There was a lot to like fashion-wise at the Lincoln 2.0 Inaugural Ball on Sunday night at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, but a purse carried by partygoer Regina Glenn struck me as a must-have: The entire Obama family was embossed on the front.

Another reveler, Pamela Sofola, a Nigerian who works in Washington for the World Bank, captured a lot of attention with her gorgeous smile and intricate purple gown. But it was her hat that had everyone talking. Sofola explained that it was a headdress from her native land.

The Lincoln 2.0 Ball was held in the same building where Abraham Lincoln’s second inaugural ball was held in 1865. The festivities included a Lincoln impersonator mingling with the crowd and a Victorian champagne reception.
