Barack Obama's birth certificate revealed here
(UPDATE: Alan Keyes stoked the Obama birth certificate controversy anew in February 2009. See Ticket coverage here.)
[See August update here.]
First, last fall, there were all kinds of people, a number of them Ron Paul supporters, dashing from Internet site to Internet site suggesting that John McCain could not serve as president of the United States.
That was because he was born outside the United States and, therefore, not native-born, as presidents must be constitutionally.
McCain was, in fact, born in a U.S. military hospital in the
Panama Canal Zone, where his father was serving in the Navy. That was, in fact, American-controlled territory at the time.
More importantly, his parents were both American citizens, so he could have been born on Mars and still been an American at birth. And a sense of the Senate resolution took care of any lingering doubts.
Now come the rumors about Barack Obama's birthplace, that he was really born in his father's native Kenya, so like Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was born in Austria, he can't become a U.S. president.
Same rule would apply as for McCain. Obama's mother was an American. So is her son.
The Obama campaign has provided at The Ticket's request what it says is a copy of the Illinois senator's official birth certificate, reproduced here, showing he was born in Hawaii on Aug. 4, 1961, at 7:24 p.m., which means he was late for dinner, just like a politician. Click on the photo to enlarge for reading.
Now, about the citizenship of all those people planting these rumors.
(UPDATE: In reaction to some of the comments left below challenging the veracity of the document, Ben LaBolt, an Obama campaign spokesman, sent the following reaction to The Ticket: "I can confirm that that is Sen. Obama's birth certificate.")

When a person is named "II" that usually means that they were named for someone other than their father. If they are named for their father, the birth certificate says "Jr." and not "II"
Joseph P. Kennedy II was named for his uncle, Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. who was killed in World War II. Rep. Kennedy's son's name is Joseph P. Kennedy III.
So who is Obama named for?

I can't believe that people keep telling us this is his birth certificate!!! I guess this really is the year of the death of journalism!! These so called "journalists" except anything and everything the Obama camp says as fact,...Will someone please report the facts and not just the propaganda put forth by Obama? Mr. Malcolm, you should be ashamed of yourself!! Do some real reporting for change!!
Several document experts have proven this Certificate of live birth to be a manufactured document, read about it here:

Let's get back to reporting facts and not just being puppets for Obama!!!

Although the birth certificate is indeed a fake, it isn't because it's a modern typefont or is titled "CERTIFICATION OF LIVE BIRTH". What he produced is actually quite similar to an authentic Hawaiian birth certificate.
Many people above have suggested that because the birth certificate is from 1961, it should look "older". This certification is issued this year, and so it obviously looks more modern. How it works is, the hospital prepares the "Certificate of Live Birth", which includes signatures, etc. They forward this to the Vital Records office, who puts the important information (name, date of birth, sex) into a birth database. They use the information from the database to issue "Certifications of Live Birth" and they store the original document in a vault. Although in most states, you can still obtain photocopies of the original record, most states also issue Certifications like this, that include only the basic information.
What makes THIS certification fake is that it does not bear a signature or a raised seal. All genuine Hawaiian birth certificates have these items. Based on that fact alone, this is not an authentic certification.

This fake birth certificate doesn't even have a court recorders stamp on it nor is it signed by anyone. Every birth certificate I've ever seen, as a document invesitgator for 25 years, has had an official seal of the court recorder on it and it has a signature on it attesting it is real and authentic. Obama could never use this brith certificate as proof of birth because it fails to have those two features on it. This is obvioulsy a fake.

Why not just present a 'real' copy? Considering this looks fake why not go to the actual biulding with his media circus and have every thing procast live and put all doubt to rest?
What is Obama hiding?
Posted by: SARA | July 29, 2008 at 07:54 PM
freedom not exercised is freedom lost
obama is not hiding his contempt for the constitution, the civil rights and liberties of the people.
and as mccain, he does not qualify to run for the office of president.
since these false puppet candidates and their 'handlers' see themselves as above the law, they have no scruples whatsoever to commit unethical and illegal actions. since they command inexhaustible financial resources, it would be very easy to produce a background and documents for these candidates that could not be identified as fraudulent by the people.
so the very fact that they do not seriously choose to hide this, is both an arrogant demonstration of power - and a way to provide a choice for the people to refuse to accept this. this way, if the people willfully choose to ignore and deride their constitution, their rights and responsibilities, and therefore lose their country and their freedom, the perpetrators would justify this in their own eyes, and the people would be responsible for paving the way to their own slavery. in their eyes, a people that would rather throw away their vote to a 'rockstar' or a 'fashion model' or a 'pow', or a political party, or anyone who'd abuse their power; and not vote to see their rights protected and their interests represented in government - such a people deserves to be enslaved or dead. as exemplified in the stories of jacob and his brother esau, and cain and his brother, abel.

You people are just plain ignorant. My grandson was born in Hawaii and I was present at his birth. His birth certificate is exactly like Obama's. They only list a hospital if the child is born in a hospital. Some people are born at home like three of my siblings and me were.
Get a life and move on. There are too many more important things facing us -- like gas prices, the war, the deficit --.

Despite the MSM's best efforts to ignore this story, it's rapidly becoming the elephant in the kitchen. It's grown beyond whether or not the published version is a fraud (I was in publishing for 15 years and I knew within a few seconds of enlarging the graphic when Kos published it that it was bogus).
The issue now is, Obama could silence this controversy in a heartbeat by making his REAL birth certificate or a certified copy of it available. Yet he doesn't. Why?
If there's nothing to hide, show us the real certificate and let us go about our business.

If the Los Angeles Times has come up with this info, they should take this ball and go with it.

Why is the certificate number blacked out if this is legit? It is so nobody can verify for themselves with the State of Hawaii. Also, where is the embossed seal of the state of issue that is legally required to be on such documents? I had to order a copy of my own b.c. recently, and it has the embossed seal of the state I was born in. This is NOT a legit birth certificate.

Reality check, people. First, the birth certificate IS probably not the original birth certificate Obama's parents were issued. Parents often lose documents. Anybody can get an official copy of their birth certificate from their birth state. It is generally only official if it has a seal, but "Unofficial" copies can generally be had for less. Not everything requires an "official" birth certificate.
Second, There is probably a seal on the certificate - but it would almost certainly be an embossed seal that can't be photocopied. I've got several official copies of my birth certificate from Illinois, and they all have seals. You won't be able to see it on a computer, unless you have a 3-D screen.
Third, birth certificates vary from state to state. You can't tell anything by comparing this document to your own, unless you live in Illinois.
Fourth, a "natural born" citizen is simply a person who was born a citizen, as opposed to somebody who was "naturalized". Having a parent who is a U.S. citizen makes you a citizen, regardless of how long they lived in the U.S. or whether you were born elsewhere or if your parents were married.
Fifth, the legal issues related to citizenship were worked out a couple of centuries before Obama was born.
Seeing this thread is encouraging, though. I've been quite concerned that the left wing had caught up to the right in sheer lunacy in their fanaticism for Obama. I'm glad to see that you guys are still light years ahead of us. Thanks.

NO QUARTER has done a forensic analysis on that document and they say it is a forgery.
They aren't saying he wasn't born in Hawaii, but they are saying that that birth certificate was forged using Obama's SISTER's document as a template.
Suspicion is that Barack Obama has had a few name changes. Or was adopted by the Indonesian stepfather.
Or something. The Obama campaign needs to explain themselves, because the close up view of the document DOES look like it has been doctored. The KOS people who put it on the internet also need to explain why they tried to pass off a forgery as a real document.

It would seem to me that with such a important issue as to the legal status of the men running for our nations highest office that a federal investigation would be called for to clear up any questions.. I realize that lying to the people is a perfectly acceptable way of life in politics but they should at least wait until they are elected ******* oh thats right they both are already elected officials nuff said.

I'm curious. Is this a recent certificate from the state of Hawaii? In 1961, they were using photostat copies of birth certificates. This is a computer generated on, similar to the recent one my wife received as a replacement. Also, where's the embossed seal? How come the certificate number is blacked out? Who really cares? More importantly, he's a radical socialist who befriends other radicals and anti-Americans to further his political ambition.
If the citizens of this country, especially the younger generations, were taught to think and question in school instead of being spoon fed anti-US garbage, they would reject Obama as a hack who stole his slogans from the movie, Matrix. God help us all if he's elected.

Wake up people most everyone of you have a birth certificate take it out of your draw and look at it you honestly don't see any diffrences? When you go to any goverment office to apply for anything they ask you for that certificate, and if it does not have that official seal on it you walk out the door empty handed. That is not an official Birth Certificate WAKE UP PEOPLE
Posted by: Terry | August 06, 2008 at 08:10 AM
Are people really that damn stupid?
I don't have my original birth certficate. I have one reprinted and issued to me by the state agency that handles it.
This is pretty status quo for many people.
This is more evil slander by people who don't want to have a black guy be president, but look for ANY other possible slam against him so they can deny their racism while knocking Obama down.

I wonder what document Senator Obama used to obtain his passport from the State Department. No birth certificate is worth anything without the raised seal from a State Department of Vital Statistics and/or certifications that it is it is a true copy. My son's were born in the 1960s and their birth certificates are photostatic copies--black background with white lettering, but they bear the State DVM's raised seal. I worked for two Government Agencies, and when we made copies of birth documents, we always brushed the seal lightly with carbon paper before we copied them for our records so the record would contain a copy of the real deal. If everything is okay, they should produce a certified copies of their birth certificates. I had to when I applied for my passport and Medicare. What's good for the citizens is good for the politicians.

you people are a bunch of nit wits. you argue about citizenship and completely ignore the fact that obama is a racist communist. no wonder this country is going down the tubes. you people can't even look at the back ground of a man and figure out who he is!!! you remind me of battered woman who keeps returning to her man because he says he "loves" her. you don't deserve to be free, you don't understand the sacrifices made by others that fought for your freedom.

Hey Drew,
That's interesting stuff.
I think that Obama's ethnic ancestry may make him the second Melungeon president with Lincoln being the first.
Only 43.72% joking here.

What I didn't see (but may have missed) is a reference to birth certificates like mine. Which says/claims that I was born at 11 Schermerhorn Street, Brooklyn, News York on April 14, 1935. It is signed by the Mayor, the Registrar of Records, and the Commissioner of Health. But none of these people, or a doctor, was present; they are just saying that this Certificate of Birth is one file in the Department of Health. There is no evidence that I wasn't born at some other time and place as I was surprise birth at my maternal grandparents house, at least so says my baby book.
I've used this Certificate of Birth to get my U.S. passport and the passport let me stay in Japan for 18 years, register my marriage to a Japanese citizen, and sponsor her Green Card. She tells me that in Japan (at least at the time of her birth), both marriages and births were only considered "registrations" not actual facts-on-the-ground which often occurred at some time previous to the registration (like wise, marriages are also registrations as there is no license, no authorized agent of the state performing a ceremony; you fill out a form, have three others sign it, and you're good to go). Thus there is nothing to prevent somebody giving birth in nearby Korea -- and smuggling the child into Japan by sea and registering it as born in Japan.
And there is nothing to prevent somebody giving birth to somebody in nearby Canada and smuggling the child into the U.S. and registering it as born in the U.S., at least when there was no hospital/doctor involved. And even though there was a hospital/doctor involved, they could have been bribed.
Thus when we come to the idea of belief/truth/faith, I think we need to invoke Thomas Merton who said, "Faith is not blind conformity to prejudice - a "pre-judgement". It is a decision, a judgement that is fully and deliberately taken in the light of a truth that cannot be proven." In legal matters, such as whether Obama is eligible to be president, I think this decision/judgement needs to be made by the courts, finally by the U.S. Supreme Court.

There is a Rumor that his father was already married, and that him being a Kenyan Citizens under the Law that a male (unlike a Female child being born to a male Kenyan Citizens) child would be a Kenyan citizens until 23 years old, thus making him a kenyan citizens and at the very least having duakl citizenship making him ineligible to run for President of the United States.

BTW, I neglected to say that the Birth Certificate I'm talking about has NO raised seal, only a barely readable watermark that doesn't copy. It's so old and flimsy that I've patched in with clear tape and it's still accepted.
It's been successfully used since at least 1939 when it was most probably used to get my social security card (presumably by my mother who rented me out as child model when she worked for Macy's for $5/week).

I just received a COPY of my birth certificate and have to say, after looking at what is supposed to be a copy of Obama's. Either mine is fake or his is. By the way, mine is from Hawaii also.
