Barack Obama makes a court appearance

August 28, 2008 |  8:58 am

DENVER -- As is his wont, Barack Obama blew off some steam today before his long-awaited speech tonight before a multitude of adoring Democrats by engaging in his favorite athletic endeavor -- a game of b-ball.

The now-official Democratic presidential nominee arrived at the Denver Athletic Club about 8:15 a.m. MDT with a couple of friends -- Reggie Love and Dr. Eric Whitaker.

According to pool reporter Matthew Mosk of the Washington Post, their game lasted about an hour. No word on whether he was on target with his shots or not.

I was a big fan of Obama in 2004 but he looks less and less presidential and the convention has not done anything to change that. No one in convention highlighted Obama's achievements. No ONE. I don't want to vote for someone just because he "sounds" good with TelePrompTer and I wished he would not have gotten that "greek temple" for his background speech.

He has to come down to earth! to our levels...

I realize that Google News often highlights your headlines and actually displays them as the main headline on any given topic.

I don't know if it happened this time, but can we come up with a headline that wouldn't immediately resonate with people who would be hoping to fulfill their racist fantasies of the man.

A co-worker just showed me an e-mail that came from a friend which essentially was one of the propoganda items making the rounds based on Corsi's book and various other slander. Those are the type of folks who would look at the headline, but not your tongue-in-cheek reference to basketball.

Do we really need a headline like this? Are you guys aware of the slime out there that this headline just ties in to? I am waiting for right-wingers to use the headline in one of their ads.

Please guys, think about it. And don't tell me I need a sense of humor.
