Opinion: With Obama in White House, Pennsylvania Ave. now back in busy-ness

Just in case you were wondering, the motorcycles with flashing lights, the armored presidential Cadillac and the women wearing funny hats and pushing lawnmowers are all gone now.

And famed, historic Pennsylvania Avenue is back in normal business once again after Tuesday’s Inauguration Day parade for Barack Obama.

In fact, it’s so back in business that our photographer, Michelle Maltais, decided to stand by the curb for this shot. With Democrats now in charge both on Capitol Hill and in the White House down this street, the traffic is heavier now and the drivers much more liberal.
