Fox News surges into ratings lead over GOP coverage competition

September 4, 2008 | 11:46 am

After CNN dominated coverage of the Democratic National Convention last week, Fox News regained the upper hand Tuesday night when the Republicans took the stage, drawing a bigger audience than any of its broadcast or cableConnecticut senator and Republican presidential candidate John McCain backer speaking to the Republican National Convention in St. Paul news competitors.

Fox News attracted an average of 6.18 million viewers during the 7 p.m. PDT hour when Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman addressed the GOP gathering in St. Paul. NBC placed second with 4.47 million viewers, followed by CNN with 3.22 million, beating out ABC, CBS and MSNBC.

This marks the second such victory for Fox News.

This is great news! Finally the Obama News Networks are getting their due! Their biased coverage has come back to bite them.

fool me once, fool me twice...?

it is extremely unlikely they can pull off another 'victory' like the one in 2000 though, when faux news was the network to proclaim gw president when he was losing by votes, thereby 'preempting' the subsequent fraudulent actions perpetrated with orchestrated media lies. the fabric of lies is wearing thin. the hideous monstrosity of brainwashing propaganda and censorship has been exposed.
the delegates owe no deference or loyalty to anyone, but are accountable to their own conscience.
RON PAUL wins, the people win. their civil rights and liberties.

I have to say, the best coverage was on C-SPAN for BOTH conventions. NO COMMENTARY, wow, what an idea, listen to the candidates and make up your own mind.

Regarding commentary, I have to say that I love reading the comments on blogs at the LATimes and NYTimes. Much more interesting than listening to anything on TV (a consolidated POV of a few corporations) (except C-SPAN, they're the best!) I wish TV was as diverse as these comment sections.
