Kucinich bid to impeach Bush running a little short on time
(UPDATE: Now an even upper update: Kucinich spokesman Nathan White sends word that his boss is no longer trying to impeach President Bush, although he could if he wanted to, because he let the articles of impeachment expire last fall but could get it going again even after tomorrow's new president comes in. White adds that the book with Kucinich's name and impeachment articles in it has nothing to do with Kucinich and creates misunderstanding among those who feel passionate about getting Bush impeached.)
Just a little update:
Rep. Dennis Kucinich, who came within nearly 2,000 delegates of beating Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination for president, is still trying to impeach President George W. Bush.
Time is running down as the issue becomes moot Tuesday morning Texas time.
But an agent for Kucinich sends word that the former mayor has still assembled 35 articles of impeachment in a small new book titled "The 35 Articles of Impeachment and the Case for Prosecuting George W. Bush." It is available from Feral Books for $12, at least through Tuesday.
Kucinich is said to make the case that Bush should be impeached anyway even though he would no longer have a federal office to be impeached from or over. So far, no great groundswell of support from fellow members of Congress of either party.

This comes as close to misinformation as one can get without being totally wrong. Post-Office Impeachment is quite possible and I assure you that the Inauguration will not mark the end of the drive to hold Mrs. Bush and Cheney accountable in the judgment of history and accountable in Civil actions that can follow. In addition there are legal groups/advocates who have waited out Impeachment efforts to this point who will now turn their long prepared materials towards the Hague in pursuit of War Crimes charges. There is no statute of limitations in this regard.
Bush and Cheney may ride off into the sunset but they had best look over their shoulders at those not far behind them. The crimes of this administration cannot be allowed to be simply a matter of complaint and historical footnote. To do nothing more is to legitimize their
corruption and the undermining of The Constitutional Rule Of Law in this nation.
For those who don't care, or their caring ends with their departure from office I would say; You are a part of the problem. Your "Ostrich Syndrome" denial is an act of collaboration with the disease with which this administration has infected this nation.
All the spin and seemingly logical rational to just let all this go is an act of negation of every moral principle that this nation and its citizens profess to honor.

I second your comment Ed. We MUST as a people investigate the crimes of this administration and hold them accountable. War crimes are the highest crimes; we defined them and are obliged to prosecute, to not do so makes us complicit in the crimes.

The prosecution of Bush, Cheney and the other criminals in this administration is essential, if only to ensure that future Presidents and their underlings have a precedent that may cause them to hesitate before they commit the kinds of murderous crimes that the Bush White House has.
