anbar province. An even more recent comparison of the two is available over here.
