Barack Obama's birth certificate revealed here

First, last fall, there were all kinds of people, a number of them Ron Paul supporters, dashing from Internet site to Internet site suggesting that John McCain could not serve as president of the United States.

That was because he was born outside the United States and, therefore, not native-born, as presidents must be constitutionally.

McCain was, in fact, born in a U.S. military hospital in the Panama Canal Zone, where his father was serving in the Navy. That was, in fact, American-controlled territory at the time.

More importantly, his parents were both American citizens, so he could have been born on Mars and still been an American at birth. And a sense of the Senate resolution took care of any lingering doubts.

Now come the rumors about Barack Obama's birthplace, that he was really born in his father's native Kenya, so like Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was born in Austria, he can't become a U.S. president.

Same rule would apply as for McCain. Obama's mother was an American. So is her son.

The Obama campaign has provided at The Ticket's request what it says is a copy of the Illinois senator's official birth certificate, reproduced here, showing he was born in Hawaii on Aug. 4, 1961, at 7:24 p.m., which means he was late for dinner, just like a politician. Now, about the citizenship of all those people planting these rumors.

Am I missing something here? John McCain was born into a military family ASSIGNED by the United States Navy to the Panama Canal Zone at the time of his birth. His father very likely did not have an option as to where he would be stationed (anymore than I did when I served in the Navy in the 1960's). An argument could be made that the senior John McCain could have arranged for his wife to deliver their son on U.S. soil had he known it would be an issue when his son chose to run for president, however, I doubt the framers of the U.S. Constitution foresaw the emergence of the United States as a world power or as someday having military outposts throughout the world. It is not like a civilian employee working overseas with a choice as to whether he or she wishes to be away from native soil, this issue seems to be one simply of whether or not the offspring of an American military family should be barred from the presidency solely on the basis of where he/her father/mother is stationed in service to his/her country.

unbelievable...i have this same type of document and it has been used for many occasions where the government required a birth certificate...i have traveled the world many times and also needed it for security reasons...i am guessing all you people who don't believe this form have never been anywhere...get out and explore more than your own little world in front of the television in your living room.

this is not the vault copy which is more decriptive (samples of a hawaiin vault copied birth certif from 1961 to 1963 are on the internet), and this is a certification of birth, not a birth certificate, big difference.

How many of you have your original birth certificate? I lost mine in a flood. His mom died when he was around 12 years old? How could you expect anyone to keep track of an original birth certificate with everything we go through in life? A new birth certificate never looks like the original. This is incredible! I can't believe we even allowed Obama to run for president. Even my 15 year old son took 6 months to get his permit because we didnt have the right paperwork. come on!
Also, I had to get a new birthcertificate for my step-daugther a few years ago. It, too, had a stamped seal on it. Why can't Obama do the same? If everyone is so unsure, let him go down and spend 12-14 dollars and request a new one, live on camera.

I have personally, in the course of many many years of my former employment, been officially tasked with the examination and verification of birth certificates not only from the 50 States of the United States but every country in the world that issues Birth certificates, and other birth records as well, issued from near the turn of the century until the present time. What has been presented here is a jpg of a paper document. It is not paper at all but an organized collection of pixels and in and of itself proves nothing. It is a representation of a Certified copy of a Birth Certificate. The original document of which this jpg purports to be a true and exact copy, would have been issued by the certifying government authority, a State or Local Government Registrar, who would have affixed to the paper record a stamp or seal attesting to its authenticity. This stamp cannot be verified from a .jpg. This certified copy could also have been issued yesterday and been entirely valid, accounting for its use of computer fonts, etc. It is derived from hospital birth records or possibly other non-medical records that might have been supplied by a midwife or the parent herself soon after birth. The birth was registered 4 days after the event which is typical. It looks real to me. However it doesn't look real to Obama deniers and haters because their judgments are fixed apriori. So much for their rationality. The "original" Birth Certificate, bearing the actual ink signatures of the Doctor, parent, registrar, etc. is maintained along with hundreds of millions of others, by the Registrar in a Government fireproof vault and probably microfilmed well. These "originals" are never given to the public and an examination of them would require a court order based on cause. This certificate was issued later on. Different States and localities have also had many different ways of issues Birth Records over the years and those methods have changed from time to time. Look into other issues to oppose the impending election of Senator Obama. This is a red herring.

No, you're not really missing anything... it would be ridiculous to disqualify a citizen because they were born overseas to due to their parent's military service... but, as you said... it was not foreseen by the founding fathers so, consitutionally, it is not clear. If it's challenged, it has to, technically, go through the proper channels (courts) to be resolved. What's really saving him right now is that, not only don't they know what to do about this, they don't even have a clear picture about who has the "standing" to take it to court. It's a crazy situation. I'm not a McCain fan, but it seems really unjust to punish someone for their father's overseas service. As Dickens said "The Law is an ass".

Stop down to the local hall of records in your town and ask for a certified copy of your birth certificate. I bet it looks an awful lot like that.

I haven't seen my original birth certificate in years. Anytime I need to furnish it, I get a certified copy from the hall of records that is much more modern looking than the one that parents received from the hospital when I was born.

I recommend getting a passport and traveling outside of the country to get a real feel for what it truly is to be an American.

We have responsibilities to each other as well as to the world. Get outside and realize that we're not children of entitlement, but rather lucky to have been born within our boarders.

So, you're telling me that they did this excellent forgery, but instead of just making a forgery of a 1961 Hawaii birth certifcate, they made a forgery of a 2007 certificate,,, complete with the bleed through mark from tha stamp on the back which clearly shows the date it was printed (June 6, 2007) then they made up a story about how he lost his birth certificate and had to get a replacement? Why not just make a forgery of a 1961 birth certificate?... it would have been have easier to explain and a lot easier to forge, (they didn't use as sophisticated anticounterfeiting devices back 1961)

Well, since you see this as such an obvious case, and you're an expert lawyer who handles these things all the time, I'll be looking for you in the papers tomorrow. It would be the case of the century and, clearly Berg hasn't come up with this evidence....
