The Ron Paul revolution continues

At least in Missouri. Apparently cadres of Paulistas read the Missouri Republican rule book and burrowed into the party structure from the inside this weekend -- at the county caucus meetings.

Usually attended only by party apparatchiks, the caucuses help set the official party platform and deal with internal rules issues. The kind of stuff most folks ignore. Not the Paulistas, who swarmRep Ron Paul of Texas Republican candidate for president and his Paulunteers continue their grassroots efforts to control the party platform in county conventionsed meetings in St. Louis, Kansas City, Springfield and some rural counties and, as the St. Louis Post-Dispatch put it,  "snagged roughly a third of the 2,137 state Republican delegates."

All of which would be yawn-inducing except that "those delegates will determine the state GOP platform this spring and help select the presidential delegates to the national Republican presidential convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul in September."

Also in the weekend caucuses, the Paulistas "won approval for some of their man's key positions, including resolutions for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq and Afghanistan, and against the federal Patriot Act and warrantless wiretaps."

The biggest hit: A resolution to be taken up at the state party meeting in the spring to repeal the rule that all of Missouri's 58 delegates go to the winner, John McCain. "We're not holding out an illusion that Ron is going to win the nomination," said Debbie Hopper, Paul's national field director. "This is about calling the Republican Party back to its roots."

Some of the party regulars tried to call foul, saying that many of the Paulistas were Democrats, Libertarians or others ineligible to participate. But St. Louis city Republican chair Judy Zakibe gave credit where it was due. "Our people didn't come out," Zakibe said. "That's what cost us."

It's like the lottery ads say -- you gotta play to win. And the Paulistas played.

Damn straight! Take it to 'em!

Go Ron Paul for president 2008!
let's take back our country from the NeoCons who only want death and financial destruction!
We will Prevail!!

From A Revolutionary!

Martelle can quit with the "Paulista" slur. Call us what we really are: Patriots!

As for MO, yes, the world really is run by those who show up, and show up we did. More notable is that the support for the Panamanchurian Candidate was not there, and other non-MSM reports from people in the county conventions report that the support is at best reluctant for McCain, based on misguided party loyalty zombie-ness instead of the enthusiasm and energy of Dr. Paul's Patriots.

BTW, this is happening all over the country and people in the MSM aren't reporting it, and they're going ot be very surprised down the road.

Scott - why the Paulistas? These are patriotic concerned citizens that care - we in Pennsylvania will elect our unbound delegates and many are still Congressman Paul supporters. McCain does not represent what we believe in, besides he's being set up to loose to the democrats. Give Congressman Paul a break & be frickin respectful of our choices as Citizens. Missouri is to be commended, same with Washington State, Kansas, Maine & on & on. Regean got the nomination over Ford the appointed years back - I pray that Ron Paul does the same of McSane in the membrane. Lancaster County loves Congressman Paul.

Some northeast states will be having state caucuses soon. Perhaps the quiet revolution will fare as well there.

Thank you again, Andrew. Ron Paul has ignited a fire. And Missouri is just one example. There are others.

We need one good showing!

I love how some of the county chairs complained. They threaten to throw out the delegates when they find out they ain't truly Republicans but Democrats and Libertarians trying to vandalize the party! Hahaha. Wow, the GOP is a big tent huh?

I wonder whatever happened to the Old Right conservative movement.

Why is there such a disconnect?
This is the American people fed up with a two party system who intentionally keeps third parties out.
Fed up the the legislators of both parties who pocket money and legislate against the people of the United States of America. We will not be silent anymore.
We are your family, your friends, your neighbors.
We are fed up with welfare, warfare and be forced to give over half of our paycheck for failing programs.

All that is needed to support Dr. Paul is KNOWLEDGE. If you are aware of our flawed monetary system (corrupted is a better word for it), if you aware of what individual/economic liberties are, if you are aware of what the Constitution is and what its purpose is, if you are aware of what this American Theatre called Democracy is... you know, the theatre where the American People think they can bring change by voting when reality shows us that the game is rigged and the options given to us are three CFR puppets... handpicked by the Corporate Fascists running this country.

If you are aware of all these things and beyond then you will automatically become a Ron Paul supporter, if you are just another ignorant and apathetic American you will be voting (if you even vote) for Hillary, McCain or even that wolf in sheep's clothing Obama.

Carlo C.
Miami, FL

we are in the process of doing the same in Texas. At my precinct convention....it was about 7 Paul supporters out of 10...we passed Paul-Platform resolutions and ALL delegates elected were Paul supporters. AT THE COUNTY CONVENTION, I WILL TRY TO CHANGE THE PARTY RULES SO WE DON"T VOTE FOR MCCAIN.

This is the bottom line. Ron Paul supporters are not fanatics for Ron Paul, but for liberty. It is sad that there is only one neglected and ignored candidate that is truly American and truty Constitutional in his beliefs and voting record. In Oklahoma it made me sick to hear the same old party hacks telling the same old story, without regard to the Constitution. The difference this time was that they were beaten by people with a conscience!

A MO filmmaker is also supporting Ron Paul, giving a share of his DVD sales to the Ron Paul campaign.

The film is a great satire on the president, the mainstream media, and the war on terror, see this YouTube music video from the international award-winning zombie musical feature film, "Song of the Dead." (www.songofthedead.com)It' stars horror movie veteran Reggie Bannister (Phantasm, Wishmaster, Bubba Ho-tep) as the president of the U.S. The filmmaker, Chip Gubera, is giving a share of his profits from DVD sales to the Ron Paul campaign. Washington State checking in for Ron Paul.

They bring the ass we kick it.

What I love about Ron Paul is, he has not nor will be in anyone's back pocket!!!

i sure hope he attempts a third party

Way to go!!! Take this country back from tyranny!!

It will never end people. Why? because truth and justice will prevail in the hearts and minds of Americans.

http://www.ronpaulforpresident2008.com/

We WILL take our country back! McCain, Hillary and Obama have MILLIONS of "supporters" who will disappear after November, or even earlier. We are here to say! I am just 27 years old, just becoming involved politically, I will devote the rest of my life to the Ron Paul R3volution.

Still trying to tread that fine line, aren't you, TOTT?

Paul stories mean hits to your little blog, but at the same time, Paul must not be taken too seriously,

hence the the new term "Paulistas" - used to taint an otherwise balanced article. I guess there must always be some kind of reminder of the official old media position - that Ron Paul is not a serious candidate.

The fact is that he is the ONLY serious candidate, and the only true leader. By that measure, you Tickheads and your "Paulista" crap are still a long way from showing him (and his supporters) the respect he deserves.

I'll keep watching and reading though, just to see if you get religion, knaamean?

(C'mon, gimme a break. If we didn't take Dr. Paul seriously, then why have we been virtually the only major blog that's consistently written dozens of items about him and his fascinating followers over the months, even when no one else believed he'd get ANY votes? We know a good story and we've been telling it. Click on his name in the subject cloud to the right here and see for himself. You might even notice he's the only candidate with his own subject category.))

Congratulations, MO Patriots! Your brothers and sisters in Maryland salute you. Missouri has certainly lived up to its nickname - the Show Me state - It showed Missouri "establishment" Republicans ("neocons") and the rest of the US that the r3VOLution has just begun.

Another vote to drop the 'Paulista' crack. We're just people who care about what happens in this country.

(We'll have to work on getting Scott educated, won't we? But he did have the good news sense to spot an important political story to tell, which chances are you won't find being told many other places. Thanks for checking in.)

Well, I'm impressed. These are good American people, playing by the rules...I'm grateful to them!

we got your back here in Colorado Dr. Paul ! I hear Alaska is kicking some neocon butt too ! It's happening from coast to coast. Look for a very interesting year for the republican party!

Few within this country realized just how close this Nation came to economic disaster this past weekend, how close we were to repeating a "bank holiday" decree from the President. Few in this country realize what has happened, what the government and the FED has done to our money, but we are rapidly approaching the end of the Fiat Monetary System.

Of course, Dr. Paul has been warning everyone about what is happening for years, but few listened. Soon, they will clamor to listen to his words as the events in the economy force them to look for real answers and Dr. Paul has those answers. You won't find them in McCain, you won't find them in Obama and you won't find them in Hillary...only Dr. Paul has the knowledge and the understanding of the economic issues we are facing. He knows economic history, and he knows that history is repeating itself once again. Our Fiat Monetary System will end as every single one has ended before in history: in Collapse.

is not amazing that those who know the constitution are the one who know how to get elected and effect change in a national political arena ... go figure ... we don't need the support of the bias media ... better for us if they don't report our revolution til it is too late ... thanks fox news and others ... save your coverage for when we march on washington

from a patriot of the united states of america

we want sarcasm!
we want andrew malcolm!
this country needs more men with two names.

(Now, why would I suspect you have an ulterior motive in this, Sean?)

Yeah, lets talk about the Patriots in the good old Commonwealth of KY! We rocked our conventions as well, pulling the Republican Party back to it's roots. 2nd Amendment rights, limited government, no REAL ID, we even amended their resolutions to give the government no authority to subsidize casinos here. All in all a success, considering we have delegates going to convention, and it happened all over the state!

the reports of the rEVOLution's death have been greatly exaggerated.

Wait until we do this in Utah.

Thank you very much for the nice article. This blog will probably be the only place in the main stream media that this story is told. If I didn't have the Internet, I'd have no clue what was going on.

Why are the ongoing delegate process and party platform changes not considered newsworthy by the media?

It takes a little while to read all the super possitive comments that come in for Dr. Paul. I did it agin and feel, as usual. totally refreshed. There iis no question that Ron Paul will be acclaimed our Presidential winner at convention time by all who vote their consciences instead of their machine and fraud grenerated possitions.

Way to go, Missouri! As a Missouri resident and a Ron Paul supporter who showed up to participate in MO's Buchanan County Caucus, I can assure you that the Republicans in power have been stirred up by the Revolution, and they are angry with our agenda of change. They drummed up enough support beforehand to effectively shut us down before we were able to make our voices heard . . . disqualifying nearly half of the Ron Paul supporters from participating for not being "strong and faithful Republicans" -- the irony being that Paul's supporters are more true to Republican ideals than any of the neocons who currently control the party.

I am inspired and encouraged by the results from Missouri's other counties, and I have faith that the Revolution will continue to make headway across the country. Arm yourselves with knowledge and truth! Show that we ARE the true patriots and are ready to answer our country's desperate call for a Revolution with REAL ACTION!

In defense of the Constitution . . .

Ron Paul has been pushing for an end to this unconstitutional rape of the American dollar since the mid-1970's, and it looks like he is finally being heard by the American people. Now it is time to take action. Education of the people is the key here, so let's get the job done ! Here is a good explanation by Devvy Kidd who writes on constitutional matters.

http://www.devvy.com/notax.html

Another good source for learning what has been tearing this country apart is found in a book, "Web Of Debt" by Ellen Hogdson Brown (2007). You want a woman President ? Hillary is nothing but more of the same garbage of destruction. Take a look at Devvy Kidd and Ellen Hodgson Brown. These two women speak American Patriotic Constitutional English ! Both of them are very aware of Ron Paul's message of Liberty. ALL Americans need to know this ! I am voting for Ron Paul for President in November if I have to write his name onto the ballot ! Any other vote will be wasted on the CFR candidates of deceit. Paulistas is a CFR generated word of disrespect ! WE ARE PATRIOTS !!!!!!!!!!

Ron Paul has been talking about the collapse of the dollar and everyone ignored him.......If he was the nominee, he'd be the only one that could beat Hillary.

Ron Paul is the only one that talks about important issues and does not distract you from reality.

This makes my Day!!!

Who cares what they call us. Andrew, a few weeks back I was telling you about this strategy. We're far from out of the running. We have our country conventions in Texas on the 29th of this month.

(Good point. Keep us posted please.)

Since the days of Ronald Reagan, the Republican Party has been abandoning its traditional conservative/libertarian ideals. Which, I believe, is why so many of its members have been slowly abandoning it over this same period. I've felt deeply concerned by this slow-motion self-destruction. But I'm now delighted to see that some of these liberty-lovin' Republicans, rather than walking away in disgust, are finally making a stand and fighting to take their party back. Kudos to them for doing so.

Your right, thank you for all of the posts that you've afforded to Dr. Paul. Now how about giving him the same exposure in the L.A. Times as the other candidates have ? Why not be the first paper to recognize the Revolution. Why not join us and revolt against your media peers ? Why ? Because you can't. The powers that be won't allow you to. That's ok . The Revolution is only getting stronger as apparent in Missouri. Now if the other States do their part as they state here, look out. The Patriot Party WILL prevail this November. That is, of course, that the "event" that is planned for this summer allows the elections to even take place.

We will never give up,Dr. Ron Paul is the only hope we have, and our numbers keep growing. The Founding Fathers had the right idea,And to stand by and let McCain take us into another four years of the same old stuff,Our Country wont last four more years, if we don't stand up and fight for our rights,The ones Our Founding Fathers gave us,then we might as well stick our heads back in the grass and wait for the Slaughter like good sheep. As for me,I will go down with guns blazing,We had One Revolution over Taxes,And I say it's about time for another one.Sign me up,put me on the front lines,I regret that I have but one life to give for MY COUNTRY.And 1,000,000,000 KUDOS to those DIE HARD Ron Paul Supporters in MO,You guys showed em What For,To all the (Paulistas) lol,you gotta love it.We are finally making enough noise that people are listening,NEVER GIVE UP THE GOOD FIGHT.

You go TEXAS! Round up all the Ron Paul support you can find and get them to your county convertions to vote. That's what we did in Missouri. If you don't have a landslide vote for Constitutional values, don't fret... Educate them to bring them into the light of truth.

Ron Paul supporters are aware of what has taken place in this country. This is not the America the greatest generation worked for and wanted for us. Like them we want our children to have liberty and hope for the future. We want the american dream to be a reality for everyone in this country. Too many of you have sat around for too long doing nothing but shaking your head and complaining instead of actually doing something about it. You've allowed the rich and those who hunger for power..yes the minority..to rape our law and land. Now I hope my children will have the right to vote, speak freely and make a contribution to the world without facists raping them of the liberty God wants for them. You owe us you lazy bastards now wake from your slumber before it's too late!

Scott,
As a supporter of the Constitution and of Ron Paul for President, I would like to personally thank you for reporting on this important story.

Imagine, if you will, that McCain does secure the nomination (God forbid, I pray). Now imagine a pack of delegates so totally disgusted that they walk out of the convention while "Mr. Fake Smiley" is making his speach. Who knows how many of us there will be...20%, 30%, perhaps 40%...all of them walking out while the cameras roll. The Republican party, MY PARTY (I've voted Republican all my life...sadly, even for George Bush) has left its source and foundation...if McCain is the nomonee, we deserve to lose and lose BIG!

Nobody dares deny such immortal words as :¨There's a
sucker born every minute ¨ Especialy Ron Paul and Barak
Obama who share the dubious honor of the most succesfull milking of the naive and credulous.

Yikes. This would be kind of a big story, if Ron Paul ends up with hundreds of votes at the Republican National Convention, and several state Republican parties enact pro-liberty and pro-peace platforms.

From what I've read, the same thing that happened in Missouri is happening in Washington, Nevada, and Texas, and probably a few other states.

So tell me P.T. Barnum, who is the non-sucker candidate?

Answer that question and we will see who the real sucker is. I suspect it is McCain who is such a carnival huckster.

No one can hide the truth about Ron Paul. As Gandhi said "First they will ignore, then they will laugh, then they will fight, then you will win."

Keep up the great work people. our voices will be heard and Ron Paul will make a difference for years to come. thank you Dr. Paul.

Thank you Andrew. Thanks for delivering the news without the snide, backhanded comments. We'll make a journalist out of you yet (just kidding).

(Good to see you back. I can take it. :) )

What is a paulista? Is that like a McInsane?

Wow what "sour grapes". You know, all along Ron Paul has been relegated to the lower tier of the presidential campaign. The mainstream media has always contended that his support was just a lot of internet junkies that would never materialize. Now, when the people that support his answers to the issues actually have become a cohesive, educated, organized group.....WHAT HAPPENS?

They are written off again as being "dishonest" in portraying themselves as regular republicans. When will you folks ever get it? The Ron Paul supporters ARE the real republicans. They are true conservatives. Do some research and go back and see what the basic premise of the republican party is all about. Small government, non intervention, etc.

Why is returning to the basic core values of the GOP, why on why is that such a radical idea? Why should they identify themselves as anything other than true Republicans? In your article you say the one of the executives in the Party is going to check out the list of delegates.....he is sure that some of them are really democrats or libertians????

Oh my God.....somebody call the police!!! We have some folks that may have changed party affiliation and "joined" the Repbulicans. Hey, if they've registered now as Republicans......they are!

Hello?? Why would you not be jumping with joy if you thought you had won some "fed" up democrats over to your party?? Do you not want your party to GROW?

Missouri isn't the only state that will be witnessing this. The Republicans should be rejoicing that so many people are actually willing to jump on board and put some life back into a party that otherwise is going to be just about DOA at the convention. (All of the Republican Presidential Candidates have said this about the Party)

What has the Ron Paul supporter done that the others haven't done? We have done research, gone door to door, made phone calls, talked to friends and neighbors. We have "actually" listened to what people have been saying.

Yes, people are regulated to the fact that "McCain" is the presumptive nominee, but, what we have found out in our research is: They like MOST of Ron Paul's ideas about less government, less entitlements, less everything. The public is acutely aware that our economy is going down the toilet in a "fast" flushing way. You would have to live in a bubble to NOT be aware of what is happening to this country.

My question is this:
What is the Republican Party afraid of when it comes to these "additional Republicans"?

The fight goes on as the headlines play-out like fullfillments of what Dr. Paul has been prophesizing for decades.
As for 'PT Barnum"- some get so used to the circus atmosphere they begin to think it is reality. Please DO identify your choice of candidates.
Send in the clowns, as they say.

Uh, the GOP Convention is in St. Paul, not Minneapolis.

(Good pt. Tha nks.)

Looks like the cats out of the bag, doesn't matter though, because no grass roots movement is as organized and motivated as Ron Paul's on the Republican side this round. We will save this country.

Paul supporters check these out:
very few have seen that Ron Paul has placed Bills HR 2597 and 300 on the
Congressional records. These bills are 100 percent UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Ron Paul
seeks precedent to remove the Supreme Court from validating/denying the
Constitutionality of State Laws. 100 percent UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
what do you think??

America First
Issues Second
Party Third

If we all lived by this then what a great country this could be. It's time to bring the country back to it's roots.

Thanks for the coverage! Compared to other news organizations, you're doing a heck of a job! Also, let's not beat up on Scott over minutia. I've been called a lot of names, but Paulista is about on the low end -- Patriots does have a nice ring, though.

Thanks so much for the informative/positive article. Whether or not Paul wins the nomination, the political activists of the "revolution" he sparked will continue to be involved, and this article captures that essence. Very well done. (minus, of course, the slur "Paulista," but hey, it's easier then saying "Ron Paul supporters.")

We the People; have the right to limited Government, balanced budgets, Privacy in our property, Sovereignty with secure borders and ports, Habeas corpus, No capitation or tax unless in Proportion to the census or enumeration, No War unless declared by Congress, Sound money with it's value set by Congress, Liberty, Representation, the right to bear arms, and Redress of grievance with an answer from Government. We do not have these things, our Constitution is in abstainer. The Constitution is the Governance of this Nation, one cannot just take what suites one in the document, one must take it all in the context of it's embodiment. The majority or our "so called" leadership, first swears to uphold the Constitution, then immediately break there oath, betraying the very people who have entrusted them with the power of office. Willfully they pass legislation which subverts the Constitution, and all the time lining their pockets with corporate money. This is a travesty. However, what makes it worse, is that in a "so called" free marketplace, and free society, one would think one has an impartial, and truthful media. In the land of the truly Free, the Media, would see these injustices and shout it to the top of the roof, but this is no the case here, so we are not truly Free, we have been enslaved. A crime has been committed against the people, perpetuated by a vast majority of the leadership, the Corporations, and the Media, the vast majority of whom will have the guilt to carry with them for the rest of their lives, these are the ones who have allowed this Great Nation to crumble.

I am appalled to see the blatant disregard, from the Media, of a candidate like Ron Paul. When the message he carries is none other then the same message of our founding fathers, Shame on all the Media for propagating this pox upon our land.

At least the LA Post gives Dr. Paul some Media attention, albeit, tongue in check. However I say to the writers, You can have your own opinion in matters of politics, and I can only hope that you open your eyes and see, this is the message of our "Founding Fathers". The Revolution is calling "YOU" to.

Why are the ongoing delegate process and party platform changes not considered newsworthy by the media?

**************************************************************
uhhhhhhhhhhhhh! ... cuz 97% of America's MSM is owned by the same five corporations that own the companies that are supplying and making billions off of the military industrial complex and the banks and will be the very first ones to take the HIT if he gets elected, so why or even how, could we reasonably expect them to report it, much less acknowlege it. YOU'RE GOIN DOWN, FAT CATS !!!!!

Only a third of the delegates? Up here in Whatcom County, Washington we were able to capture over 80% of the delegates being sent on to our state convention.

The Revolution continues!

http://www.bellinghamherald.com/256/story/354067.html

Great Job my fellow patriots! I'm keeping the faith.
RonPaul2008!

No more war! No more McCain!

Way to go! Kudos from Michigan!
Ask me who's my daddy?
RON PAUL!!!!! Gotta love him.
Great going, True Patriots!

AWESOME ARTICLE, SCOTT!
Loved it. Made my day.

Go Ron Go!

Paulistas? A blatant attempt to render his supporters as a cult of some sort.

Are McCain supporters McCainsters? I thought not.

In your response to Tom DeSabla, you insult Ron Paul supporters further by calling us "fascinating followers". That is where you are dead wrong. We are NOT followers.

We are THINKERS and we are SUPPORTERS! We are independent-minded people who actually had to go out and research, read, and learn about our candidate's positions because the media didn't cover him. When we found that Dr. Paul's principles and values were in line with our own, we became supporters. Get it ?!? We SUPPORT Ron Paul for President because he embodies the PRINCIPLES AND VALUES that we hold dear. It is about the message not the man!

We are LEADERS! Leaders of a Revolution to take back our country and restore freedom, peace, and prosperity! The subject of your post, American voters showing up to take control of the election process in Missouri, exemplifies our leadership. We are taking action! We are waking up America up by spreading our message!

I would agree with you, however, that the Revolution is fascinating and deserves more attention/coverage. Our movement, which is actually out MAKING change, is infinitely more fascinating than the Obamazombies (see I can do it too) who are simply fascinated by pretty speeches (and shiny objects?). They are simply hoping and believing that change can somehow miraculously happen. We, on the other hand, are out making change not just talking about it.

Most Obamazombies don't actually know what the "change" they are supporting is since their candidate is full of empty rhetoric. The Revolution is one of substance not just rhetoric .. maybe that is why most of the press can't wrap their tiny minds (oops, another one) around it. All they want to talk about is today's poll numbers and the current cat fight.

The current handlers of the Republican Party have stolen the Party from the people and are trying to shove their nonsense down the throats of the American public. Ron Paul supporters have a right and a duty to take back their Country for their fellow Americans.

Bellinghammer - In Mo they have 1/3 of the total number of allowed delegates on the few big counties that have SO far been reported. Expect there to be more.

Cainheads lose at local level. I will tell you the caucus I attended had more Ron Paul supporters then McCain most of the base supporters had voted for Romney. We weren't able to get anything done they wouldn't even take the time to listen to our party platform ideas. Conservative Voters League is on Ron's side. In plate county they were afraid too but some of the insiders stood up and told em hey lets at least listen to what they have to say. Turns out they liked it and voted the amendments in. This is a truly a compassionate conservative movement. I have been a Lib for a while but would love for the GOP to take us back in to their fold, rather than cringing in fear of their own beliefs.

If you insist on the "paulistas" slur, then please refer to presumptive nominee's supporters as "McWaristas". Thank you.

First thing first!
"THE FEDERAL RESERVE SHOULD BE ABOLISHED"
In Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution, the people of the United States granted Congress the power "to coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures.” The people never gave congress the constitutional power to delegate this money-creating and regulating responsibility to any private group. Yet this is exactly what the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 did. The bill was publicly promoted as a plan to reform the nation's monetary system and stabilize the currency by taking control of it out of the hands of big bankers. In reality, of course, the Federal Reserve Act was written by the big bankers for the purpose of solidifying their control over our currency. U.S. money, with full control over its quantity and thus its value. Since this group of private bankers (the Fed) provides credit to the U.S. government when we spend money we don’t have, the Fed also is able to profit handsomely from the ever-increasing national debt. Because the Fed makes more money when the country goes deeper into debt, there is no incentive for the Fed to support any reductions in federal deficit spending. The more credit we need, the more money this cartel of private banks will make.
Many Americans today wrongfully believe that the Federal Reserve is somehow part of the federal government, possibly even the Treasury Department. Many do not know that the Federal Reserve is actually a cartel of private banks that was given the power to be the sole issuer of

The actions the Fed takes can drastically affect the economy simply by making decisions about the money supply and interest rates. The president, congress, big business, investors, home buyers and anyone else with an interest in our economy waits with baited breath every time the Federal Reserve Board meets. If they decide to raise interest rates, politicians and industries could fall, homes might not be purchased and jobs could be lost. If the Fed decides to lower the interest rates, politicians, industries, investors and consumers may prosper. There is too much power vested in a handful of people whose names would not be recognized by most Americans.

Why do we allow such a small group of people on the Federal Reserve Board to wield so much power over our country’s economic well-being? As average Americans strive to earn a living, cope with rising costs of food, fuel and hopefully save or invest for the future, Congress and the Federal Reserve Bank are working insidiously against them. On a daily basis, every dollar they have is being devalued.

Even though most Americans seem unaware of the current plight of the US dollar, especially in relation to the Euro, there is definitely a dollar crisis in the world economy because of the immense size of the international debt of America. America has now become the largest debtor in history, owing somewhere between $70 and $100 Trillion. The reckless deficit spending by our government, coupled with Federal Reserve currency devaluation, has become one of the greatest threats facing America today. Because Congress is routinely spending more than it can tax or borrow and the Fed is routinely printing “Fiat Money” (Dollars backed by nothing) out of thin air to make up the difference, this classic “one-two punch” threatens to further destroy the value of our dollars.

The actions of both major political parties would seem to indicate that they want the Fed to print more “Fiat Money” to support their extravagant and unchecked spending habits. Most politicians want the printing presses to run faster and faster, create more credit, issue rebate checks, etc., so that the economy will somehow be magically healed by this dangerous financial potion, or so they believe. The President and members of Congress may love a system that generates more and more money for their special interest projects and earmarks, but the rest of us have good reason to be concerned about our monetary system and the future value of our American dollars.

Issuing “Fiat Money” has allowed our government to live well beyond its means, but that practice cannot continue much longer as it is slowly destroying the value of our dollars. History shows us that when the destruction of monetary value becomes rampant, as the actions of our congress and the Fed would indicate, nearly everyone suffers and both the economic and political structure becomes unstable. The Federal Reserve System has been the tool used by the major bankers to allow them to gain control over the smaller regional and local banks. The Fed has also acted as the financing agency for Congress' unprecedented deficit spending on an ever growing, more intrusive federal bureaucracy and the expansion of the welfare state. Some people believe that the private bankers in the Federal Reserve wield so much power that they can intentionally manipulate the economy in order to influence the results of our presidential elections.

Our government and the American people do not need the help of any private banking cartel to manage our monetary system. We need to repeal the Federal Reserve Act and return control of our currency to Congress where it belongs, as was the intent of our Founders. We also need to have a serious national discussion about how real currency reform can be achieved. As long as the private bankers in the Federal Reserve have control over our nation's money, Congress' control of the purse-strings will not have the benefits the country’s Founders intended.

I support legislation introduced by Congressman Ron Paul, of Texas, entitled “Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act (H.R. 2755) that will restore financial stability to America's economy by abolishing the Federal Reserve.

It's still amazing to me how republicans just "choose" to ignore reality. I know they're not stupid people so it must be a conscience choice in order to "fit in" some how or feel wanted. RP supports doing away with income taxes! Who wouldn't like to keep 100% of the money they earned? I know I would. I think I'm better able to decide how to spend that money to benefit me than the gov. As parents who doesn't want their kids home from a meaningless foreign war that we started? I know I would. Who wouldn't want the dollar to regain it's strength so we can afford a gallon of gas, college for our kids, retirement etc... As an economist I can tell you that RP is right on with his monetary policy. High School economics really. Who wouldn't want to get rid of the federal agencies like the dept. of education that costs $71 billion a year and didn't even exist until 1981! We managed just fine w/o it until then. How about the CIA and NSA each with billion dollar budgets and which still couldn't prevent 9/11 and was 100% wrong about WMD in Iraq. Pathetic. Who in their right mind wouldn't want these things? Maybe that's the problem. Republicans are out of their minds.

The problems we face today,
stem from misuse of power,
based on vested self-interests,
resulting in a failure to follow the rules.

and I saw it first hand at my Caucus

Tears of pride well in this war veterans eyes to find that he is not alone with a concern for our CONSTITUTION. Thank you for printing this article and providing this platform. When I read it I was inspired to go to PAUL'S campaign and contribute, I hope many others will join me.

I thought nobody cared anymore but now I see that is untrue.
Between COMMUNISM and FASCISM our nation has stood for FREEDOM and LIBERTY.
Against TOTALITARIANISM we have stood.
NOW we have a chance to defend it here...THE WAR FOR LIBERTY IS NOW...IN THE STREETS OF AMERICA...Thank goodness this is a metaphorical war but it is not a metaphorical fight. WE HAVE TO STAND NOW!!!!

THANK YOU RON PAUL!!!
THANK YOU PATRIOTS!!!

THOSE WHO WANT TO TRADE LIBERTY FOR SECURITY GO GET YOUR OWN COUNTRY WE ALREADY HAVE THIS ONE AND WILL CONTINUE TO FIGHT YOU TO DEFEND IT!

Thank you.

Nice article. There are many patriots in South Carolina who support you, Dr. Paul.

Ron Paul 2008!

Ron Paul supporters - let's not be so sensitive about the Paulista term. We do not want to appear to be thin-skinned complainers, taking offense at every perceived slight. That will not help us connect with the average voter. We are not whiners. I object to the term "Paultard", as it is intentionally insulting, but "Paulista" is not so bad. No worse than McCainiac or Fred Head or whatever.

I support Dr. Paul because he supports me.

Reporting from the Missouri Ozarks. Many of my surrounding counties took all of their delegates and alternates for Ron Paul. We didn't do quite as well in my county but we just didn't have the numbers. I will be there as a delegate at both the District and State Conventions and can't wait to meet my fellow patriots.

Those of us who live in the Ozarks are sick and tired of having our civil liberties being threatened or taken away from us. We are hard-working, self-sufficient, freedom-loving individuals who just want the Government to let us live our lives in peace and take care of ourselves. We don't need, or want, the Government to take care of us from cradle to grave.

Rise up, freedom lovers, and take back your country!

When employees give a low approval level of performance and do what they want to instead of satisfaction and job approval, they get fired. Our government has been acting like we work for them. My hat is off to the revolution that Ron Paul started, and core Republican values he shows respect for...

Show me another politician who seeks to reduce the power of the office he's running for, and I'll vote for him, too.

Ron Paul and I don't agree on every issue, but I know from his voting record that I can trust him.

This is only the beginning.

It is a train called Revolution...chugging, chugging, and building up steam. We shall continue to fuel the fire and pick up speed, build momentum, so when we come 'round the bend, heading north to Minnesota, America will see a fully charged head of steam pouring from this powerful locomotive! Listen to our whistle blowing a sound so sweet & clear that all of America will hear her call "Give me Liberty! We, the people, have come to defend our Republic!"

This train called Revolution, singing the sweet song of Freedom & Liberty with our engineer at the helm, keeping her tight to the track with his strong, steady, unwavering eye. Please accept our undying gratitude Dr. Paul! Thank you for taking that heavy wheel to steer us and pulling that Liberty whistle. You have awakened us from our slumber! With all we know & all we dream, this Revolution can take America back!

Give me Liberty or give me death!

ron paul's bill introduced in the house of representatives for several years, 'to provide that human life shall be deemed to exist from conception,' is not unconstitutional, but actually a cornerstone of the constitution;
regardless of how anyone might personally feel about the issue, the concept of inalienable human rights, not granted by a government or person, but as intrinsical, unique and universal human values that come with human life itself and cannot be seperated from it, or taken away from anyone, depends on the acceptance of the premise that the beginning of human life is not and cannot be subject to arbitrary determination. the pitfall of the socialist agenda trying to disown and enslave all human beings, is to get people to relegate to a government authority the right to give or take away their life and liberties, by making them believe it empowers them, or gives them freedom.

Thank God real elections can't be spammed like internet polls and message boards can. I dread the day when the Ron Paulbot cult becomes strong enough to actually influence an election with their paranoid, racist, John-Birch-Society-conspiracy-nutjob candidate. I've yet to see a Ron Paulbot who can stop mindlessly spouting platitudes about the Constitution and liberty long enough to demonstrate a basic understanding of foreign policy (anyone who thinks isolationism/non-interventionism on the part of the world superpower is a good idea and who thinks the UN is part of some one-world government conspiracy is a stark raving loon), economics, or any other topic that they rant and rave about using various conspiracist sound bytes.

But hey, any candidate who's good enough for creeps like Alex Jones and Don Black is good enough for America, right?... right?!?

Hooray! The Revolution Lives!

Let the Ron Paul revolution continue!

From the ashes we will rise.. When the communist socialist agenda fails then our cause WILL be heard..

People like this Kyle guy 3 posts above me make me sick! Paul doesn't have a racist Bone in his body.. He sees all people as individuals with equal rights.. The John Birch society is not rascist, they infiltrated the KKK back in the day and got their butts busted.. They stand for freedom the american way and against communism, which is great because communism killed over 20 million people in the last decade or so.. and it doesn't work.. Call prepared, paranoid it you want.. The signs are all around us Ron Paul was right..

Do you wear you seat belt? Well you must be paranoid!

This country was founded on non-interventionism.. the term Isolationist was made up by the warmongers in the begining of the world war.. they wanted to get involved and make the tradiditonal Americans seem bad..

I will say this only once.. our country was made the greatest nation in the world during the first 175 years.. On our founding principals and liberty.. Now in the last hundred years it has been destroyed.. accelerated even further in the last 10 years.

They are plannign a NAU and whether you want to accept it or not, our national sovernity is under massive threat... once this economy is done they will offer it as a solution... a solution to the problem that they created.. and will give rise to a single world governance.. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.. someone bad gets control of that and we are screwed..

World Domination is not American!
Pre-emptive war is not American..

Project Sunshine: Putting a few grey clouds over John McCain's camp. (more info to come)

This goes to show that the REVOLUTION is growing!!!! The American people are taking back their voice and getting smart in their tactics! What the MSM doesn't realize is that revolutions don't usually involve the majority, but that non-majority always makes BIG movement! We're making waves in this country! Power to the people! VIVA LA REVOLUTION!!! Let's take back our AMERICAN DREAM!!!!

Keep up the good work Ron Paul supporters!!

I have been a fan of Ron Paul ever since I heard his speech in front of Congress. I had to save it because I never wanted to lose it. Much later he started to run for President of our country. I wince when I think of voting for anyone else. No other candidate even compares. Ron is not just a campaign - he is a revolution! He is the only candidate from whose voice comes my own thoughts and I will be danged before I vote for anyone else. As a matter of fact, I would have totally given up on the process if not for him - he is the reason I still have hope for this country!

All for Ron & Ron for All!

You can call me Paulista all you want. This Paulista man will always support this Revolution!!!

And I hope it does go to the history books that show that the Paulista's came and conquered and took our country back!

George Washington did it with 10% Ron Paul can too!

Paulista = Female Paul supporter
Paulisto = Male Paul supporter

The republican party seems concerned about democrats and libertarians crossing over for Ron Paul. I seem to remember that it was that it was these very same cross over voters that gave us Ronald Reagan. For those of you who don't remember, Ronald Reagan was the name that all of the republican candidates tried to invoke as many times as possible in every debate.

As for me and my house, Senator Ron Paul has our vote! I wasn't even going to vote this year because of the horrendous choices...Obama, Clinton, McCain (you gotta be kidding me!) ...they all sleep in the same bed. Until I researched Mr. Paul. He's the only one that makes any sense!! VOTE RON PAUL 2008!!

Don FrederickDon Frederick has served as an editor helping guide coverage of every presidential election since 1984. He is a third-generation Washingtonian, so watching the political world comes naturally to him.

A graduate of Northwestern University, he was a reporter for newspapers in Colorado, New Mexico and Texas before joining the (now-defunct) Los Angeles Herald Examiner in 1983. Hired by The Times in 1989, he has worked in its Washington bureau since 1996 — a perch providing him a close-up view of the impeachment of President Clinton, the government's response to 9/11 and the day-to-day wrangling of the two major parties.
Andrew MalcolmAndrew Malcolm's immigrant parents repeatedly stressed the importance of active participation in a democracy. Early lessons included learning the alphabetical list of states by watching televised roll calls of national political conventions. That childhood exposure led to a lifelong fascination with politics, including 40-plus years of covering them and a brief stint practicing them as press secretary to Laura Bush in 1999-2000.

A veteran foreign and national correspondent, Malcolm served on the Times Editorial Board and was a Pulitzer finalist in 2004. He is the author of 10 nonfiction books and father of four.
