Just in: Obama picks Joe Biden as VP, text msg reveals

August 23, 2008 |  1:58 pm

Senator Joe Biden now the Democratic party's vice presidential nominee designate leaves a recent news conference in Washington with someone else

In case you're one of the thousands of people interested in the Barack Obama Democratic presidential campaign who signed up to be the first to learn his vice presidential pick via high-tech e-mail and text message, ours finally arrived.

It's Joe Biden, the senator from Delaware who's held that seat since Obama was 11 years old.

The news came about 15 hours after two unidentified Democratic sources, eager to steal their new party leader's publicity thunder and earn owsies from some media folks, confirmed Biden's pick to some reporters.

You can vote right here on whether you approve of the pick.

We'll let you know if the e-mail version ever shows up. Other than that, the high-tech announcement plan worked pretty well. But it'll probably be the same guy in the e-mail anyway.

High Strangeness Obama and McCain political ads.

Watching the random political adds showing up on http://illusions.me it first appears to be an Obama or McCain ad but then a few strange twists leaves one wondering did the Obama campaign do an ad for McCain and the McCain campaign do an ad for Obama? Or is it some others? Which is fitting because the page is about illusions and creating appearances.

Are some creating the appearance of being from a certain source only to disparage in subtle ways?

I got the text message from Obama's Twitter at 2:23 AM Pacific, but still not the actual message. Makes me think that he should have just used Twitter to do this whole thing, since it obviously works much better than his system.

this ticket with biden can smash and tear apart mccain campaign so much that republic party have to drill out at st paul to see where mccain people are hiding from people......

OBAMA/BIDEN 08....

I am SO glad a Clinton wasn't picked that would have just been plain stupid.

Bout time the Clintons fade away in the the disgrace they have brought upon themselves.
