Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and the ol' buzz-o-meter

The folks over at techPresident plugged Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton into a Google trend-search tool and came up with an intriguing  find: a significant spike in interest in Clinton among Pennsylvania Web-browsers.

Getting in touch with our inner copycat, we did the same thing but checked for Ohio, which is pretty interesting given the results Tuesday. Then we did it for all subregions. There are all sorts of ways to read the charts this tool spits out, but one thing is clear -- there's a whole lot of movement going on out there.

If the goal is to make America better, I understand why people are afraid to believe in Obama. But what I dont understand is how people can support Clinton who is so two-faced as to support the opposing team.

Why is she praising someone who cares nothing for her beloved healthcare? Because she doesn't really care. She just wants to get in the White House again. Her campaign is short-sighted and destructive, believing they can use these tactics to beat Obama without realizing they are in effect handing McCain (aka Bush III) the tools to dismember the Democratic Party in November.

More importantly she has proven one thing. She's power hungry and will do anything to get back into the White House. If she truly values the ideas she has put forth, she is doing herself a disservice by touting her own lack of integrity.

Pennsylvanians need to use search information better than Ohioans.

No matter Obama spending Millions in advertising and did some public speaking, been in the newspaper and on their local TV, a couple of voters reportedly used that fake rumor of Obama not Pledging Allegiance and he wouldn't use a Bible taking Oath of office.

They voted for Hillary.

Three different Ohio folks mentioned the same thing. Ohioans complaining and affected by NAFTA, voted for the leadership and champions of that trade policy, Hillary and Bill.

Let's hope Pennsylvania punishes those who created failed political and social policies. Life wasn't good in the 90's if the job then is gone now due to outsourcing.

The media may say Pennsylvania is like Ohio, but folks don't have to act the same way. I don't value my neighboring states voting patterns.

It's interesting, I hadn't actually gone to Google and searched each candidates' name directly without other search terms, until I read this article. The results are surprising both with regard to their consistency -- Wikipedia pages for both candidates are in the top 5 both times -- and their differences; all the Barack Obama entries on the first page of results were neutral or positive, while many of the Hillary Clinton results were actually anti-Clinton in sentiment.

Good! Google Clinton! But don't stop at her webpage, take notice that many polls indicate 48% of the nation already disapproves of her. Notice that she does worse in a hypothetical match up with John McCain. And notice that most experts say she is the only person that can turn out the Republican base for John McCain. For god's sake, after 2000 and 2004 wake up! Don't snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Vote Obama, his appeal across the lines is a winning ticket.

I hope that the media picks up its coverage of Sen. Obama. The more I see and hear of him the more I am convinced that He IS the American that can get the job done ... across party lines, ideaolgy line, Sen and congress. He may not ultimatly unite the parties but He will listen, be listened to and work toward results. Devisivness, combativeness and attacking of your/our fellow Americans does not lead to co-operation ... only greater resistence. Presidents LEAD ... and in America ... only the willing follow! The Presidency is not a tug of war but a melding of the various ideas, thoughts, concerns and issues ... after all ... each of us is important and the idea of "My way or the highway" does not sit well with Americans past or present. Remember the Revolution, the Civil War, WW1 and WW11, Viet Nam, Iraq ... we do respond well to tyrents or tyrannical ways. Our govt is based on the notion of "For the People, by the People and Of the People" ... that means govt can not leave out the People in its governing of the People. I t take people and willing people in my 54 years of experience get more done!

It really does amaze me that people atcually support Hillary over Obama with all of her negatives but the problem with most voters is they really don't don't take time you and I do to really understand who and what they are voting for. I think this explains the bad choces we have made in the past and will continue to do so, Until the millions of new generation now registering and following the issues as we are.
The issue of race and gender continues to play a major eole among the type of voters who live in many of the rural areas of Ohio and they are trying to make the same case in Penn. I just hope that Rendel is wrong about his take on the situation in Penn. because both Hill and Bill are experts on -playing both race and gendar cards well.

What do we know about Barack Obama? He is a newcomer to Washington, still learning the ropes on how to be a Senator. Hillary Clinton has spent 8 years in the White House and participated in international politics. (8 years of peace, prosperity, and a balanced budget for the first time in American history for those of you who just like to nag all day) People love to hate her, in part because of resentment over former President Clinton's infidelities. Yet, Hillary Clinton is the only Democratic candidate who has the experience to do the job and if she doesn't, she can ask Bill for advice. What could be better than that? To hell with training wheels. Revote or seat the delegates from Florida and Michigan and we will all soon know who has the people's mandate. Regardless of the outcome, this year's election is history in the making. It is my deepest hope that history records the Clintons returning to Washington to heal our broken and deeply divided nation.

America please vote Obama. He is for real and he has vision for America. He has a dream to make better America the greatest country in the world. I am a Canadian and honestly outsider looking inside we see some pictures that shows that this man here is for real. He has run an honest clean campaign. It seems like even if he loses he will not run negative campaign. He would have won OHIO if it wasn't for that distorted information about NAFTA. There is some article in the Toronto sun and some other news media in Canada that in fact it was Hillary's campaign that was talking to Canadian Officials about Nafta., not Obama's. It seems like Hillary's campaign had a set up to trap Obama in someway and smear him for something that he wasn't accountable for. Dirty politics is that we want in America??? what example do we set for our younger generation... we need someone who truly believes in America and it's needs......

His ex-advisor resigned afterClinton called for Obama to fire her for saying she is a monster.

China is financing Clinton's campaign. It all comes from Chinese government officials and Chinese corporations, including CP, which used to finance Bill Clinton's campaigns and Hillary Clinton's senate campaign. Jack Nicholson owed the Chinese a favor I guess.

Her power does not come from the American people. Her campaign contributions should be scrutinized now, not in 5 or 10 years.

Her power is immense. With Bill Clinton and the Chinese govt behind her candidacy, how can Obama win?

She is really lying about him and no one in the media is questioning what she says. They only repeat it, over and over, as though it should be taken as fact, not slanderous gossip.

She will do anything to win. Obama is crazy to go up against her. Americans won't stand up to her and the Clinton machine. They gave up to the pressure in Ohio, and they will do it in PA. And in Michigan and Florida.

Obama is the only chance democrats have. If Clinton wins the candidacy, I predict McCaine will be the next president.

Mr. LeBoeuf:
People don't love to hate her because of Bill's infidelities. They dislike her tactics and negativity. She plays the game of politics so well, she has poisoned people's opinion of her. Also, Obama can just ask Bill too, if you think about it. As a former president, his counsel would be sought out and welcome. Also, the 90s were wonderful because of technological breakthroughs. Our broken and divided nation can be found to be partially Mrs. Clinton's fault: NAFTA, No Child Left Behind, Iraq war (the first she touted as wonderful as First Lady and the last two she voted for). Rationalize her decision all you want, but she shouldn't support or vote for something one day and then make ridiculous excuses the next. And before you mention Obama's mis-voting when he was in the Illinois senate, just remember, people didn't DIE as a result of his votes.

I shudder to think of Bill Clinton as co-president.

OK, Obama supporters just need to take a deep breath...
Breath In, Breath Out...

Now just consider what could the worst possible outcome of the Race for the Nomination be? Yes, Hillary takes it at the Convention in Denver....

Alright Now, what could you all do to make
IT worse? Of course, Stomp out of the Convention and swear never to vote for Hillary in the General election....

Now, ask yourself do you really think Obama would want his supporters to enable John McCain to win the election for the Republicans simply because he lost a good fight with the Clintons? And don't you all realize that unless he wants to permantely leave Washington for Hollywood (To start the 'Oprah And Obama Comedy Hour'?) Obama will ask his crew to Support Hillary if she wins the Nomination in the end....

Can We as a Party right NOW stop the juvinile name calling and COOL lIT with the school yard antics and threats; And instead pledge to support WHOEVER wins the Democratic nomination. ...

Or do we perfer to continue to hear the snickers and cat calls from the Republicans about a party who simply can't take YES for an answer and can not act mature enough to be trusted to run a country?......

Thank you Birddog08. Finally a voice of reason. Let all Dems pledge that whether Clinton wins or Obama wins, John McCain will not win! All Dems must unite on this or we'll have at least 4 more years of Republican mismanagement to deal with and who knows how long of consequences to follow. I do wish that both candidates would stop the fighting, stick to their platforms, stop the negativity and concentrate on uniting the party and defeating McCain. Both Clinton and Obama owe it to this country to put it and its future well being ahead of personal ambition.

Pearl,

>I shudder to think of Bill Clinton as co-president.

I'm with you on that!

Bill has an undefined future role. His influence on White House legislation stifles a Vice President. If he's given a job at the UN or State Department, that stifles job progression for lawyers, ex legislators and former governors.

If he's Ambassador of America, whatever that is, he'll need staff and handlers expanding costs and procedures in the White House.

People on his staff maybe accessible to corporate lobbyists or they get power hungry trying to influence other Federal agencies.

Bill is not going to be First Lad, doing traditional First Lady type of duties.

I'll think something is wrong with this country if we go Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton.

I can't vote for McCain. This complicated primary process between Obama and the Clinton's will hurt many feelings.

Hillary has to silence her desire for superdelegates to interfere. Let the vote happen in each state and the DNC does something about Michigan and Florida.

Those states need to re-vote, who pays for it?

I can't forecast that far to the Convention, we just have to watch the votes happen and hope one candidate starts to win more than the other.

Let’s talk about Hillary Clinton’s tactics over the past couple of weeks.

First of all, her main argument for why she is more qualified than Obama is that she has more experience than he does. I guess she believes that being married to a president makes you qualified to be one because she doesn’t really have much experience in any position other than First Lady; if that makes you qualified to run the country than I guess her argument holds true.

Second, Hillary had slammed Obama for his supposed contact with Canada to reassure the Canadian Government that he did not really dislike NAFTA; he was just saying he did for political gain in the presidential race and he would then go back to supporting NAFTA after the election.
Then we come to find out it was ACTUALLY HILLARY CLINTON who had contacted the Canadian government to ensure them that she would not change the trade deals the US has with Canada but she needed to be critical of NAFTA for the short run because her opponent had been making headway by not supporting NAFTA in REAL POLICY.

Third, Clinton blasted Obama for his implied connection to Rezno, who has been investigated for fraud and Hillary has cried corruption and lamented about ethics.
HELLO…DOES ANYONE REMEMBER A LITTLE THING CALLED WHITEWATER!!
Hillary crying over anyone being unethical or corrupted is completely absurd and ridiculously HIPICRITICAL …she wants to take credit for everything that happened when her Husband was in the Whitehouse but she thinks she does not have to answer for all the Corruption that occurred while she was there?

Fourth, Only after her win in Ohio did she start stating “(a joint ticket) may be the direction this is going in but the question is who is gong to be on top, and I think the people of Ohio have stated very clearly that it should be me”
Yea…and the people in the last TWELVE states in a row have Clearly stated it should be Obama!!~!
Thanks for trying to stifle and undermine the voice of the people Hillary...

Fifth, All of a sudden Hillary is very adamant that the Florida and Michigan votes be counted, when she had no problem with the delegates being held out before…Only when she has finally won a state or two does she have such an interest in these states. By the way Obama was not even on the ballet in Michigan …that is Hillary’s idea of a fair election…when she is the only person on the ballot!!!!!

If you are going to talk about experience I guess Hillary does have more experience…In smear campaigns…scare tactics…irrational arguments…and attempting to censor people when they disagree with her!!!!!

OBAMA 08

C’mon guys, we have already won OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA “…….We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek…….” This was Barack’s super Tuesday theme line and we should never doubt it.
I am 52 yrs old and travels all over the world given the nature of my job. What I have seen all over is this : Right now as we speak, and for the past several months, lives are already undergoing positive transformation all over the world as a result of the inspiration that Barack Obama is bringing, not only to America, but to the entire world. There is electricity in the air and a new beam of light is shinning on the planet. All over the world, people of all ethnic backgrounds, races, colors and religion suddenly and simply seem to be much happier with them selves just because of Obama. The US democratic process this year is up-lifting the world much more than ever before just because of Obama. He is putting in a fresh drop of faith, hope, togetherness and humility and that is having a ripple effect worldwide and this, fundamentally would ultimately work towards world peace. In the current world chaos, Obama, a people’s man, has the communication skills and charisma required to properly handle World Leaders – then imagine the positive impact that would have on world economy and trade. “Obamania” alone, is making these RESOUNDING CALLS, and that is why it is receiving a RESOUNDING YES from even outside America. At the same time, the Clinton premise on the so-called "experience" issue, as they define it, is receiving a RESOUNDING NO.
FIRST of all, if Hillary makes it to the White House, her Vice President risks facing the nightmare sometimes of determining who really were President – Hillary or Bill. Bill’s attitude seems to be showing that already. We used to have a lot of respect for him in this part of the world.
SECONDLY, Hillary should realize that, in comparison with Barack, most of the world leaders she’s had the chance of meeting during some of her travels abroad have been more concerned on being “polite” to a former 1st Lady rather than being factual with her on real issues and promises.
THIRDLY, regarding her premise on “experience”, it seems to us that some very very experienced people have plunged America into a rather sad State of the Union and Strain Diplomacy. Barack Obama, alone, seems to have a different strategy based on good judgment and his ability to RELATE with people for a change of MINDSET.
FINALLY, the ENTIRE WORLD is crying out for DIALOGUE with America and a new American Leadership owes that to WORLD CITIZENS even those leaving under the worst forms of dictatorships always often not of their making. Obama alone seems to understand that most of these Dictators with “Armed Regimes” are basically cowards and always often do not have the least support of even their own people.
