Gauging Democratic distaste for President Bush? Let us count the ways

August 27, 2008 | 10:53 am

DENVER -- Someone had to do it, and we are so appreciative that our colleague Johanna Neuman, one of the mainstays of the Countdown to Crawford blog, has risen to the occasion.

Impressionistically, it was clear that part of the agenda for Tuesday's session of the Democratic National Convention was to turn up the heat on those benighted Republicans. Among the signs: an uptick in references to President Bush.

Neuman kept count of exactly how many times Bush's name was dropped (and kicked). She also reveals which speaker led the way in Bush mentions.

Neuman pledges to continue with her count, so it will be worth checking Thursday and Friday.

It is not just Democrats who have great distaste for Bush, its every American except a very few - and MCCain is the same. I do not believe any of the polls since they are only sampling 1000 or so people, none on cell phones which really limits their polls to older Americans who still have land lines. The whole media skews its words to support John McCain when he is the most dangerous candidate we have had, Bush Included. MCCain is too old, too angry, still living in the past, trying to win the long lost Vietnam War. He knows nothing about the economy, except that he is rich. He only knows how to bomb bomb bomb and kill. That is his answer to everything. despite the media 's efforts and the Karl Rove lie lie lie and cause fear tactics, Barack Obama will be our next President, thank God.

i had no idea bush was running again , maybe someone should tell the democrates

slim gym,

Yes Bush is running again... his name is John McCain

The exorbitant price of fuel has driven up the price of everything from the increased production and shipping costs. I have yet to hear more than a sugar coated one liner from either candidates as to their plans to bring Americans relief. Does either candidate even have a plan other than to support new off shore drilling. It is easy to say we need to decrease our dependence of foreign oil and seek out alternative fuel sources, but where's the beef...where's the plan?

now wouldn't it be great if the la times would be one of the papers to deliver fair and balanced - REALLY fair and balanced, coverage not only of the neocon-hijacked gop convention, but of the REAL republican convention, the 'rally for the republic' of the legitimate, constitutional republican candidate for president representing the core majority of the republican party, and the american republic, RON PAUL?
