Bill Clinton's so happy about Hillary's new job, he'd like you to celebrate too

You should know that Bill Clinton, the ex-president, is so happy about his wife Hillary becoming the new secretary of State and traveling all over the world all the time for the country that he feels like celebrating.

And he wants you to help celebrate too ...

Wait for it.

By giving her some more money.

You may not remember, which explains the spate of Bill e-mails in recent days, that the New York senator ran up quite a bit of debt bashing her new boss, the president-elect, during her unsuccessful presidential campaign that ended exactly six months ago Thursday. Gee, it seems like only twice that long ago.

Bill got in on the Barack-bashing too, to be honest, though he gradually came around in the fall. (And, btw, he's sent word he's not interested in taking over her Senate seat.)

Not counting the $13 million of her own money that she poured in and had to write off, Hillary's campaign debt is down now to about $7 million and change, which is the way rich people talk when the numbers fall into the mere hundreds of thousands.

Hillary owes most of the debt to Mark Penn, the campaign strategist whose campaign strategy didn't work too well, judging by the final Democratic Party ticket.

Technically, Bill's celebratory e-mail is seeking, just between the two of you, a whole batch of congratulatory e-mails to give to his wife.

"This is great news for our country." he says. "She understands the challenges we face, and her experience and judgment will help President Obama restore America's reputation in the world and make our nation more secure."

And there's a place to click and leave an e-mail congratulations and your own e-mail address in case you'd like to receive more of these messages in the future.

It's OK to appoint Hillary. She tried hard and she got her reward. I was upset when I read about Obama's Bill Richardson appointment. It's bad news; this is no change but the same old dirty politics.

Bill Richardson destroyed Dr. Wen Ho Lee’s life and career and never even apologized, he never said he was wrong, he was sorry, it was a mistake. I cannot trust this man untill he admits that what he did was evil.

“As concerned citizens, we write to express our opposition to the appointment of Bill Richardson as the Secretary of Commerce. Our objection relates to Richardson’s actions as Energy Secretary in violating Dr. Wen Ho Lee’s due process rights by prematurely terminating Dr. Lee’s employment, advancing the indictment of Dr. Lee when there was no evidence that he had engaged in espionage, and fueling suspicion about the loyalties of dedicated, hard-working Chinese-Americans. Richardson’s actions raise serious questions about his judgment and sense of fairness, requisite qualifications of a presidential Cabinet nominee. Until Richardson concedes and apologizes for his actions, we will continue to object to his nomination.”

WE WILL HAVE MANY PRESIDENTS, BUT WE ONLY HAVE ONE CONSTITUTION !!

It is a betrayal of the oath of office for a candidate to be sworn into the Presidency who cannot by his very birthplace meet the preconditions for taking office established by the very document said President would be sworn to uphold and defend against aggressors both foreign and domestic. Obama must NOT be permitted to take the Presidency if he cannot produce a VALID birth certificate proving he was born on American soil, and do so IMMEDIATELY.
God Bless and thank you !

I was fortunate to pick three of the top cabinet appointments in the days following that party called an election. I feel they are good bets and will serve admirably in spite of the hard right wind blowing against them. They should continue to tack left. That's the direction the country is heading. Look at the polls showing the American people do not want the Big 3 automakers to be bailed out by Washington. Besides, what's the rush? There's no plan.
Speaking of plans...gone wrong...Hank Paulsen needs to scribble a game plan down while he's still in the game. All I see is give the ball to the quarterback and pass....
But back to the nautical theme, this ship is taking water fast and the President elect needs to start bailing before Jan 20th or she'll founder on the rocks of Republican ribs.

I keep hoping the right attacks President-elect Obama before he gets into office. It's a sure way to get him to dig in his heels and keep tacking left. Any way the wind blows.

Folks, the Republicans hoodwinked us with the bailout. Take the money away from the new guy and he can't spend it on his socialist programs they reasoned. Too bad their reasoning is faulty, He'll print more. Then there's the reparations for the Iraq war, where is that money?

Don't let the screen door on this submarine of a sailboat hit you in the ass on the way out boys. You need to hurry to Nieman Marcus and get dresses for the Nuremberg hearings because they's a comin' I'd rather have a front row seat at the criminal trial of Cheney than one for the Inaugural gala. Been there. Done that.

Keep watching. Here in the Midwest (Illinois to be precise) we are busting buttons we're so proud of our state's son.

Give 'em Hell, Barry.
