Does he or doesn't he? Chris Matthews mulls Senate seat vs. TV chair

Nice to be in demand both onscreen and maybe off.

But television SHOUTER Chris Matthews' long pondering of whether to challenge Republican SeMSNBC talk show host chris Matthews ponders running for the US Senate from Pennsylvania as a Democratn. Arlen Spector for a Pennsylvania Senate seat next year is raising some ethical issues.

He's in talks to possibly extend his contract over at MSNBC while talking to himself about maybe jumping into politics again, this time not as a congressional aide but as a senator.

According to The Times' vigilant Matea Gold over on Show Tracker, NBC execs are confident the blond blabber will stick with TV ratings over electoral ones.

But they'd still like an answer soon.
