Fox news to interview Sarah Palin; husband Todd gets airtime too

September 12, 2008 |  2:31 pm

With three separate ABC News interviews behind her, the Republican Party's vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin now moves on to the next network, Fox News.

Alaska Governor and Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin and her husband Todd with their new son, Trig

Her husband Todd, the United Steelworkers Union member, oil field worker, commercial fisherman and father of five, will also be interviewed separately, as the latest portion of the unfolding media frenzy over the political newcomer.

It's all part of a quick two-day visit back home that drew a large welcoming crowd.

The 44-year-old Alaska governor saw her son, Track, off to Iraq duty with the Army Thursday, although in her speech to the Alaska unit she did not mention her son specifically. (See news video below.)

The 19-year-old enlisted in the service exactly one year ago on Sept. 11. After her final ABC interview with Charles Gibson today, Palin returns to the campaign trail solo Saturday with an afternoon rally in Carson City, Nev.

Our blogging buddy Matea Gold has the new TV interview details as usual on the Show Tracker blog.

No interview from Bristol's baby's daddy?

Though in favor of a woman's right to choose, an Obama/Biden presidency will only lower actual rates of abortion through expanded sex education programs (pro-life + pro-choice = pro-phylaxis). I don't know why they don't come out and say that they are THE obvious pro-life ticket, be it the life of a GI, or the life of a fetus. In addition, their progressive economic policies will raise most women's living standards to the point that bringing a pregnancy full term is that much more feasible and therefore likely. And that child would grow to be a contributing member of a society that values all life, not just unborn fetuses.

Vote Obama if you really want to reduce abortion! And tell your friends to!

There is an error in your post. You mistakenly imply that Fox News is a news network. It is not.

Is Sarah Palin the first VP candidate to possibly be indicted? I honestly cannot think of another candidate this has happened to.

History being made.

Sick country, sicker press to pay attention to the sideshow.

Fox is rampaging in the chicken coop, Palin shooting wolves from aircraft, McCain doddering and lying in syncopation.
Great country, great press, great grief.

Palin quipped: “Charlie, we killed the bridge to nowhere and that’s the bottom line.” WHAT!?!…

Mere moments before though SHE ADMITTED that “she was just responding to the reality that it would not be funded.” (I think that means it's already dead, right?)

She continued that with “the federal government saying, no, the rest of the nation does not want to fund that project, you have no choice,” “You either read the writing on the wall and understand O.K., yes, that, that project’s going nowhere and the state isn’t willing to fund that project. So what good does it do to continue to support something that circumstances have so drastically changed? You call an audible, and you deal in reality, and you move on.”

So I guess she really shoulda’ said: “Charlie, we killed THAT particular bridge to nowhere AFTER it was already dead, but we kept the money, and we’re even trying to build a similar bridge to nowhereselse in Anchorage with some of that money. And THAT’S the bottom line.”

(Look up the “Knik Arm Bridge”.)

As a prelude to the following, be very aware that McCain has kept Palin very close at his side and/or at the side of his highest-level campaign strategists/advisors. Moreover, request after request to interview Palin were denied. The only reason McCain/Palin acquiesced and allowed ABC to interview her was because the American people started becoming suspicious-thanks, in part, to the media. Point is, McCain did not want Palin to give any interviews ever--he preferred to have her give Bush-aide-written-speeches and let the American people continue to lustily ogle after her and swallow whatever bulls**t line she uttered, despite it being vastly different from her actual beliefs.

After listening to Palin's interview with ABC's Charlie Gibson, how can anybody even think of voting the McCain-Palin ticket? Palin plainly refused to answer Charlie's questions. At least three times, Charlie asked her if she supported the bridge to nowhere before she turned against it--a simple Yes or No question. She never answered his question and his frustration was apparent. Regarding Charlie's question to Palin on "God's plan", Palin initially questioned Charlie's accuracy on his quote of Palin, but after Charlie told her it was a direct quote--she talked all around the issue, but never answered his question! At one point she even likened her words, meaning, and beliefs to those of Abraham Lincoln! Charlie tried to get her to state her position on Bush's doctrine, but it was so evident she had no idea what Bush's doctrine was, she couldn't answer Charlie's question as to whether she supported it. In a speech she gave in Alaska when her son Track and 4,000 other troops were deploying, she said they were going to Iraq to, "defend the innocent from the enemies who planned and carried out and rejoiced in the death of thousands of Americans"--that means she still does not get that Iraq was not behind the 9/11 attacks on the United States--even Bush has rejected this former position of his!

She is dumb, and ignorant on the issues of national security, the economy, separation of church and state, the Constitution of the United States (particularly Free Speech), etc! Moreover, she is evasive and tells lies, even refusing to own up to her own spoken words (or rants, as they were)! No matter what she now states are her religious beliefs, if you listen to her earlier rants from the time before she was in the national spotlight, she clearly believes the war in Iraq is a holy war--we can't have such a person sitting in either of the two highest offices of the US government! She cannot be trusted--if the decision is hers, she may muddy the waters so the American people are temporarily fooled, but she will wager a holy war--a war we won't be able to easily bow out of after it has started! If you know anything about religious-based wars, you know they are the hardest-fought wars, are neither defined nor confined by countries' borders, and are timeless. A religious war would rip apart the United States Armed Forces from the inside out and do likewise to the United States!

How can anyone not see how bad Palin would be for the United States? Keep in mind, McCain, now 72, is no spring chicken anymore. The pressures of the Office of President of the United States (POTUS) take a heavy toll on every president, but the toll on McCain could easily be life-ending. That would usher in President Palin! Are you ready for that? By the way, if Palin were an American male, of any ethnicity, or a woman of average American weight, beauty, and charm, we wouldn't be having this conversation--McCain would have been defeated the day he announced his pick. But because most American women wish they were as beautiful, slender, and charming as Palin, and most American men are looking all ogle-eyed at Palin, everyone's infatuation is blinding, or at least clouding, their sense of judgment. All of you McCain-Palin supporters had better snap out of it and tune back into reality before election day or, in the alternative, you'd better prepare for some seriously degraded lifestyle changes that include more war, many more casualties, cancellation of many constitutionally guaranteed freedoms, rights, and liberties, and lots of other things you won't like.

Palin will be treated like a princess on Fox. You can bet on it. Roger Ailes will see to it. On the Gibson front, at least he confronted her on the earmark issue. And she dodged the question. She DID push for the Bridge to Nowhere. She said it was a part of "needed infrastructure". Bull-pucky. It wasn't needed at all. She should have returned the money back to Washington. She admitted to taking the the money for the state, building a road to nowhere. McCain said on the View that Palin has NEVER accepted earmarks. Oops! She admits she does. "They (all politicians) do it." Okay, then she's a hypocrite. Just because others do it, it's okay for her. Yet she says she's a reformer. She contradicts herself at every turn. She pushed for Alaskan secession. If the Alaska is self sufficient, then why would she accept any earmarked funds form the government? This women can't tell the truth.

WOW. what has the Republican Party come to? Did you see the Gibson interview of S. Palin? She did not even know what the Bush Doctrine is and she wants to lead this country? Please? Did she actually graduate highschool? . It's funny how the Republican party states that "most Americans do not know what the Bush Doctrine is." Well...most Americans are not VP material. Obviously the person who is going to lead this country must be above and beyond the average person, and possess SOME basic political knowledge.

It is an alright shame that our nation and a Republican party would endorse such a candidate. Truly what has the republican party come to. I am embarrassed to call myself a republican.

"Poor Charlie Gibson. He was born with a leftwing elistist snob in his brain" with respect to Ma Richards, the last Dem Gov in Texas history.

Re Track, if the Nat'l Enquirer is to be believed, he should change his name to "Tweak." I wonder if it's hard to get Oxycontin, heroin, crystal meth, etc. in Iraq?

What's the matter, Rush wasn't available?

Sarah Palin is the freshest thing in government these days. She may not have done every single thing right, but she has more integrity than 95% of those in congress, Obama and Biden included at the top of the list.

I had planned to vote for McCain because I do not trust Obama. When Sarah Palin became his running mate I became excited and motivated to become engaged in the presidental election. Way to go Senator McCain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
