Unhappy with McCain, Obama, Paul? Name your own nominee here

July 11, 2008 |  5:58 am

And it won't cost you $300 million.

And, yes, we know Rep. Ron Paul isn't going to be anybody's nominee. But he could be.A Channel 3 reporter covers news that (insert name here) is being nominated for president

We are sincerely indebted to loyal Ticket reader Travis for this morning's week-ending chuckle.

He found a website that lets you nominate anyone for president (insert name here) and incorporates their name in a most realistic TV news video report.

You can see how ridiculous the site is by watching this version -- before you start pranking family and friends. (It might take a minute or so to load if busy.)

And thanks again to Travis. If anybody else comes across good/fun/unusual political sites, just send them to The Ticket please. We might highlight yours.

the most independent candidate for president, most viciously opposed by the neocon and liberal establishment, from the very beginning of his consistently censored, distorted and ridiculed, often blackouted message, campaign and fast growing healthy grassroots movement, of these elections is constitutional republican RON PAUL, labeled 'black horse' by the corporate media, and expected by many independent observers to become the first 'black horse president'.
an interesting introduction to his platform: his latest book, 'the revolution: a manifesto'.

i've yet to see anyone who's read/heard candidate for president RON PAUL's message, and understood what he's talking about, who is not perfectly happy with their candidate.

and, yes, we know that a lot of what 'top of the ticket' has to offer seems to be coming from, err...behind.

ron paul or die

After this, I'm ready to nominate Travis! Now THAT would be "change I can believe in."

Good Morning, Mr. Malcolm,

I just wish to re-extend my personal invitation for you to attend the r3VOLution March on Capitol Hill this weekend.

If you can't attend, say a prayer for us. The economy and the situation with Iran aren't looking too good--something major needs to change.

I don't think Obama has any real ideas, either. He seems rather vague--you know, 'hope, change, gladness, and light'?

Ron Paul understands in concrete terms how to change the precipitous course our country is on right now.

If you can't attend the March, I'd be happy to get a copy of Dr. Paul's bestseller: "The Revolution: A Manifesto" to you, if you have not had the chance to read it, already.

If you read it ( a concise, short but well-written, read), perhaps you would review it?

At any rate, please visit the "Campaign For Liberty" website to keep up on news of the r3VOLution.

Take care, and thanks for the past and continued coverage!

Funny site. There's still a mo-Ron or two clinging on, huh? Thanks for the cast Andrew!

Oh, Andrew. Thanks for the site.

This country is in the crapper.

Andrew, I have a book for you to read, if you are into reading... Murray N. Rothbard's 'For A New Liberty'... You'll get a much clearer view of where us Paulites are coming from, and why we are so passionate.

See you Saturday in the Capitol?

Ron Paul, still the only Hope for America. It will be all too apparent very shortly.

Heh - Andy needs Ron Paul traffic again? Pathetic.

I think Paul should run on the LP ticket with Barr. The current Vp root just doesnt even make the news. No one even knows who he is. He can go to http://www.BarrPaul08.com

Sign the petition asking the LP to put Paul on ticket. I was also wondering if anyone thinks that T. Boone Pickets Plan and energy campaign is going to have any effect on the election?? Maybe boone and Paul should team up.?? If you dont know about boones plan you can go to http://www.tboonpickens.com

Since Ron Paul was maliciously prevented from reaching as many people as he could and should have -- via blatant vote count fraud debacles in the primaries and deliberate media propaganda ridiculing and excluding him -- I really see a very dark next 4 years in America, whichever of the 2 equal-of-evils presidential candidates are chosen.

I see demonstrations, riots, uprisings and mass dissatisfaction as people wake up to the fact that they've been hoodwinked and lied to by yet another politician they thought they could trust. But this time it won't take nearly as long to loathe their bumbling, hypocritical new "leader" as it did for the people who voted (not once, but twice) for Bush.

As the Mayan calendar predicts, the year 2012 will either be the end of all as we know it or the beginning of a new age of enlightenment. I'd like to think Ron Paul 's message will be heeded in time to prevent the actualization of George Orwell's 1984, when America as we now know it, will cease to exist.

Ron Paul and his message is our only hope for the future.

Vive le Revolution!

I think we have lost America to communism when so many low-IQ voters are going for Obama.

McCain is handled by the same people so what choice do we have? None.

A good candidate will always be blocked by those in charge (Rockefellers, et al)

The facts suck! The American people hate the President, Congress and Senate. These bodies have become a permanent ruling class. We need new ideas not CHANGE of the old dems for you dems for the those Reps like the old Reps.

We need new ideas and Execution on the business plan.

On the GOP side the only candidate that addressed the War (without approval) and ongoing economic woes (did you see your 401K statement this month) is Ron Paul.

Ron Paul not only told America this was going to happen he outlined a plan to FIX it. Did you hear that RUSHBOTS!!!

I guess the LA Times considers it's self to be an organization composed of elite centers of knowledge! They even gave Paul a lot of coverage or even a fare shake so let’s call the LA TIMES to task for this mess. Yup they helped make the situation what it is today. Remember that!

GOP leadership is stupid!

RON PAUL is NOT

McCain is using STUPID RICH idea men that have single handedly ruined America i.e. Philbo Grammy. Check out the messy Mr. I am a true Conservative has authored.

THE GOP IS IN THE TOLIET because of old school schleps thinking.

RON PAUL IS THE FUTURE> Get or get lost!

McCain is a war hero reminds me of the old saying, "a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle".

What doe war hero have to do with running a country????

NOTHING!

THE GOP IS A BIG L ORGAN, unable to change only able to steal ideas that the left uses to steal the middle of the voting block. Promise the Grey haired panthers EVERYTHING AND VOTE FOR ME!!!

NOT THIS TIME !

RON PAUL is the first of a wave of smite government program candidates and they will rewrite the rules and arrest the wicked.

Get on you game because here we COME!

Ron Paul is a true American hero.

Mr. Malcolm' Thanks again for your sharing your freedom of the press. It belongs to only he who owns one/ Ron Paul is the only credable candidate qualified to supervist the internment of the bankers and the Bushers
They have all done us in so to speak. But if we start out printing our own money, cancell all interest paymentsamd get out of all foreign entanglements, there might be hope for this nation to be re born with the original hopes for the future. Remember the British? Liberty or death. Wasn't it Patrick Henry? or Obama ???

Let's fix the housing mess ASAP. I can care less if they bail out the banks and the folks that are losing their homes.

Lets eliminate the stupid wasteful funding of the Drug war, NASA, and all other programs that are costing 100"s of billions and give it to the "American People."

blakmira and others, do you ever find when you're talking to people that their eyes start to glass over, they start looking at their watch and making that little "I've got to get going now..." slow backward turn?

Ron Paul, of course. I will be Marching in DC on July 12th.

Jess - I don't get that look from others, but when people say they like Obama but can't give one policy he believes in, ("But he's going to change some stuff, and we have to Hope for Change We can Believe in even though we don't know what the heck that means), then I roll my eyes and walk away.
Some people just don't educate themselves enough to make decisions. 90% of Obama voters have never been to his website to see his policy, or looked at a congressional record to see what he voted for. Therein lies a huge difference between Paul and Obama supporters.

Economy is most important issue. People are losing houses, the nation is deep in debt. Cutting tax for the rich? or for the senior? the rich is not losing houses, the seniors are not losing houses, either.
The rich is not squeezed between a mortgage payment, a van (because they got small kids to transport), child care expense( how high has it gone up?! )Please help those people. More tax credit for childcare expenses!
more tax relief for mortgage interest payment.

Take the army home. let's make our people live more comfortably and happy so that we gather strengh to deal with those peole. There is no need to stay in the dead end. Americans are never ashamed of admitting "we lost this time." We are cool. and we can come back big next time with better strategies and preparation.
