Former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge took the stage on behalf of his friend and fellow war veteran Sen. John McCain.
Ridge referred to their time in Vietnam as their "common bond" that made them stronger. When times got tough, Ridge said McCain told him, "Tom, you and I both know we've been through worse."
"It's not about building a record, it's about having one," Ridge said, taking a jab at Sen. Obama's shorter tenure in politics.
