Barack Obama's birth certificate revealed here

June 16, 2008 |  1:12 am

(UPDATE: Alan Keyes stoked the Obama birth certificate controversy anew in February 2009. See Ticket coverage here.)

[See August update here.]

First, last fall, there were all kinds of people, a number of them Ron Paul supporters, dashing from Internet site to Internet site suggesting that John McCain could not serve as president of the United States.

That was because he was born outside the United States and, therefore, not native-born, as presidents must be constitutionally.

McCain was, in fact, born in a U.S. military hospital in theBarack Obama's birth certificate copy as released by his presidential campaign in June 2008 Panama Canal Zone, where his father was serving in the Navy. That was, in fact, American-controlled territory at the time.

More importantly, his parents were both American citizens, so he could have been born on Mars and still been an American at birth. And a sense of the Senate resolution took care of any lingering doubts.

Now come the rumors about Barack Obama's birthplace, that he was really born in his father's native Kenya, so like Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was born in Austria, he can't become a U.S. president.

Same rule would apply as for McCain. Obama's mother was an American. So is her son.

The Obama campaign has provided at The Ticket's request what it says is a copy of the Illinois senator's official birth certificate, reproduced here, showing he was born in Hawaii on Aug. 4, 1961, at 7:24 p.m., which means he was late for dinner, just like a politician. Click on the photo to enlarge for reading.

Now, about the citizenship of all those people planting these rumors.

(UPDATE: In reaction to some of the comments left below challenging the veracity of the document, Ben LaBolt, an Obama campaign spokesman, sent the following reaction to The Ticket: "I can confirm that that is Sen. Obama's birth certificate.")

How can you tell if there is a raised seal on a digital 2-dimension reproduction? Birth certificates are provided by hospitals, and the states have records of registration of birth. I am sure many states have digital as well as or in place of paper copies. There are 2 kinds of citizens, those who qualify by virtue of birth, and those who immigrate and need to become citizens by naturalization. If you are a citizen by birth according to law, regardless where born, you are a "natural citizen." That's the law and it is clear. By the way, I got a passport with a hospital birth certificate that had a raised seal, but my name and data were hand written in by my mother, in pencil, and it was signed by only one of two required to sign it. I am sure if I were to ask for a copy from the state of my birth, it would be typewritten or digital. Besides, we all know Obama and McCain are natural citizens -- those raising doubts are either delusional or easily duped or deliberately trying to mislead others.

I have reason to believe this story is going to blow up next few weeks. The GOP is rumored to have the real deal but they are waiting until after the convention. If this is proven fake or doctored in any way, Obama will have lost all credibility. His citizenship will no longer be an issue.

Well we know this is a fake, because Barack's original name was Barry, which he later changed to Barack.

The certificate does NOT look legitimate. I hope someone checks it out. Images of this "digital file" contain the greenish paper "background" that extends far beyond the border of the document.

A document would have a concise border, not a green design background that extends well beyond the edge of the paper border.

The number on Obama's birth certificate is actually for a woman. Obama refuses to produce the actual document....wonder why???

I am sure this will be a very big issue come the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

Let me congratulate Hillary's die hard supporters who have worked so hard to make the Blacks say "WHE WUZ WHOBBED!

The Hawaiian Obama birth certificate is obviously forged. This will be the "October Surprise" of the election. However, by then it will be too late to place Hillary on the ballot and the Democrat party will be destroyed from the inside-out.

The only solution is to have a Senate Hearing on this matter immediately in a similar fashion to what was done for McCain to validate his natural born status earlier this year.

Write your Senators.

I don't care for either candidates. But until this presidentiall election, I had never heard of Barack Obama. Where did he get all this money to run for President of the US? Could it be from terrorist groups hoping to get an Arab Muslim into the White House, even if he's not a US citizen? I know he says he's not Muslim, but do politicians lie constantly to get what they want at any cost??? Wasn't he actually born in Indonesia? BTW, that's not an official birth certificate as stated because there is no official seal and signature. I know that's probably some type of a copy but copies still have the official seal and signature. Something to be concerned about I think. Just don't be fooled by all the fake promises because they'll say whatever they have to to get your vote even if they don't agree with what they are saying. After all, globally, it's not a race war, so to speak, but it's a religious war, don't forget that. Barack Hussein Obama US President, just doesn't sound right to me. And most of the world would love for him to be president of the US, that's also a bit scary, since most of the world is growing at a faster rate toward the religion of Muslim with the goal of world domination for the Muslim religion. Don't be fooled, but time will certainly tell of this truth. So with that, God Bless America!

Did Obama say he wanted the United States to be the United States of the past, that was his goal. I thought his wife just said recently that she is finally proud to be an American. That doesn't sound like she was proud to be an American of the United States of the past. By the way, I'm all for a black president. But I would much rather have Colin Powell as President of the United States. See, it's not about race for most Americans. It's the integrity and character of the person, not the skin color. I am concerned about religion, race is not an issue for me, anyway. If race were an issue with the majority of Americans, then Hillary Clinton would be running for President and not Barack Obama. So I get tired of hearing that Americans aren't ready for a Black president. Actually, Obama is more white and Arab than African.

Obama needs to produce the true certificate, not computer generated. Where is the doctors signature? He is hiding the truth from the American people. Perhaps when Hillary takes the floor at the DNC she will ask for a roll call Vote for her nomination.

I don't know about this BC, I'm from Hawaii, and although a few years later, I have a lot of signatures of key people in the process along with a lot more information, like my parents previous address, the name of the hospital, each of my parent's birth places, and a couple attendants, the Director of Heath, and the Registrar General at the time. And the seal is raised like a notary.

Obama's birth certificate is Exactly like my son who was born in Hawaii, there are no doctors signature, no hospital name, no parent addresses and my son's certificate say Certificate of Live Birth! Get real people, grow up and stop spreading gossip!

His father is African. His mother is American. That makes him more African-American than Colin Powell.

Just look at the lower left hand corner. This certificate is printed on a form revised in 2001.

I don't think this is a real birth certificate. I was born in Hawaii. My certificate doesn't look anything like this one. Mine has all sorts of info on it like parents ages, birth places, hospital name, address, etc. And mine has a seal that can be seen even on a photo copy!!! This appears to simply be a registration of birth that isn't witnessed. I believe this type of certificate is simply to register a birth after the fact. Since he is running for President and not dog catcher, I think there should be some proof of birth in Hawaii. This certificate is not it for me.

Soon, the failure to produce an actual, raised-seal birth certificate will be the least of Bambi's problems, as his layers of lies start to unravel. Oh, what a tangled web we weave. I'd be embarrassed to call myself a journalist if my "reporting" amounted to simply repeating everything I was told.

read this and then try to tell us it's not real.

When the birth certificate arrived from the Obama campaign it confirmed his name as the other documents already showed it. Still, we took an extra step: We e-mailed it to the Hawaii Department of Health, which maintains such records, to ask if it was real.

“It’s a valid Hawaii state birth certificate,” spokesman Janice Okubo told us...

The Hawaii Department of Health receives about a dozen e-mail inquiries a day about Obama’s birth certificate, spokesman Okubo said.

“I guess the big issue that’s being raised is the lack of an embossed seal and a signature,” Okubo said, pointing out that in Hawaii, both those things are on the back of the document. “Because they scanned the front … you wouldn’t see those things.”

Okubo says she got a copy of her own birth certificate last year and it is identical to the Obama one we received.

And about the copy we e-mailed her for verification? “When we looked at that image you guys sent us, our registrar, he thought he could see pieces of the embossed image through it.”

/snip

so the Hawaii Department of Health confirms it is real. how foolish do those people clamoring for a seal and signature on the FRONT of the document feel now, knowing that they appear on the BACK of such documents in Hawaii? idiots.

so where's the back? of course all this is not the major issue in this election sham, all too thinly veiled as 'democratic.' obviously both mccain and obama do not even legally qualify to run for the office of president. their comportment and vaguely globalist 'new world order,' and firmly anti-america and anti-freedom oriented agenda, otherwise a jumble of lies, corrupt and opportunistic contradictions dictated by money and power, disqualifies them manifold. the legitmate and qualified candidate with honest solutions to the fundamental problems, is candidate for president, RON PAUL. for small government, accountable to the people and the constitution, for strong individual rights, for peace and peaceful trade, for money controlled by the people and backed by real assets, for mature, responsible, and self-confident citizenry and a sovereign republic of america within secure borders.

If you enlarge the picture, there is a faint backward date-stamp that shows up showing 2007. Based upon personal family history of requesting duplicate birth certificates, I would guess this is a duplicate issues in 2007, but is in fact a legal document. They may have blanked out the seal and other "pertinent" information - such as the certificate id - to prevent anyone using the seal likeness for illegal purposes. Just a thought......but the date's clearly there - and had bled through from the back - if you look closely.

Look here, folks. For many (most) of us, there's no such thing as an "original" birth certificate. My parents never had mine. There's nothing but a record in the city/county record of births. (Same thing for my brother. I've seen both.) Same thing for my marriage. My wife and I were married; everybody signed, and we got a photocopy from the record book, which apparently is the only thing that matters. Does that make this record genuine? I don't know. But don't talk about "originals." For many of us, there aren't any, or at least we don't have them.

Take a look at the lower left....the registrar statement is different on the Obama "copy" than on the real copy.
This country needs to have anyone running for president to supply the proof needed......not questionable copies.
The seal is to my knowledge, placed on all originals and authenic copies of birth certificates.
What are they afraid of???? Hiding something????
COME CLEAN OBAMA.

So Andrew Malcom, no correction yet about the false birth certificate, or are you going to finally requilaify yourself as part of the human race ?

Okay, not that I really care cuz, I don't care for Barack Obama. But I was born in Hawaii in 1966. My parents had my middle name changed to a Hawaiian name when I was in high school per my grandmother's request as my sister was given a Hawaiian middle name. Anyhow, when I got married I had to prove that my name was legally changed on my birth certificate to my new middle name and I got the EXACT same green birth certificate as shown for Barack Obama, but my certificate no. was not blacked out (his is for identity purposes, I guess). This is a valid copy of a birth certificate from the State of Hawaii. The orginial certificate is a small 5 X 7 black piece of paper with a raised seal of the State of Hawaii on it. It also listed all the other pertinent data such as: hospital, doctor who delivered baby, etc. I am a retired Marine with 22 years of honorable service and my advice is do what I am doing. Just don't vote for him, I don't care for him either, but addressed all this energy towards something more constructive and DON"T vote for the "wannabe president" Hell ,I wanna be president too, vote for me. I served my country!

Jackhart, comment for ya. There is not a seal on the back of a COPY of a birth certificate. The green one as shown here is a duplicate. I have the exact same one. The original for hawaii is black paper with white lettering from the 60's and it has a raised seal. I had to request a duplicate as I had a middle name change when I was young. DON'T vote for BO!
