The Invesco Field stage ... a press box view
DENVER -- The Pepsi Center is history, as far as Democrats are concerned; nearby (but much bigger) Invesco Field at Mile High now becomes the center of their universe.
Although Barack Obama is not scheduled to give his speech accepting the Democratic presidential nomination -- and, more broadly, making the case for his candidacy to miliions and millions of television viewers -- until late in the evening, here's a glimpse of today's frenized efforts to get the site picture-perfect, and sufficiently wired, for the big event.
The photo comes from our colleague Phil Ruiz (one of those who already has put in several hours of work at the stadium):

Looks like a venue fit for a king. Where is the temple?

McCain, his surrogates and media hacks will be proclaiming that this is another "celebrity" event for Barack Obama. This kind of statement insults all who have CHOSEN to attend the stadium tonight. No body is forcing anyone to attend. Those attending WANT TO BE THERE. They are intelligent folks who know how to walk and chew gum. Even if they do not support Obama, they may want to be a part of history. It's about history NOT celebrity. There's nothing worse than jealousy in politics. McCain is lucky if he can fill a local VFW hall.

The Dimocrats are hollywood gaudy. This Obama Schrine is where the liberals will worship the Trinity Church-of-Hate's junior decon, Yobama. So far, very small bump for Dimocrat Convention. Looks bad for Jerimiah Wright's homey.

I remember a time, not so long ago, when opposition parties would respect a Convention.
As per usual, the GOP has decided against this tradition.
Now, they're playing these Media games, like last night saying McCain has made his choice for VP, just before Clinton spoke.
Today, they *leak* they may announce the VP, just before Obama speaks.
And, of course, the foolish *greek column* thing.
When Bush spoke in front of columns, that was cool.
When McCain did... that was cool.
The GOP hypocrisy just goes on... and on... and unfortunately, the ignorant just believe, and follow... and follow, ad nauseum...

Why is this reminding me of a Super Bowl half-time show...could it be the location and celebrity entertainment? I'm ashamed to be a Democrat at this point and my vote will always go to Hillary.
