Ticket Tips: What's coming today--Obama's economic team

November 24, 2008 |  3:12 am

A triple set of news videos to start a fresh week, including an unusual honor for President-elect Barack Obama -- they're naming things after him already, weeks before he even takes the oath of office.

First, what's going to happen today at 9 a.m. Pacific:

Obama will name his economic team, even though as The Ticket previously reported, most of the names have already leaked, to the stock market's relief. Timothy Geithner, New York Federal Reserve president, to the Treasury Department. Lawrence Summers, another Bill Clinton official, to be White House economic council chief. Likely New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson to the Commerce Department. (Watch this video.)

Now, what happened on Sunday was Obama named longtime confidante and spokesman Robert Gibbs as White house press secretary. So we'll be seeing a lot of this Alabama face in the coming months. (See video here.)

Now comes the really impressive video item. Obama is still nearly two months out from becoming president and already they're naming schools for him. This must be some kind of record.
