Holy Limbaugh! Sarah Palin turns Rush to mush over the McCain ticket
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- We knew that last night's boffo speech to the Republican National Convention here by newly minted vice presidential nominee Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was a huge hit inside the house. The Tic
ket covered that many ways last night.
And there's a video of her speech highlights below.
But now comes rush word that Rush Limbaugh --that's right, the Rushman, El Rushbo, the Rusher, who's been the self-appointed voice of broadcast conservatism to his many millions of faithful listeners -- has also been less than enthusiastic about the GOP presidential candidacy of Sen. John McCain.
But today, Sept. 4, 2008, a day that will go down in the annals of political history as one of the all-time greatest show biz flip-flops, Rush has fallen in love with Gov. Sarah.
As noted by The Page's Mark Halperin, in his broadcast today Limbaugh said this:
I did not want that to end last night ... I didn’t want the night to end. I didn’t want Rudy to stop. What a night! Folks, we have a future beyond November here. Regardless what happens.... The convention has been unified on the basis of conservatism. Properly executed, beautifully articulated.
Believe me, Barack Obama has a lot to fear today and he knows it ... the drive-bys are in panic, the Democrat Party is in panic, the liberal left is in panic ... they do not know who hit them, they do not know how to respond to this.
This lady has turned it all around ... from now on, on this program John McCain will be known as John McBrilliant.
No, really! Rush said that.

Ha, I agree with you Sandra. Linda N's adamant support of "Palim," really shows us the sound, intelligent, rational people that comprise McCain and Palin's base... yeah right.

I just don't understand where all this nay-saying over Palin is coming from! This is a woman who is demonstrating strength and progress.
But all the Obama supporters have had 7 good full months of media brainwashing and charismatic charm skew their view to believe Obama is America's answer.
It will be the beginning of the end when BIG GOV controls health care. Go OBAMA....SIKE! PALIN4EVERILOVEYOUOMGLOLROFLSTFU.COMFUOBMAMSUXORS.GOV

Obama 2008!!! Am I the only one who listened to Obama lie and attack in his speech? Attacking anyone forces them to defend themselves and its common to fire back, yet notice how the Democrats today are taking the high road with Bidden claiming he will "challenge, not attack" Republicans and how Obama is painting a picture of "Im here to unite, look at them attack". I guess Obama thinks your stupid and that its not an attack to lie and say that "McCain thinks the middle class is anyone who makes under five million dollars". WOW! Way to lie about a joke McCain made and funny enough McCain noted "that will be taken out of context". You dont have to believe me, look it up spanky, it will take 2 seconds. If you want to know media bias and political double speak, listen to Obama and Palin's speech, review the facts and then look at how reporting paints both pictures. Of Palin the media headlines state words like: "slaps, attack, goes after", yet in Obama's equally lying and attacking speech it was "unites, energizes, brings together, must-see-tv". I wont vote Republican this time, but lets call EVERYONE out on their deceit. The economy is going to be bad for the next 2 years, plan on Democrats blaming Bush, that is, unless it turns around, in which case, suddenly Democrats who gladly take the credit. Dont be so blind people. These are games both parties play and will do so for ever. BTW I can vouch that parking for the DNC speech around Invesco field were $55 for what usually costs $8, meanwhile the parking collecters were wearing Obama shirts! Tell me again about Obama's "hope and change"? Wake up people and meet each other half way.

Hey Greg, stop getting your news from Keith Olbermann and MSNBC.
Both Harry Truman and Jimmy Carter had lower approval ratings than GWB. It took about 10 years for people to realize they had given Truman a bum rap (and about 2 minutes to realize they had grossly overrated Carter).
I don't mind your blind hatred of Bush, just get your facts straight.

After helping to create the myth of 18 million dis-affected Hillary Democrats and the, "Obama can't win" narrative - he totally owns driving McCain to this pick. He'd better sell it.

That's right, folks. Liberalism is running scared, scared of the truth, scared of the reality that this nation is a conservative nation.
The end of liberalism is clearly on the horizon. Fear is heralding its demise.
But there's no need to fear. There's a cure.
Open your mind to the truth, know the truth, and join the cause for truth. Fear is no way of life. Live the truth.

The left is afraid of Governor Palin and they should be. Too bad she's "the wrong sort of woman" because they would die to have an attractive, accomplished, and electable woman to run. Fact is they certainly had a more accomplished candidate, but they threw her under the bus for a community organizer from the Chicago machine. They are going to lose big time to McCain/Palin.

Dear MoveOn.orgers, DailyKosers & Democratic Underground:
Now hear this. man as woman amazon Palin is a mortal threat to us. React accordingly in appropriate cyborg defensive fashion. Fill the blogs, send e-mails to reporters & commentators and keep your television tuned on 24/7 to Chris Matthews & Keith Olbermann for updated instructions. Displays of civil disobedience may be necesssary ala Rage at the Machine in St Paul. Last send emergency terrrified anxiety monies to your preferred 527 organization and to Obama campaign to help releave the palpable fear. The 'nazis' (remember rule #28: never refer to GOP this way in broader public- only amongst ourselves and with reporters) must be confronted & defeated. That is all for now
And to top off her spectacular delivery, half-way through her teleprompter sped ahead (sabotage? - never) so she had to recreate speech & deliver it from notes & recollections. Not bad I'd say for her under the circumstances ... and it was barely noticed she was so smooth. Last, any one with any political exposure knows that 'troopergate' is a political frame-up/set-up to try and tar her in Alaska for national trashing purposes. This 'investigation start' coincides to when Palin's name came up for national consideration (go check - not making that up) The blatant tip-off is the 'decision' 4 days from the national election - how officially convenient. While the lead investigating official refuses to now cooperate with Palin's newly appointed lawyer - will not provide copies or records of anything - just another Democratic political Star Chamber (historical English one-sided courts where the outcome is a given). Of course, any appeal and 'true' resolution will be a time after the election; but maybe we can fool/confuse some of the public to see this as a 'rea'l issue (as Polin is a 'real' person versus typical contrived politico); certainly give ammunition to our friends in the media (rule #29, a corollary of rule 28: never admit to the close incestous ties you have to media such as marriages, relatives, spouses, all deeply connected to Democratic operatives). But of course, the national media will provide the proper non-partisan perspective on all this. Just like they energetically did with John Edwards.
Beware the 'unqualified woman governor'! So unqualified she is causing major panic on hard left blogospheres (go read some of the vicious stuff there which the main stream media does not convey but takes leads from to 'investigate; how Palin's husband 'really the fathered Trig with his daughter'' (sick) - we demand to see Governor Palin's DNA & ameotic fluid reports, etc..
Why don't more people run for higher office you ask? Unless they conform to 'correct' norms, they will be destroyed. Thank heaven's the political machines of Philadelphia, Chicago, St Louis, etc are insulated from this becasue they generously fund 'community organizers' & offer election day 'walking around money'- it's a great country Amerika (slip there we mean America>see rule #15)

Based on the democrat responses, it would appear Rush was right. I guess that is why the dems always have him in their sights. He seems to know them better than they know themselves.
McCain/Palin 08

BTW...
As a committed Liberal I have to say that I respect Rush Limbaugh and must acknowledge that the Blogosphere owes a great deal to the current status of political debate in America to him.
I don't agree with Rush and that doesn't seem to bother him.
Sounds like Democracy to me.

Too bad Andrew Malcom's photo is just a head shot. I would love to see the color of his GOP cheerleader's outfit.

Seriously, the liberals don't know what hit them? Is Rush and the Republican base so out of touch that they think their "no big government," "tax cuts for the uber rich", "the media is out to get us" rhetoric is really what this election is about? Man, what country have I been living in the last 8 years? The government is larger than ever before, economic growth and job creation have been historically low, and we have colossal failures like Katrina and rebuilding Iraq. How much more of these flawed policies do we need?

rush is a has been, gop are intolerant, insensitive, evil, racist, homophobic. let's open abortion clinics in elementary schools and jr. high, bush is an idiot, the iraq war is lost...it goes on and on, and the wacky left is always wrong, always angry and yet, always entertaining.
thank you for your attacks, thanks for the vicious bile, thank you for your hate.
apparantly gov palin has gotten under your skin. funny, as republican, i was shocked to know that the LAT is still in circulation but aside from that, i want you to know we don't hate obama, not at all. we just think he is too far left of the main stream. that's all.
McCain-Palin '08, sounds like a winner to me.

Are we electing a homecoming queen or a vice president? Hard to tell from last night's speech. Only the uninformed would vote for the uninformed. Deplorable judgement on McCain's part. I don't know about you, but I don't really think it's appropriate to have a hockey mom potentially running this country. And I didn't need my graduate degree in political science to figure that one out...neither do you. Wise up McCain/Palin supporters. This is serious business, not student council.

Yep, Rush is a has-been.
A has been that just signed a 200 MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT.
I hope I'm a has-been like Rush some day..

I'm a democrat and feminist but have to confess that Sarah is simply amazing... Not that I agree with her social views. Whoever came out with the idea of drafting her to be the VP candidate was brilliant. And maybe I suspect Cindy McCain may have had to do with it... Obama is dead! He dug his own grave when he ditched Hillary. I'm voting for McCain/Palin just to teach that chauvinist male a lesson. He does not deserve to be president.

I keep reading blog comments gushing about Palin... and I saw the speech, but didn't think it was brilliant at all. It's all filled with one-liners, no substance, and no future.
But now I know why some people are gushing.... because Rush told them to.
That's why they call them dittoheads.
Good thing Democratic registration is up this year, otherwise we'd be stuck with McBrilliant for president.
Posted by: bluto | September 04, 2008 at 07:27 PM
I would like to point out, the Dem's and Obama/Biden and the followers are quick to say Sarah has no experience....can you all tell me what experience (Executive Experience, Foreign Policy Experience etc) has he got....NOTHING....he has not voted in the senate, never passed any laws nothing.....its all be words from him.....he wants to bring change to Washington, yet he selects a senator who has been in Washington for 30 years and is the does things the old washington way....
Sarah on the other hand has Executive Experience (thats one up on all candidates), she runs a state etc etc, has the highest approving rating of all senators and Govenors, is the head of the National Guard of Alask....
So tell me how is she inexperience, at least the Republicans haven't selected an inexperience person for the top job....
