Sarah Palin is soooo yesterday, a Barack Obama backer insists
A couple of the warm-up acts on today's campaign trail couldn't resist trying to make the most of their short time in the spotlight, perhaps reflecting the intensifying fervor among partisans in the presidential race.
The Ticket previously took note of a questionable prayer offered on behalf of John McCain in Iowa (he was not present when a local preacher appeared to define the election as a battle among competing relgious beliefs).
In Philadelphia, meanwhile, where Barack Obama was making the rounds, the city's mayor made clear his dismissive attitude toward McCain's running mate, The Times' Seema Mehta relates.
"I have zero interest in Sarah Palin," Mayor Michael Nutter said at one of the rallies where he introduced Obama. "Sarah Palin's 15 minutes were up a long time ago."
His honor presumably will not be among those paying attention when Palin helps start the pro hockey game in his hometown tonight.

Nutter- so apt. Never heard of him, and his 15 minutes of fame now derives from talking about Sarah Palin.

What incredible bad judgment; Whip your crowds of supporters into a killing frenzy and then apologize the next day while you’re running mate is inciting another crowd. Would anyone expect anything different from the GOP?

So what would you expect from a guy with the name: "Nutter"? It fits i think!

I saw O’bama yell “YO” at someone the other day.
Do we need a ‘YO-YO’ president!!??
Is such illustrative of a true presidential demeanor!!??
YO, YO, YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Talk about one-sided coverage. Equally as many prominent people feel the same about Obama and Biden. Where's the stories on that?
Let me also set the record straight about something else for those who think they are educated but keep getting it wrong: we live in a REPUBLIC not a democracy. There is a big difference.

Sarah is this year's Sanjaya. Sarah has been amusing to gossip about, most anyone, especially giddy ultra hardcore Republicans, will agree that Sarah is pretty good at entertaining people. Now that people are getting serious about this election...it's very easy to look beyond scandal-prone, sarcastic Sarah, and that's what's happening. Sarah's act has indeed grown stale. The fact is that Sarah is not a serious contender in any regard.

Ministers and others must understand that " The Right to Life" is a choice. I am anti-abortion but will never force anyone to do as I say. To choose is a God given gift to every human being. It's a test while on earth. That's why we must educate, not dictate. What right do any of us have to choose for another, except in certain circumstances beyond our control. Ministers of all people disgust me with their self righteous ways. What about the sin of lying.. John McCain and Sarah Palin of the Republican Party are guilty of that and more, yet not a single complaint from any minister because they don't care about the other wrong doings. Give me a break! I wonder to whom he was praying. The Supreme Being I am sure does not condone any sinful act. Lying, abortion, racism, etc are all wrong. This whole fiasco is nothing but a joke. Ministers should be constantly praying for both sides and all sins and stay out of politics period.

What a bunch of haters you people are. Do you really think this country needs 4 more years of this crap? McCain just doesn't get it, he doesn't have a clue as to what's going on. Sarah can't even drop the puck at the hockey game without being booed out of the arena. I'm sick and tired of all the hate that comes from the Karl Roves of this country. This does not help anyone.

"To choose is a God given gift to every human being. It's a test while on earth."
Um... how then do you explain the fact that the unborn child does not get to "choose"???
Oh and by the way, murderers "choose" to murder, rapists "choose" to rape, thieves "choose" to steal. With your logic that "to choose is a God given gift to every human being," then there is no problem with "choosing" to commit a crime.
Some choices are plain immoral or illegal. Choosing to put a woman's wants above that of a child's is wrong and selfish. And how a woman can justify taking the life of an unborn child is beyond me. If the abortion does not take place, a life WILL be born. How can you justify that type of "choice" and then further excuse it in the name of "to choose is a God given gift.!?
Unborn babies deserve LIFE!!!!
And Palin's "15 min" will never be over for me because I will always remember this courageous, intelligent, bold woman, no matter what the outcome of the election. She has inspired me and helped me, as a pro-life woman, to find my voice!!
Oh... and if her "15 min" are over, then why does the media continue to talk about her day after day after day after day?? Can you say... obsessive!

Oh, please Blondshag. It's a name. Not a way of life. Do you give McCain the same scrutiny for perhaps being Pagan or of an Irish cult since his name is McCain?
I'm really just realizing how much ignorance is in the United States. If all you have is his middle name to attack him with, then you have nothing.
Say hello to your next president, Barack Obama!

Sarah Palin has a fan base, no one is denying that. No doubt there are jobs that Sarah's quirky personality would match up with perfectly. President or VP not included. Sarah Palin's oddball tale is a fun, amusing story akin to 'The Beverly Hillbillies'...that is, a person plucked from the backwoods and dropped into the frying pan that is international politics. It has been a 'guilty pleasure' to enjoy all the laughs we have had at Sarah Palin's expense. Still...she elected to go this route, and you can bet it has been quite the memorable experience for her.

Sarah Palin is a such a pile of human garbage. Oh, hang on. We have a term that befits this woman. A white trash.

Hey you guys at the LA Times! I know you are select -publishing the comments to give it an unbalanced view in favor of Sarah Palin. We can see what you are doing and think that you guys are just as pathetic as the dog woman herself.

Palin is abjectly unqualified, uninformed, and unethical. The cutesy wore off long ago. Oh, and doggon it, the subversive anti-American group, the Alaskan Independence Party fostered her political career, still contributes to her governorship, and she addressed the 2008 convention via video. People in glass houses...
