Watch it yourself: Hillary Clinton meets with Indiana journalists

April 29, 2008 |  9:30 am

Having participated in similar sessions ourselves, we can't in good conscience bill Hillary Clinton's sit-down today with the editorial board of the Indianapolis Star as "must-see" TV.

But see it live you can, via the magic of the Internet, at IndyStar.com. The proceedings kick off at 3 p.m. EDT (which, for the time-zone challenged, is noon PDT).

Barack Obama met with the board last week, and the high points of that dialogue are available at the same site.

I actually do find these "must-see TV". The stump speeches rarely change, and editorial boards ask MUCH better questions than debate moderators! (And not just Stephanopoulos - I still remember that student forced to ask Hillary that "diamonds or pearls?" question instead of the serious question she had prepared.)

I don't know why Obama always goes first, while Clinton's team is always reported as "still working out the schedule". I expect Clinton's team wants to study the videos before they tell her what to say. Still, a bit surprising after Clinton's complaints that she always gets asked the first questions in debates.
