You betcha! More Sarah Palin video from 'Saturday Night Live'

As if crossing paths with Tina Fey wasn't enough, Sarah Palin stuck around for a second turn on "Saturday Night Live" last night.

After appearing in the opening sketch (click on the Read more line below to see that video), the GOP vice presidential candidate was introduced as the featured guest during the "Weekend Update" segment.

But, she told anchors Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler, there was a problem: "I'm not going to do the piece that we rehearsed," she said.

"You were so good at it!" Meyers protested.

But Palin stood firm. "My gut is telling me it might be a bad idea for the campaign,"  she said. "I think it might just cross the line."

So Poehler stepped in to perform a rap song about Palin and her home state of Alaska, complete with dancing Eskimos, a snow-machine-riding First Dude and a moose that ends up in the family freezer — with frequent cuts to the governor grooving to the beat ("All the mav'ricks in the house, put your hands up!").

Afterward, Meyers told Palin: "I think you made the right decision not to do it."

"You betcha," Palin replied.

Let's ignore the fact that Palin has one degree from the University of Idaho in Journalism and a minor in political science and Obama not only attended 2 Ivy League Universities, but that he graduated with a degree in international affairs from Columbia and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Harvard Law School...
and focus on real life experience.

I like Sarah Palin as a person, but I don't think that she's ready to be our next VP. Let's face it, she's governor of one of the U.S.'s least populated states, and her educational background and other credentials are not very impressive either. Personally I would feel safer knowing that Biden, with his strength in foreign policy, was in the White House as president. So yes, being on SNL shows that she has a good sense of humor, but that doesn't really qualify her to be our next vice president.

I guess I should now say that all of you McCain/Palin supporters are probably pretty happy that I won't be able to vote during this election. Only a few months older and I would be allowed to! ;-)

On a side note, I'm not sure why people are saying that Obama would lead us towards Socialism. Might I remind you that Congress has power as well?

1) Supporting the women's movement doesn't automatically mean voting for any woman who happens to be running. There are smart women and dumb women, just like there are smart men and dumb men. As a woman myself, I'd rather see a smart man in office than a dumb woman.

2) Why do so many Americans call anything remotely left-wing "socialism" and seem so scared of it? It's a fact that many moderate-left democracies (namely Canada and the Scandinavian countries) consistently get higher quality of life ratings and are more respected on the world stage. There is nothing scary about public services, and there is a long way between moderately liberal social policies and Venezuelan communism.

3) Just because Palin supports something you agree with, such as pro-life (which I too am an avid supporter of) doesn't make her a good overall leader. It's not a one-issue election, and quite frankly, the chances of either party legislating against abortion in the near future are pretty slim.

In conclusion, don't take her at face value and say, "She's a woman and represents the religious right and therefore I'm voting for her." A leader is more than just a list of stats, and anyone who winks at the camera, has never heard of the Bush Doctrine, and thinks living near Russia constitutes foreign policy experience is clearly not ready to govern, regardless of her position on the issues.

So please, before you blindly support Sarah Palin, listen to her speak. Research all the candidates' histories, positions, and plans on all the issues. Thoroughly. Consider that even though the media uses humour to point out her faults, they might actually have a point. Look at the pros AND cons of both parties.

I can't vote in your election, because I'm not American, but bear in mind that who you guys choose as your leaders will also affect me and my country, and the rest of the world. And many of us are scared to death of a McCain-Palin administration.

If Sarah was a man, nobody would be criticizing him for hunting, being a politician, Mayor, Governor, Business Owner, and taking all that experience and running for VP on a GOP ticket. Nobody would be criticizing him for taking the punches well, and saying, 'hey, anybody can do that.' The truth is, not everybody can do it, but she can, and she does, and she's a Mother of 5 all at the same time. Like when that person at Hillary Clinton's rally held up a sign saying, "Iron my Shirt"...if someone held up a similar sign at one of Obama rallies, that said, "Shine My Shoes", they'd be rioting for racism. Hey, no pun intended, but let's call a spade a spade LOL. 90% of the ciriticism Sarah Palin gets is motivated by Sexism, the rest is that others are just opposed to her policies. Within that 90% of Sexists, jealousy is what motivates them as well. Like I said, if she was man with the same record, it would be a whole different story. Oh, right, that would be Obama, who has less experience in Government than Sarah Palin, and he's the one running for the #1 slot to be President. How come I don't hear anyone criticizing him for his lack of experience anymore? Sarah Palin has Executive experience, Obama has none.
