Questioner calls Bush 'the bastard,' Hillary Clinton smiles

Over the weekend there was an as yet little-noticed incident in Bridgeton, Mo., just outside St. Louis. Sen. Hillary Clinton addressed a town hall meeting there and was taking questions from the audience.

One elderly woman rose and was asking the Democratic candidate about a rumored economic union among the United States, Canada and Mexico that is widely discussed, feared and abhorred among conspiracy fanciers. The woman said the president planned to implement the secret agreement in 2010.

Then the woman called the president "Bush the bastard."

The Democratic crowd immediately roared its approval.

Sen. Clinton nodded her head slightly and smiled.

Then, she proceeded to ...

answer the question, saying "there's not a lot of truth to it." Our colleagues over at the Swamp have posted Glenn Thrush's detailed account of the incident, which you can read here.

It'll be interesting to see if Clinton's silent assent to that crude comment arouses as much criticism and controversy as last year when a Republican woman in South Carolina asked Sen. John McCain about Clinton, calling her "the bitch."

At the time, CNN showed a video clip of the incident and strongly criticized McCain for not admonishing the woman, although the candidate did say belatedly that he respected the New York senator.

Who cares? I support Barack Obama, and I would love for Senator Clinton to make a mistake, but his ain't it. If an elderly woman says Bush is a bastard, that is amusing. Stop being a pansy, get a thicker skin, and offer something intelligent to the discourse.

Vote for Osama.
So that I can become the president.

Vote for Osama, Long live Osama bin laden

Calling the President of the US names is classless... typical of the intellectually weak cowards from MO...

Anyone can think what they want, of President Bush. But there is no doubt in my mind that even if a Democrat had been in the White House when 9/11 went down, then that President would have done EXACTLY what Bush did. Every country's intelligence agencies, along with the CIA's 'proof' and blessing, would have been enough proof to wage this war. Our country wanted a response to 9/11, and the ever poll driven Democratic President would have provided the exact response that Bush gave.
Then the situation would be exactly the reverse with the Republicans excoriating the Democratic President, also in hindsight. Though I also believe that the liberal press would have given their support to that Democratic president, unlike how they've treated Bush. All for political gain, and NO other reason.
But nevertheless, a Democratic President WOULD have waged the same war. The only difference being, the Democratic president WOULD have caved in and pulled out by now, greatly increasing the danger to, not only the United States, but the world as well.

It is a fact that Republicans are held to a higher standard than the Democrats. This is as it should be because Republicans hold higher standards. Second, I'm sure CNN was just trying to make sure Bill Clinton's wife was not insulted as she tends to break out in tears when pressured or otherwise criticized. Finally, what happened to free speech. I never voted to repeal the 1st amendment. Hey, anyone notice Bill Clinton's wife seems to war the same yellow outfit everywhere. Seems to match the cut-and-run colors characteristic of the dems.

This is just more of the same anti-Clinton rants that Mr. Malcolm relishes in, whether true or not. How can anyone take him seriously? Time to join the Jerry Springer show.

Bastard! Probably inaccurate, but so what. I can think of many words to more accurately describe the man and they would be far more offensive to the delicate Republican ears. Crook, comes to mind. Liar too, among others not suitable for public consumption.

So, one liberal Senator plants an audience member to use the B-Word and another liberal Senator uses an audience plant to drop the other B-Word. Neither Senator showed any class, by not admonishing the misbehavior of the offensive audience member. I prefer respectful, qualified, honest candidates, who discuss the key issues facing our nation, and who propose clear, viable solutions, over mob-leaders.

AFTER READING THESE BLOGS, I KNOW WHY I DON'T LIVE IN CALIFORNIA WITH ALL YOU DESPARATE WHINERS.
1) CLINTON HAS THE BEST IDEA TO START HEALTH CARE COVERAGE
FOR ALL CITIZENS AND IT WILL BE SHAPED BY NEGOTIATON.
2) OBAMA IS ARROGANT.
3) OBAMA SMOKES. IF HE DOESN'T RESPECT HIMSELF, HOW WILL HE
RESPECT THE REST OF US?

To all of those who have commented and think it is ok to call Bush a name but not Hillary you are a bunch of hypocrites. To say that one word is sexist and the other is not is ridiculous. I think it is childish at best to engage in the name calling. Obviously, there are people on both sides of the aisle that need to grow up, but defending the mudslinging puts you right in the middle of it.

The apostle Paul said it best in Galatians 5
"If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other."

Our country is being destroyed from the inside out because of this kind of behavior. Selfish. Immature. Hateful.

The so called Washington establishment is run by career politicians. And that includes Obama and Clinton.
To think that Obama is an agent of change is ludicrous.

To change anything in Washington is to impose Congressional limits on time served. To return the Government back to ordinary folks who work for a living as the Framers intended.

Bush may be call a Bastard, but at least he didn’t have oral sex in the white house like Hillary husband did, I think about it every time I see her strutting her stuff on the stage, I would love to ask her how she felt about being married to the president who done it with a page, aid or what ever she was called. She don’t have my vote at the present time and she may not get if she get the fall from her party she has let to many thing slide with out standing up on her two feet and tell the American people just what she is for and against

this nation's citizens have come to naming president's as bastard's - (fatherless son's) and candidates as bitches which is simply a female dog or chronic female grip . perhaps China should be the next world power perhaps they have more repsect for their people.

Hate is what the Democrats are about. The hate will continue until this country is on coarse towards their socialist Utopia. Hillary, Obama, McCain are the three drivers whom will take us to eurosocialism.

The old hag probably did not even know she had been wheeled out of the rest home. Who gives a crap what she thinks. She will taking a dirt nap before the elections are complete. She is lucky that she is getting her social security check. She is just a taker at this point in her life. She is a non player.

It is funny..the media is crowning obama...twi years of experience..they are only doing it for ratings...if they made a reality check on what he has done as a junior senator...would be zero..then he is to run the country...the only way he can run it is to so YES to everyone that supported him

Typical, if it had been a republican calling Hillary or Obama a slur it would be a banner headline.

Democrats are simply small bitter people who want others to do the heavy lifting.

what goes on with addressing or nodding in agreement in calling our president "bastard" bitch ?
I was Hillary supporter until saw this. perhaps CHINA has more respect for their rulers and for their women. definition of bitch is female dog or chronic grip and she is not a dog. DIXIE CHICK was distanced for less than this.

Hey all you sheep. Hillary wasn't the one to call Bush a bastard, yet it's somehow her fault? Please... Think for yourself and stop drinking the Kool-Aid. Haven't the last 8 years given you any kind of insight? .............. Any insight at all? ...........ANY?

It's amazing how ruthless and mean-spirited many people are. How can you have such bitter hatred for a person most of you don't even know? Your hearts are not right. It matters not who you want to be our next President, the Lord has already appointed a person to be President of the United States.

How can this country be united when there is so much division between both sides. If it's a matter of the American dream, why is there not more unity, helping each one achieve regardless who he or she may be. Put aside your hatred and party affiliation for just a little while.

Consider this, "can't we all just get along." Rodney King. This man may not be a model citizen, but his humble and shaky voice can make a difference in every American city.

We must come together before disaster forces us to unite in love of our President, our country, and our fellow American sisters and brothers. Let there be peace between us. There should be no such thing as republican, democrat, or independent. We are a unique country with a lot of unique pride. Being an American brings out the best in all of us. "

I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free." Lee Greenwood.
We are Americans first.
If we, as American citizens, come together as a people, our country and our future will be rewarding.

Of course there WERE WMD (chemical weapons) in Iraq. We had statements from people who had defected. We had evidence he'd used them on his opposition and against Iran. Realize this, people, our countray also KNOWS where they went...

It is easier to say "We didn't find any in Iraq" (which is NOT true because we did recover and destroy chemical armaments there) than to point fingers at other countries in the Gulf Region right now. Our goal is to prevent any of these dangerous chemical/biological arms from reaching terrorists.

And to everyone who thinks President Bush is a war criminal... Are you all really that deranged? State-sponsored Islamic terrorism is THE major challenge of our lives. Not global warming. Not saving trees. Not Republican-Democrat squabbles over the Federal budget. Terrorists celebrate the death of ANY American, regardless of party affiliation. Please keep that in mind the next time your left-wired brain begins tofire up another "Bush Derangement Syndrome" comment.

Wow...I have never seen so much hatred on a website in my life. One comment basically called black people monkey's. The majority of the comments are mad because an old lady called BUSH a bastard. What the hell does that have to do with Hillary? The republicans are just making the race so much more easier. The republicans have F-up so bad either an African American will be president or a Women. Thank you very much Republicans for this land slide for the Dems to the White House in 09. Instead of worrying about Hillary, why don't you republicans talk about some of the fags you have in your party. Have a fucked up Republican day!!!!!! MUAH

Hillary, Hillary, Hillary,...
You are getting deeper and deeper in the hole with the voters !

Bill, Bill, Bill,
You are getting deeper and deeper in the hole with the voters !

Hmmm? Why does that "cliche" sound different when its addressed to Bill?

Having been born out of wedlock, and a member of The Bastards Association, I wholeheartedly object to Bush being called a "bastard". It is an insult to each and every hardworking, honest, and patriotic bastard everywhere. We pride ourselves on our sound moral foundations, our duty to our fellow citizens, and our love for all things American. Bush embodies , well, none of these. Perhaps if she'd called him a worthless slug I might feel less offended, although I'm sure the slugs would have something to say about it.

What an awful lot of verbiage above about an issue that is trivial beyond all reckoning.

btw, re: NAU ... not a conspiracy fantasy...

"Was the Mexican President not just on LARRY KING recently confirming this!? It's a conspiracy fact."

Being a non-partisan, committed Independent swing voter, I am constantly amazed at how the loving, and ever compassionate liberals, do nothing but spew vitriol, and hate. They speak of compassion. Nothing but empty words.
I'm sorry but I don't get this whole Clinton thing. I mean, how many Republicans would have made it to the highest office in the land, if not the world, with multiple accusations of sexual misconduct and rape, while not only the Attorney General, but also the Governor of a state.
The Democratic party is rife with racists (see Sen. Byrd of W.V.), murderers (see Sen. Ted Kennedy of MA), committed socialists (see Sen Hillary Clinton of NY), sexual page predators (see Rep. Barney Franks and Rep. Gary Stubbs, wherever they're from), and convicted perjurers (see former President Clinton). A true cross section of our country.
Why too many blacks and other Americans give so much credence to a party that actively supported slavery, that actively supported segregation, and that hasn't won a war since FDR, is way beyond my understanding.
The present Republican party seems to be gravitating left. Look at Sen. McCain teaming up with Sen. Feingold to abridge the First Amendment to the Constitution, despite that great document starting off saying,,," the Government shall make no law..." which is EXACTLY what the McCain/Feingold act did. His valor and bravery in war notwithstanding, how that piece of legislation got passed without a great uproar, is stunning.
So an old lady called Bush a bastard. Liberal senility will do that. But as some have pointed out, the real true definition of a bastard applies to only our esteemed former Arkansas Attorney General, and Governor, and President of these United (for now) States.
The Democrats are the ones who decided to play the class warfare card, along with the race card, and also decided to turn their war support stance, to an anti-war stance within 2 weeks after 9/11. They do NOT have the best interests of you and me and this great country, in their agenda. They're only motive is the Democratic socialist agenda, of cradle to grave government control, and their ever greedy hand in your and my pocket.
Hate and envy of financial success, and anything Republican, are their hallmarks. I hope we don't fall for it. Sadly too many have.

A "smile" says a thousand words. Bush is a "bastard", well, HALF of America has this opinion ! Does she smile when someone addresses hubby Bill as an "unfaithful adulterer" with ALL of America knowing this "fact"?

Well, leave Hillary alone. She's had enough ! She may have endorsed with a smile of what she thinks Bush is, but her own BASTARD slept with a young lady named Monica Lewinsky. At least that's ONE of who the pulbic knows about !

Go Hillary...you may not be pretty and may never have been sexucally appealing to the male gender, but you have a good personality and you are extremely intelligent !

Good for Hillary! Bush deserves to be called a lot worse than "bastard". I'd call him the despicable, illiterate moron who stole the election in 2000 and has been killing people and making a f**cking mess of this country ever since. The sooner he is tossed onto the trash heap of history the better.

Barack Hussein Obama is an empty suit with a pretty voice and absolutely nothing behind it.

He's advertised like a box of Lucky Charmes: Sparkley but bad for you.

According to UrbanDictionary.com, one of the meanings of "bastard" is

"1. A way to insult another person in a vulgar way."

After having illegally invaded a country, eroded the separation of powers, lied to Congress, etc., etc., Bush is certainly a legitimate target of insult.

I think a major problem in this country is that the president is both head of government and head of state. In countries where these offices are separate (e.g. UK, Germany) the head of government is the target of a lot of harsh criticism, but the head of state is not usually drawn into the day-to-day politics and more revered.

I think we need a change of the constitution: Maybe the Kennedys and Bushes should take turns as purely ceremonial presidents and we should have a prime minister as head of government... ;-)

Dear Ms. Pardue, PLEASE leave this country and go somewhere where your hate-filled speech is truly appreciated. May I recommend the Middle East? When you call for the assasination (bullet to the head or face) of an American President, you have crossed the line of free speech and you no longer deserve the right to that freedom. The truly sad thing is that American soldiers have died throughout our history to give someone like you that freedom and that is how you choose to use it. I'm sure you have a very intelligent response to this, perhaps calling for my beheading?

Now, who wants to bet that Ms. Pardue is a Liberal?
My work is done here.

...I guess if it were Sen. Edwards at this town hall meeting, and the exact same situation happened, would there be this much hatred?
...C'mon people, give Hillary a break. Hasn't she been punished enough? Gees, she already has to live with a husband who served our country 8 years but will forever be known as Monica's popsicle. Is that not torture enough?

Go Hillary!

One post suggested Bush had more class in his little finger than the Democrats have ... What he has more of on his hands is blood, the kind that will never wash off. The Christian mantra is supposed to be "blessed are the peacemakers" , not the warmongers.

To the idiot who tried to mangle reality and make out that the old lady was 'a right wing plant' to make Senator Clinton look bad. You represent all that right thinking intelligent individuals have come to fear from a Democrat government. Senator Clinton had every opportunity to offer respect for the President, as McCain did for her but she just smiled and moved on, effectively giving silent approval. When a candidate for the highest office is complicit in a gutter grade insult of the president, you can be certain that she herself is not fit for any public office of any description. Shame on her.

Obama's response to the gentlemen and women that interrupted one of his speeches saying, "Abortion is an Abomination" showed a maturity that is APPARENTLY unusual. The ignorant statements that come out of the mouths of people blinded by their own prejudices should just be ignored. This is middle school class election hoopla!! How about someone stand up, and make decisions based on logic, rather than BLIND emotional opinions.

You would have to be seriously uneducated or crooked to vote for someone like Hillary (or any democrat).

One last comment. Is there anyone besides me that cares about the FACT that President Clinton's National Security Adviser, Sandy Berger, used his Top Secret clearance to gain entry to the National Archives over several days, to steal and destroy unreproduced, original documents, that were subpeonaed by the 9/11 Commission, that detailed President Clinton's actions, AND the lack of them, in the months and years prior to 9/11?
And the FACT that Hillary has already said that the same Sandy Berger will have a place in her Cabinet, God forbid, should this country be unlucky enough to have her finagle her way into the White House.
Am I the only one disturbed by this? Had it been a Republican, the outcry would have been deafening, unending, and an effective Campaign issue. And rightly so. Thank God we have CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, and of course NBC to keep this story alive. OH WAIT! I may be wrong about that. Let me check on that and get back to you.

Let us look at McCain’s "conservative" credentials:

-IMMIGRATION: he wrote the bill granting amnesty to illegal immigrants
-SOCIAL SECURITY: he voted to give your social security money to illegal immigrants
-TAXES: he voted against the Bush tax cuts multiple times
-ENERGY TAX: wrote a bill imposing a massive tax on gas
-PROFESSIONAL ETHICS: ringleader of the infamous Keating 5 ethical scandal which cost US tax payers $160 billion (Google it)
-PERSONAL ETHICS: McCain cheated on his first wife after she had a severe accident that left her partially disabled. He then divorced her and married his multi-millionaire mistress, whose daddy bought McCain a spot in the Congress

An elderly lady who said, "Bush the bastard?" I really struggle with anyone whose vocabulary is so limited that they have to speak like that. At the age of 55, I would suggest that the putrid-mouthed woman needs her mouth washed out with proverbial soap, same thing for the individual who used a ridiculous word to describe Hillary Clinton on the McCain prgogram.

Both of the Clinton's are morally bankrupt, this story does not even mildly surprise me. As an Independent, I hope with all my heart Obama can beat Hillary out. She just seems like a genuinely awful individual, and I would be ashamed to have her as my president.

There was one particular time where the peanut gallery interrupted one of Obama's speeches shouting, "Abortion is Abomination". Whether it's right or wrong isn't the point, his reaction, calmly stating that nothing will get accomplished until we listen.. yadda yadda. There's an underlying point that should be brought out, whether it be Hillary smirking, or McCain's reaction to a fan calling Hillary a "bitch". Ignorant statements that are based on emotion rather than logic should ignored whether you're for or against a topic. This name calling is middle school class election hoopla. I'm not for Obama, but he displayed a maturity that obviously isn't common.

Jon,

Bitch and Bastard are rough equivalents. You spent a lot of time making refinements to the meanings....with all due respect, its a lot of effort at establishing some sophistry.

Refering to a sitting president as a 'bastard' is somewhat more offensive, in some people's eyes, than referring to a Senator as a bitch, but I wouldn't want to go down the slippery slope of trying to define the last measure of offensiveness.

Suffice to keep it simple. It was wrong. A smile was not the correct response.

Ms. Pardue, I know when blogging one can express themselves that they normally would not have the "courage" to say in front of the people themselves.

Your comments leads me to believe that you are very repulsive to look at and your husband probably has had several affairs if you are attractive enough to have one. Instead of being angry at your own husband, you vent out at someone who really doesn't give a damn that you even exist. Hey, I'm just speculating about your appearance, but you wish to have our president assasinated ...which is worse?

Without further ado, quickly and urgently go to your nearest beauty parlor or learn some manners. This is the Los Angeles Times, not Myspace.com.!

This is sad. The office of the President used to be held in respect whether or not people agreed with the office-holder's policies. What I find interesting is that Clinton had the opportunity to take the high-road but didn't. If she turns a blind-eye to this kind of crude criticism, she creates an environment that essentially endorses the same behavior if (and it's a big if) she eventually wins the presidency.

Partisan politics are one thing, and certainly serve a purpose in our democratic-republic. However, mud-slinging and name-calling only serve to drag the process down into base debauchery.

Whether people like it or not, President Bush IS the President--at least respect the office if not the man. If Clinton becomes the next President, like her or not, she will deserve the same.

Just in case you may think Clinton would make a good
president:

Hillary Clinton has been telling America that she is the
most qualified
candidate for president based on her 'record,' which she
says includes her eight
years in the White House as First Lady - or
'co-president' - and her seven years
in the Senate. Here is a reminder of
what that record includes:

- As First Lady, Hillary assumed authority
over Health Care Reform, a process
that cost the taxpayers over $13
million. She told both Bill Bradley and Pat
Moynahan, key votes needed to
pass her legislation, that she would 'demonize'
anyone who opposed it.
But it was opposed; she couldn't even get it to a vote in
a Congress
controlled by her own party. (And in the next election, her party
lost
control of both the House and Senate.)

- Hillary assumed authority
over selecting a female Attorney General. Her first
two recommendations
(Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood) were forced to withdraw their
names from
consideration, and then she chose Janet Reno. Janet Reno has since
been
described by Bill himself as 'my worst mistake.'

- Hillary
recommended Lani Guanier for head of the Civil Rights Commission.
When
Guanier's radical views became known, her name had to be withdrawn.

-
Hillary recommended her former law partners, Web Hubbell, Vince Foster,
and
William Kennedy for positions in the Justice Department, White House
staff, and
the Treasury, respectively. Hubbell was later imprisoned,
Foster committed
suicide, and Kennedy was forced to resign.

-
Hillary also recommended a close friend of the Clintons, Craig
Livingstone,
for the position of director of White House security. When
Livingstone was
investigated for the improper access of up to 900 FBI
files of Clinton enemies
(Filegate) and the widespread use of drugs by
White House staff, both Hillary
and her husband denied knowing him. (FBI
agent Dennis Sculimbrene confirmed in a
Senate Judiciary Committee in
1996 both the drug use and Hillary' involvement in
hiring Livingstone.
After that, the FBI closed its White House Liaison Office,
after serving
seven presidents for over thirty years.)

- In order to open 'slots'
in the White House for her friends the Harry
Thomasons (to whom millions
of dollars in travel contracts could be awarded),
Hillary had the entire
staff of the White House Travel Office fired; they were
reported to the
FBI for 'gross mismanagement' and their reputations ruined.
After a
thirty-month investigation, only one, Billy Dale, was charged with
a
crime - mixing personal money with White House funds when he cashed
checks. The
jury acquitted him in less than two hours.

- Another
of Hillary's assumed duties was directing the 'bimbo eruption squad'
and
scandal defense:

---- She urged her husband not to settle the Paula
Jones lawsuit.

---- She refused to release the Whitewater documents,
which led to the
appointment of Ken Starr as Special Prosecutor. After
$80 million dollars of
taxpayer money was spent, Starr's investigation
led to Monica Lewinsky, which
led to Bill lying about and later admitting
his affairs.

---- Then they had to settle with Paula Jones after
all.

---- And Bill lost his law license for lying to the grand
jury

---- And Bill was impeached by the House.

---- And
Hillary almost got herself indicted for perjury and obstruction
of
justice (she avoided it mostly because she repeated, 'I do not
recall,' 'I have
no recollection,' and 'I don't know' 56 times under
oath).

- Hillary wrote 'It Takes a Village,' demonstrating her
Socialist viewpoint.

- Hillary decided to seek election to the Senate
in a state she had never lived
in. Her husband pardoned FALN terrorists
in order to get Latino support and the
New Square Hassidim to get Jewish
support. Hillary also had Bill pardon her
brother's clients, for a small
fee, to get financial support.

- Then Hillary left the White House,
but later had to return $200,000 in White
House furniture, china, and
artwork she had stolen.

- In the campaign for the Senate, Hillary
played the 'woman card' by portraying
her opponent (Lazio) as a bully
picking on her.

- Hillary's husband further protected her by asking
the National Archives to
withhold from the public until 2012 many records
of their time in the White
House, including much of Hillary's
correspondence and her calendars. (There are
ongoing lawsuits to force
the release of those records.)

- As the junior Senator from New York,
Hillary has passed no major legislation.
she has deferred to the senior
Senator (Schumer) to tend to the needs of New
Yorkers, even on the hot
issue of medical problems of workers involved in the
cleanup of Ground
Zero after 9/11.

- Hillary's one notable vote, supporting the plan to
invade Iraq, she has since
disavowed.

Quite a resume`, isn't it?
Sounds more like an organized crime family...

I read through the string of comments from top to bottom. Clearly there are people with axes to grind.
I find it interesting that whenever I talk to a devout Liberal Democrat or a Conservative Republican and ask them to tell me how they feel about a political topic and leave out any reference to any political party, they usually end up saying the same ultimate goal.
Nobody wants childred to starve or go without health care. Everybody wants kids to do well in school. Nobody wants inocent kids shot on the street or their classrooms. Everybody wants to make sure the homeless get in out of the cold and get some food in their belly. Nobody wants any American to die in any armed conflict. Let's get real.
If you like a candidate, fine, what is their core belief, why do you trust them. It is easy for anybody to tell you what they would have done using their 20/20 hindsight. But in real life, the President of the US will have to make some tough lonely calls. We don't need somebody who is re-packaging and repositioning themselves for each audience they get in front of.
I think most people would like a woman to be able to have an equal shot at the American dream, same with any person of any color. My vote would be for Margrett Thatcher (if she were American) and Colin Powell, though frankly I don't know enough yet about Hillary or Obama to make an informed choice. I will not vote for them because they are a woman or black, that would be a slap in their face. I would vote for them if I thought they had the vision to lead. And frankly, the more someone wants that god-forsaken job, they less I trust them with it. The more they claim they are the only one capable, the less I trust them with it. The old saying goes "the more they claimed their nobility, the faster we counted our silver."

Like it or not, the majority of the States, according to the constitution, voted for Mr Bush twice. I am assured he does not make decisions in a vacuum. It is somewhat shallow minded to think that we took our valued all-volunteer troops back to the Middle East for some simple reason. I am sure there are strategies in play that will not come out for centuries, if ever. And I am relatively confident that whoever was in office would have made similar choices, regardless of what they say when not in the hot seat. When you are there in that position in the oval office, you can't tell the US and the world everything you know. It would be like playing poker and showing the other players your cards while betting with the lives of our fellow neighbors as chips. In WWII, the US government deliberately lied in the media to mislead the enemy, and saved US lives. Would we want them to do differently? When the US government exposed the "Black Bird" spy plane to the world (still holds the speed record), I thought how could they give us up like that; only then I learned of steath technology. Then I realized that there were even better tools available that they can't tell us if they are sharing stealth. At some point, you have to trust the people we put in DC to make the right call. they cannot tell us everything. They are human, they will make mistakes, but you have to believe they want to do the right thing on whole. Don't listen to what the candidates are saying, but how they say it and what they do and have done. Not those who claim nobility, but the ones who act Noble. We need someone with intellegence, honor and courage that we and other leaders can trust, it is a tough job.

And by the way, being a good liar doesn't make one intellegent, it just means they are a good liar.

Hillary had nothing to do with the death of Vince Foster, so stop it !

From an earlier comment: "this is the kind of negative race the Clintons feed off of." What is everyone talking about?! The Clinton machine?! Racial politics? Dirty tricks?! In 1992 Bill Clinton ran on the promise of a middle class tax cut and as a President who would know what a scanner was in a supermarket (meaning someone who would be in touch with the people). He won a plurality and took the White House. He was blamed for losing the House and Senate in 1994 because of vicious attacks by leaders of the so called "Republican Revolution", attacks that were largely directed at his wife's attempt to reform health care.

So far, where's the nastiness everyone keeps referring to as what the Clintons love?! Moving on, in 1996, he came back from political death by holding back Republican attempts to cut every program that meant anything to anyone: job training, transportation grants for seniors, environmental programs and actually won reelection over a weak opponent, Bob Dole. It was an easy win, VERY LITTLE nastiness. And then it was over for Bill Clinton as far as national races.

Now Hillary runs, and all of a sudden people remember this Clinton nastiness as if it were conventional wisdom that they and Karl Rove traded campaigning secrets. But her 2 wins in New York were barely nasty - Lazio was a non opponent, and she won with 67% of the vote in 2004. So what in the world is everyone referring to? A few jabs in South Carolina and all of a sudden the Clinton "machine" with it's "nasty" "racial" politics is at it again?! It's as if people have created monsters out of them, 2 people for whom public service has been their entire life.

The Democratic party loves nominating the weak willed, non winner Dukakis-Gore-Kerry types, and for what?! So that they can turn on their own: the Clintons, who have the best track record in a generation standing up to the Republicans.

It's shameful to blast them this way. You have no basis for your remarks and I sincerely hope that people who want real leadership and a track record to prove it, vote for Hillary tomorrow. Enough!

-Gabriel

Stephen - You don't think that "putrid-mouthed woman" was paid to say that? Wake up!
