Alan Keyes stokes Obama birth certificate controversy
The controversy over the validity of Barack Obama's birth certificate is back on a burner with firebrand conservative Alan Keyes making serious new charges.
In a video (see below) released Friday, Keyes, who lost to Obama in the 2004 U.S. Senate race in Illinois that launched the new president's national political career, calls Obama a communist and usurper and says he refuses to acknowledge the validity of Obama's inauguration over lingering questions in the minds of many conspiracists about the 44th president's birthplace.
The U.S. Constitution requires any president be born an American citizen.
In June, the Obama campaign released to The Ticket a copy of the then-senator's Hawaiian birth certificate (see the jump below and also here). But stubbornly persistent critics demand to see the original, which the state has refused to provide, citing personal privacy reasons.
And the critics, including Keyes explaining here, cite Obama relatives in Kenya as saying he was actually born there in his father's native land when his American mother was too young to pass on her U.S. citizenship.
In December, as The Ticket reported here, the Supreme Court dismissed without comment a New Jersey lawsuit seeking to bar Obama's inauguration due to questions over his actual citizenship. The Obama camp has proceeded normally as if there was no controversy.
Obviously, the inauguration proceeded, although on the advice of White House counsel as a precaution against a verbal muff during the noontime Jan. 20 public ceremony, Obama did take the presidential oath again that night in private with Chief Justice John Roberts. His White House lawyer feared igniting another simmering legal controversy if there was any doubt about the oath's validity, although the Constitution stipulates the new president takes office at noon no matter what.
However, the dispute over his birthplace continues. Listen here to Keyes' rather strong language.
This simmering dispute, occurring online and in e-mails coursing daily across the Internet, seems unlikely to evaporate any time soon.

Ummm, his mother is American. No one disputes that. I think that makes him an American even if he was born on Mars. You can argue about the right interpretation of natural-born citizen all you want, but he's definitely an American citizen no matter where he was born

In a loophole that exhisted when Obama was born, foreign citizens were allowed into Hawaii, and still able to qualify later to receive a Certificate of Live Birth as long as they met certain qualifications, which you should look up for yourself (which is not an actual birth certificate - long form). Libs, like the ones that have posted hear are absolute intellectual morons because they are never willing to look at all of the facts.

A certificate of live birth is not now or has ever been a birth-certificate, it shows a vague area of time in which you where born to an american citizen, when you arrived back in this country in order to recieve our rights as an AMERICAN. Obama is a fraud and a liar, and not an AMERICAN.

I want Obama's actual paper long form birth document, his private records, and all related evidence reviewed by a panel of judges in a court of law. Not a review by factcheck.org or CNN / MSNBC. I could care less what the media finds valid about Obama, it's all just their opinion. I want the facts reviewed in a court, and until that happens Obama and his supporters are concealing the truth, plain & simple.

Why are his college transcripts missing? or any papers he wrote in college not on the internet? Did anyone know that he was on a board for the Annenberg's back in Chicago? What do we really know about this man? Dr Keyes is right, he spent more in the last 6 months then was spent on the war on terror and he's printing money like it's nothing. Everyone should be questioning what exactly is IN this Obamacare package he's rushing through to get signed. Why are the people running our Government exempt from it? If it is as good as they say, they should have the same healthcare as he is giving us. Why do some of you not question him? You just go blindingly faithful that he will take care of you. Health care is NOT in our Constitution.

Could someone explain one thing about this birth certificate. If you look closely towards the bottom, if this is an original birth certificate why does it have a date of Jun 6, 2007? It should have a date back in the 1960's.

Dr. Keyes is not as smooth as Obama, but he is more articulate and certainly smarter. I formerly believed that he was just a brooding, angry black man, at least until I learned more of what he knew-- before almost all of us. It seems he has good reason to be angry and even fearful. What he says is true. I would recommend that most of you commenters take his message to heart, but that will be too difficult to do, if you do not first have the information base with which to interpret his words. I would suggest that you begin with materials other than MSM, blog adoration pieces and Obama's self-serving "biographies" and go directly to Don Fredrick's new book "The Obama Timeline" www.colony14.net . Earlier notes are available on http://colony14.net/id41.html . Get the ebook for about $6. Also try a leading Obama opposition site www.wnd.com . I know it's hard for partisans of any stripe, but try to read these with an open mind. You may initially be shocked and reject the message, but at least try. You owe it to yourself and country to be getting information from sources other just than the LA Times and its ilk. There's more to the story tan you might realize.

Until Obama or the State of Hawaii releases his ACTUAL birth certificate - the original document - then Obama's legitimacy should, and will, remain in question. Why don't they just release the original document? . . . Unless there isn't one to release . . . The COLB, printed in 2007, is not a birth certificate and has no weight. Obama remains "undocumented" for meeting the qualifications to be President.

WND has reported that among the documentation not yet available for Obama includes his kindergarten records, his Punahou school records, his Occidental College records, his Columbia University records, his Columbia thesis, his Harvard Law School records, his Harvard Law Review articles, his scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, his passport, his medical records, his files from his years as an Illinois state senator, his Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records, and his adoption records.

The questions won’t go away until obama releases his hidden records. All he has to do is make the following official public statement,
"I Barack Obama authorize the State of Hawaii to release and make public all of my records on file."
That's it. Issue over. But he won't because he's a fraud!! Obama knows that millions of citizens want to see it yet he continues to hide it. What and why is he hiding?

The image provided by the LA Times here is not a birth certificate. It is a certificate of live birth. The two are different documents. Most government agencies want a full birth certificate, not a certificate of live birth for identification. Why can't we have a real birth certificate?

This document is fake as far as I can see. There is no embossed official seal nor a embossed seal as you would get from a notary. No one signed this "Document" and there are no footprints on the front as a means of identification Very bogus!! Just a poor peice of paper.

While I know many people who believe as we do, none of the Senators or representative to whom we have called and written seem to agree. To date, the ONLY forms of evidence presented has been a fraudulent COLB that Dr. Onaka of the Hawaii dept. of health has publicly stated that his office or anyone in his office did not release the forged COLB to obama's/soetoro's handlers. The news clippings of his birth,(not an official document), have been proved to be also fraudulent. The mother and father NEVER lived there, and had seperate addresses during their time in Hawaii. Why let facts get in the way. Congress has enacted a "COUP" for power. No Vetting for the usurper. Aside from the "evidence" provided and its fraudulent nature, what is the defining proof of citizenship? Is it his british citizenship confered upon birth by his father? No documentation that he ever renounced it. His mother was too young to confer citizenship upon birth wherever he was born. I realize the courts ask for "BEST EVIDENCE AVAILABLE", so what is it? This is a certificate of live birth, but an official Birth Certificate must have the offical seal of the State of Hawii and the signiture of the registar. Very strange that this is the only proof.

Interesting how all the Obama supporters refer to those who question Obama's birth status as "nut-jobs" or "whack-jobs." The constitution requires that the President of the United States be born in the United States. Why is anyone a nut-job or whack-job for wanting confirmation of that? Why is it anyone that questions any of Obama's policys or the issues are now deemed to be racist by the socialist left? I'm not a Republican or a Democrat - but in comparing the two parties, I believe the Democrats are more likely to circumvent the rules or the law. Obama's defensive methods surrounding this issue cast a dark shadow on his legitamacy!

I am a 58 year old Black man who never had thoughts of growing up and becoming president. Mr. Obama has changed that forever for Black children. But that is all he has accomplished so far.
we are still at war, our economy is still in the dirt and health care is still only a dream for many americans. So why is he the greatest presidnt since FDR? Why did he receive the Nobel Peace Prize?
I don't believe he is a communist, but he has no idea what it means to be a Christian.
Alan Keyes is probably going overboard with his rhetoric, but then that's what makes this country so great. Even if your opinions are unpopular, or even stupid, you have the right to express them.

When citizens of the United States sign up for social security, get passports, etc., they have to provide a certified copy of their birth certificate. If they don't have a certified copy, they have to pay $20 for one. The number shown on the certificate is proof of citizenship of the United States. Why is it that our own President refuses to prove that he is a citizen, it would be so simple. If he lies about that, what else is he fabricating?

The fact is there is hardly a lefty who would care even if it were proven Obama had been born elsewhere. There is little they will not allow, as long as they have their agenda left intact--dismantling America one piece at a time. The real question for a democrat is this: if it were proven that Obama had been born in Kenya, what would you really do? Would you sacrifice your political orgy for the sake of Constitutional rightness? Or would you protect your own and sacrifice the country's right to Constitutional probity just because you believe your agenda is better for us than we think it is? Well I see where Obama's ratings have slipped to an all time low. Only one other president has out done him in the low column. My prediction is he will go down in history as the worst president ever.
Why will no senator, congressman or judge touch the citizenship deal. They know if he gets kicked out of office the left will drag out the gas cans as they always do. But they also know this. They know that this time around there will be a wad of folks carrying big old guns who do not want their buildings burned.
It is called scared. But no matter how scared anyone becomes it is still in their best interest to protect and up hold our constitution. If we don't then we don't know scared.
The only way you obtain wisdom is if the good lord let's you live long enough to gain that wisdom. Nope you can not go get it at the local library or off the Internet it only comes with age. I can tell by these post the age of the person doing the posting.
Young folks it might just be in your best interest to listen to the older folks. Just might save you some heartaches down the road.
But will you listen? Probably not. You will be just like I was in my younger days. I knew it all. I had an answer for everything.
My dad once told me that the day I finally realized that I did not know everything would be day that I started to obtain walking around sense. He was dead on the money. One thing for sure. I wish I had paid attention to more of what he tried to tell me. I could have avoided a huge number of bumps in the road.
Young people I am telling you that Obama is bad news. Will you pay attention? Probably not. But there will come a day when you will wish that you had.

Every time I look at these post all I see is Birth Certificate, Birth Certificate.
Can I just ask one question. WHY IS EVERY ONE WANTING TO SEE A BIRTH CERTIFICATE?
You do not need to see a Birth Certificate. Obama's father was a British subject. Every one knows that. That is not hear say that is a pure fact. Obama even admits it. Since Obama's father was a British Subject then that made Obama a British Subject. So Obama is a done deal on his fathers side.
Now to his mother. Look up the law. You have to be in the U.S. five years after your sixteenth birthday to make the little baby legit. His mother had him when she was barley eighteen. She would have to have been 21 when he was born. You know 16 + 5 = 21. So that cooks his goose on his mothers side and to be not legit he only has to be cooked on one side. Thomas Jefferson said both parents had to be U.S citizens.
Obama could have been born on top of a fence post in Texas and he still would not be legit according to our laws and constitution.
People you need to get off the Birth Certificate. We already have the evidence all we need to do is find a senator, congressman or judge who will can him.
Don't let the senators, congressmen or judges fool you. They know he is not legit. That is why every one of them needs to be voted out of office come next election.

Bill Wilks has hit the nail on the head. There’s this little matter called the Constitution, which states that the POTUS has to be a natural-born citizen.
The term “natural-born citizen” is fully defined by Emmerich deVattel in his book “Law of Nations” as “The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country of parents who are citizens”... “I say that in order to be of the country, it is necessary that a person be born of a father who is a citizen; for, if he is born there of a foreigner, it will be only the place of his birth, and not his country.”
This is clearly noted in Book 1, Chap. XIX, Par. 212, of the “Law of Nations”. This was published in 1758, or some three decades before the Constitution was ratified.
And the Law of Nations was very much in the minds of the framers of the Constitution. Article I, Section 8, gives Congress the power to define and punish offenses against the Law of Nations.
How could Congress punish these offenses if they had never read the Law of Nations? How many in Congress today are aware that the Constitution gives them that power...and responsibility?

The issue isn't over the "Certificate of Live Birth." That's the short form, which basically states that a child was born alive and the presumed name of the child. The long form is the "normal" birth certificate... and the official one. It contains WAY more information on it than the short form. THIS is the form conservatives want to see... and we have the RIGHT to see... to verify the legitimacy of this president! If it's no big deal, then you can see why it's so frustrating for conservatives like myself to not be shown the document! Where much is given, much is required!!! I would have no problem accepting the legitimacy of Obama as president ONLY if he'd accept the REQUIREMENT of having to prove his natural birth having taken place in Hawaii (or anywhere within the United States as the Constitution REQUIRES) some time ago.
